Yeah, there's a big difference between "oh I was just using SourceMod on a listen server to play around with a speedhack and was unfairly banned" and "oh I was using an exploit in SourceMod to speedhack on public servers and a Valve employee caught me and I'm totally butthurt about it."

What's wrong with an automated system having a manual mode? They can't account for everything, you know. It's MOSTLY automated because Valve employees can't be arsed to view thousands upon thousands of recordings, emails and screenshots to ban specific players, it's easier just to have it ban modified .exes/.dlls upon detection with the added ability to manually ban people for things such as Sourcemod speed-cheats.

It was not speedhacking. It was an exploit, with no hacking involved. Like the "build 0 -1" exploit. Please get this through your skulls, people.
Wait, do you guys know the exact thing he's talking about? It's a plugin. Not a hack, a plain old plugin. It is Sourcemod. It goes in the addons folder. It replaces nothing and modifies nothing.

It's not a loophole, it's how VAC is stated to work in various FAQs. VAC is supposed to be an AUTOMATED system that DETECTS HACKS and applies a DELAYED ban. This was a Valve employee MANUALLY banning me without DETECTING anything, just using his eyes, and applied a near immediate ban.
I didn't get a Steam support reply yet.
Exploiting is wrong, exploiting is bad, people shouldn't exploit, people do exploit, hackers get banned, exploiters should not, hacking=/=exploiting.

You're trying to defend an illegal cheat. It doesn't matter if it is accomplished via hacking or exploiting. It's still a cheat and the EULA says don't cheat or you may be banned.
And to say that Valve employees can't ban someone, the computers have to do it automatically is just stupid.
They all have the right to ban whoever they want at any time for whatever reason, legit or not.

The engineer exploit caused my game to lag due to the hundreds of sentries and buildings everywhere and made the game unfun.
It was a cheat that negatively effected the enjoyment of the game and Valve would have had every right to ban people for doing it.

It's their problem though, they can't expect people NOT to exploit something like that or this. It's not supposed to be vac bannable, so why wouldn't someone use it?
VAC is for hacks, not exploits. You shouldn't be banned, in my opinion.
The difference is that an exploit in SourceMod is not an exploit in TF2. Unlike the engie exploit, it IS third-party software and modifies the game. Since it's not running server-side, it's running client-side and fooling the server, it's no better than a hack, and the only reason VAC doesn't normally ban you for it is because Valve can't tell whether you're running it for server purposes or bypassing sv_cheats.
