Crap I tried playing the Warband beta and it doesn't work. I used my key from D2D and it let me download it but when I try to join a server it says incorrect serial.
What can you do when you get around 40 guys?
All the bandits and shit wont fight you, but you can't fight castles or lords.

join a faction and fight in epic battles

I'm buying this as retribution. When the game was first released as a Beta, I got into one of the free "BETA" things in the British Gamespot. I've been playing with that ever since because it never expired.
I remember playing the demo waaaay before Tales World got a hold of it. Felt so good to buy it.
This thread reminded me of the game and I just tried out the 1866 Mod, it's brilliant.
I bought it ages ago, beta version 0.7something I think.

Bought it as soon as the steam news told me it was $7.
Still fucked up that it's in € but for that price I don't mind. Hell watching Avatar cost $13 and it wasn't even 3D.

I got mount and blade on steam for 5 dollars, but every time i try to start it i get the error "Failed to contact key sever"
Rendering the game unplayable. It is kinda ticking me off.

Good game, even if i cheat (like i do in almost every game like this one)
it's still got some 'weird' bugs, like i went into this prison, went to the door to go into the town and instead it would put me back into the prision (no, i wasn't jailed)
I got my key now, but now to decide what mod to install. I want to rule my own faction. Any tips?
Prophesy of Pendor allows you to control your own faction, there are a few others that do too, but thats the one i've got on my mod list.
This game is quite fun, I asked a lord if he wanted me to do anything, he wanted me to collect tax.
I collected it, then I decided to run off with it. :v: :c00l:

This game to me is basically:
Mount & Blade: Medieval simulator
( thats a good thing. )
It was pretty much designed to be a Medieval combat game. Hell, I find this more exciting than Medieval Total War, you get a "Fuck Yeah!" feeling whenever you charge your mass of cavalry towards the enemy.
Which is why I'm looking forward to TLD so much, Rohirrim, CHARGE!
