I don't want this place to turn into lil' SA but I have about a thousand times better conversations there then I do here.

Like; I've been here for years (as have you) and it's just descended into "if you disagree fuck you". People pile onto the person in hopes of getting that illusive "funny" rating and it's a utter trainwreck of bad posts.

In the news node if someone is shot and killed, 9/10 someone's going to leave a gun control comment and derail it.

If you say a game is bad (Duke Nukem; Aliens etc) you are not entitled to your opinion. You can explain in great length why it's bad, post videos backing yourself up, try to talk about it... and you get (and I'm not making shit up) "BOO HOO STOP CRYING LITTLE BABBY" as a response.

The Ps3 thread was just a example on how you can't be in the middle ground without getting attacked here, you have to be fully for it. I listed my concerns with it then said "despite that I'm interested because of [feature feature]" and was still shit on.

Over on SA dudes are rather reasonable and actually talk things out. Yeah there are shitposters there but they get canned for a day and told to stop being such shitlords. It's actually really nice. Hell I saw a few people talking about playing Aliens while in the same thread some dudes were just talking about how it could of been better, and actively disliked it.

Like I said, not wanting to turn this into a SA IS THE BEST argument, I'm just trying to give a example on why I think FP is kind of a low-end of the spectrum place.

Facepunch shits memes fucking everywhere. The site is filled with them 100%; "dose feels ;_;" "lel xD" etc are all over the place, hivemind mentality everywhere, mod/admin circlejerking as well as most mods kinda being assholes just for the sake of "lol I'm funny guys!". Elitism is fucking [i][b]everywhere[/b][/i] (seriously those gun control comments I mentioned? I've never seen people with their heads so far up their ass). It's not just "one little thing" it's a lot, and just because you like the site doesn't mean you can drag every other site down to Facepunch's level. I come here because there can be interesting posts at times but most of it's just eughhh.

I still laugh every time a new CoD comes out and FP claims they'll pass on it, then they ignore all the games trying to be different while shelling out for the newest installment.

Yeah, it's 10 bucks to register. Garry actively tries to turn FP into a mini SA (the pay for gold status, and all of the emoticons are ripped right from there)

The 10 dollars are a incentive to keep people from registering just to shit post and be annoying, but it doesn't stop people from joking around or having fun. The mods are all really cool guys as well. Slowbeef actively goes out of his way to help people out and some of the mods take a active part in threads just as another dude. Only thing you have to do is not spam stupid meme's and talk like you're on a cellphone. Even then most you'll get is probated for a day or two with a slap on the wrist saying "cut it out". You have to be really stupid and ignore every warning given to actually get banned.

4chan and SA have little to do with each other. FP inherited a bit of SA style but saying they're close would be like saying Kotaku (full of hipster asshats) is close to Rock Paper Shotgun (decent PC gaming site)
