So I'm levelling with some guys starting on the 30th with the aim of experiencing as much of the old world content as possible. What should I roll? I was thinking Druid because I've had the least experience with them, but turns out that's the same for 2/3 of the crew, so I'm not so sure.

id definately go with a hybrid class and druid would probably be the best yes
