By the way, as a semi regular browser of /v/ I'd just like to clear up a few things for you guys.
1. Regardless of what you might hear, /v/ doesn't actually hate everything. Generally the only people who post overly critical stuff about games are edgy teenagers trying to piss people off. During the later hours of the day, discussions on /v/ can be pretty good.
2. There is no overall consensus. 4chans main appeal is its freedom to openly say whatever you want anonymously. People on 4chan feel no need to sugar coat their opinions. If some dude thinks a game sucks he's just going to outright say it, and vice versa. There is never an overall opinion.
3. /v/ discusses game mechanics far more than most video game communities. Most video game communities will just call a game fun or boring. /v/ on the other hand will discuss the gameplay elements and how they felt they added or subtracted from the game. A lot of people misinterpret their criticisms as an outright hatred for the game.
