My cousin has Half Life for PS2 and knows nothing about the story. I have all the games.
What's the EP2 Benchmark that keeps getting mentioned?

Woops forgot the 2 in it. There is no possible way to get hl1 beta since it was never leaked. Your best bet to get the earliest version would be Halflife Day one with was the first demo.
big disappointment
I own every single Half-Life game on Steam.
The retail games I've got is Half-Life Game of the Year Edition, when I registered this on Steam I got Opposing Force and Blue Shift, it's pre-steam. The cover art consists of the original art in the middle covered buy a golden-ish cover which says Sierra Best Seller Series. I feel kindof special having this knowing that it's pre-steam and that I can install it like the old days, and it's getting quite old now.
Half-Life 2, regular game package with the art showing both Gordon and Alyx. I got a second copy of it in my Orange Box.
Episode 1, just the regular box art and all with Alyx holding a gun, the text on the back is translated to Swedish. HLDM:S was included. I got a second copy of this in the Orange Box.
Episode 2 came as part of the Orange Box, looks like the ordinary, but like Episode 1 the text on the back is translated to Swedish. Bought it on its release day.

Other stuff I got but not retail:
The HL2 Beta leak, both the so called "Anon" and "Russian" releases, the difference is that you can actually play most of the beta maps in the Russian version without compiling all the vmfs and putting them in regular HL2.
Half-Life: Day One, early demo for HL1 which lets you play from start until the end of "We've got Hostiles". Minor differences from the final product.
Half-Life: Uplink, another demo for the game which comes as a special with my HL1, contains a part cut from the game to be just before "Lambda Core".
Half-Life: Decay, not so special since it's the PC port and can be downloaded for free and played as a mod for HL1.
And that's pretty much it, nothing special except the HL1 copy which I find special.
I have a Black Mesa parking sticker, a promotional flyer for the Dreamcast port (coming Summer 2000!), the official Prima strategy guide for the Half-Life port, and a box of gum.
One day I hope to acquire one of these fabled "Half-Life" video games, but alas they remain as elusive as ever.
Dude you got a box of halflife 2 gum?! Where can I buy this, I have yet to find a single seller and I'am seriously dieing to have a box

And what exactly is the point of that? Stress test? Show off?
Can you link me to said hl2:source beta? Also I tried finding box copies of half-life but the idiot sellers don't bother erasing the key when taking photos and makes the whole thing useless. Even though I already own them I would at least like a box copy with a usable key.
hl2:source beta?

stress test
just read this http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Source_Particle_Benchmark also I have reason to believe that the benchmark is broken. I can no longer see the rain particle effects. Also at Juniez you said in your list halflife:source beta
