Can't argue with the fact that I used an exploit, not a hack, to use console commands.
Doesn't have to be a hack. It's cheating. It requires third-party modifications. It's VAC bannable. From Steam support:
Any third-party modification to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban.
Note the OR in "cheat or hack." Engie exploit doesn't qualify because it's not a third-party modification, so stop using that as an excuse.
Hello Jagger Estep, Thank you for contacting Steam Support. As you have explained, you were using a "speedhacking exploit". Cheating is not tolerated in online games, regardless of how the cheat is classified. The ban will not be removed.
Oh well, I only lost TF2 and CSS, I rarely play CSS, and I can still play L4D and L4D2 on secure servers. When the Engineer update comes out, I will buy TF2 when it is on sale, and trade all my stuff over to the new account. (Hope i can trade my soldier medal)
Serves you well.
You're trying to defend an illegal cheat. It doesn't matter if it is accomplished via hacking or exploiting. It's still a cheat and the EULA says don't cheat or you may be banned. And to say that Valve employees can't ban someone, the computers have to do it automatically is just stupid. They all have the right to ban whoever they want at any time for whatever reason, legit or not.
Wait so I can be VAC banned if I own a server and I use god mode and infinite ammo exclusively for myself? Valve had no reason to ban him, it was on a public server, the Valve employee should have consulted the server owner before banning him, since he has no right to ban on a server HE DOESN'T OWN.

Wish I could help out somehow. :P
The vac ban was from a valve employee, they have every right to do so.

If they give themselves god mode or whatever, it's within their rights to do so. However, that is not the issue here. A person who does not own the server modified the game in a manner which was unintended and exploitative, another user expressed their discontent with the unfairness of the exploit and the exploiter was banned in accordance to the EULA.
copy and paste the part that says valve employees can ban users with vac without knowing exactly what was happening
13. TERM AND TERMINATION Either you or Valve has the right to terminate or cancel your Account or a particular Subscription at any time. "Subscriptions" are defined by the EULA as software and content. They don't even need a reason. I'd be glad they just VAC banned, not disabled the account.
How long is a typical vac ban delay?
-snip- I got mega-ninja'd. I have every single Source engine game except for L4D2, so getting a VAC ban is the material of nightmares for me. It would be absolutely devastating. I just hope I don't end up in a server with a grumpy Valve employee and accidentally insult him or anything like that, or I'm toast. Or accidentally install a cheat. It hurts just to even think about VAC bans.
. OP, are you SURE you're actually VAC banned? :colbert:
] Top of the fucking page.
This worries me. What if you are on a server where a valve employee is playing and the server admin has a plugin to make you go faster. Then he just says 'that guy is speed hacking. ban him please' and there you go. Banned with no chance of an unban. This is why systems like this should remain automated. Humans aren't reliable for things like that.
Everyone else would be running at extreme speed too, Im sure the employee would catch on.
fake fake fake fake FAKE. how could you not understand that this is fake??
You're trying to defend an illegal cheat. It doesn't matter if it is accomplished via hacking or exploiting.
fake fake fake fake FAKE. how could you not understand that this is fake??
.
Sounds a little fishy.
It was still cheating though, so you deserved that VAC ban. Besides, it's Valve Anti-Cheat, not Valve Anti-Program-Cheat.
sigh
.
what of it, kid?
i was quoting you for truth
you got fucked over because you said speedhack exploit
The term "hack" doesn't really apply here. More like "sourcemod cvar exploit"
Sounds a little fishy.
no shit it does. OP is trolling.
I'm not trolling. What makes you think I am? Who the hell are you to say I'm trolling when I can't play my games anymore because of this.
I'm not trolling. What makes you think I am? Who the hell are you to say I'm trolling when I can't play my games anymore because of this.
i think the appropriate question to ask is, how could you make your trolling less obvious? your story is clearly bullshit.

It's like if a some guy came into a restaurant you own, and then one customer complains about another, and that guy made it so one of your customers could never enter your restaurant again, nor any other for the indefinite future.
In what way? I joined the same server as a valve employee, he got me vac banned. I wish it were untrue. Here are my binds: Heavy: exec reset alias +speed "sm_cvar host_timescale 7" alias -speed "sm_cvar host_timescale 1.53" bind shift "+speed" alias +rev "sm_cvar host_timescale 2.5" alias -rev "sm_cvar host_timescale 1.53" alias +attack3 "+attack2; +rev" alias -attack3 "-attack2; -rev" bind mouse2 +attack3 engineer and all other 100% classes: exec reset alias +speed "sm_cvar host_timescale 7" alias -speed "sm_cvar host_timescale 1.33" bind shift "+speed" [editline]09:51PM[/editline] I see you use this same exploit, I was like you, I didn't believe that it could ever get me VAC banned, because it can't AUTOMATICALLY, but apparently valve employees can vac ban whomever they wish.
