I really hope this will be a good showing for Arkane Studios. Dark Messiah was one of my favourite games in a very long time. I decided to pre-order XCom instead, but I'll be eagerly waiting for this one to hit the steam sales. Very very eagerly.

The majority of people who play games kinda want to know how X works as soon as they see it, and why Y happened as quickly as possible. If the game takes a long time or takes really roundabout ways of doing that, it's just kinda dull. It's nice knowing at least roughly what you can and can't do and why you are doing it as early as you can. Even an amnesia plot device explains why you are doing what you are doing fairly quickly. Still, if they are the only two negatives they can really list (assuming the image is real), then it looks like a really promising game critically, lets hope it does well commercially to show there is some demand for interesting looking games like this. I'm going to wait a few months, see some more personal reviews and then possibly buy it then, because right now, I don't have the money for risk taking on new titles.

Renting this on gamefly, if this is anywhere near as fun as Dark Messiah it should be at least an underrated classic like Dark Messiah was. Certainly it's challenging to design a game in that way, but it's so much better than a fucking hint screen or tutorial.

So, is the game supposed to be open world? Is it that, linear levels with amounts of exploration, or medium sized areas connected with loading screens?
