I'm gonna play this game full-on lethal, wanting to see the chaos rating take it's effect
Fuck man, it's been at least 2 hours already on the first mission. When does it end. I have not enjoyed scouting out a level this much since ever.
I just figured out [sp]who was who, so when I told my target her name and chose the right conversation options she led me to the stairwell that goes upstairs/to the basement. Dunno where she would have taken me after that since I choked her out and gave her to her stalker.[/sp]
If you choose the right dialogue options, she willingly goes down to the basement.
Argh. Don't have the game yet, want to try and to a ghost/no kill run for my first playthrough. But I wanna play as somewhat of a good guy (versus a sadisitic bastard). From what I hear, some of the "non-lethal" assassinations are actually a lot more morally grey than a quick death, which means I think I'd like to actually kill my targets (and only my targets) once or twice my first playthrough. But that would completely discount me getting any kind of no-kill achievement playing this way (even if my chaos wont be very high since I think you can get a couple of people before it starts going up), and I wouldn't want to replay the whole game doing the same exact thing except changing my outcomes for one or two missions. Especailly since I think it would be more fun to mix things up every now and then and actually kill the guy quickly instead of doing the non-lethal route :( I think I'll just have to go without that achievement and shoot for a ghost rating instead lol
OK this is retarded. So I am supposed to be the super trusted bodygaurd right? So why the fuck as soon as she gets asassinated they instantly go to blame me?
If you choose the right dialogue options, she willingly goes down to the basement.
Oh. She started going up the stairs for me, so I just choked her out. [sp]The spymaster(guy in black) and the guy in red(overseer, forget his official title) were both in on the assassination. Corvo just happened to be there at the wrong time since he arrived early, so they took the opportunity to blame the murder on him.[/sp]

The others just went with it if I remember correctly.
i think the group of guys who arrive to arrest you are the conspirators (except the guards)
They say they are part of it to your face when they torture you trying to get you to sign a confession. Anyone else get a massive half life 2 vibe from this game? Not that they are similar in gameplay, but the art style of like the city and stuff just gives off that feel IMO.
The guy in red was the first to accuse you, and he was in on it.
Oh. I guess I remembered incorrectly then.
... its the same art director who designed city 17 so NO WAY!
... its the same art director who designed city 17 so NO WAY!
Well that would explain it. Didn't know that.
oh my...ok shit just found the [sp]dead family bodies and journals....man i dropped a few tears after i even saw the bodies in the bags...thats some hard shit );[/sp]
Interesting quote from RPS http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/10/10/no-oceans-dishonored-uk-launch-trailer-takes-the-piss/
Using proxies/VPN means you can trick Steam into thinking you’re in the US, and play the game that way. However, it’s crucial to note that Valve have made it clear this violates their terms of service, and if caught you could lose your account, and access to all the games you’ve bought with it. If you’re willing to take that risk, and we of course can’t endorse it because we’d hate you to lose your games, there’s a good guide here. (Although note that it hasn’t updated the risk level since Valve changed their ToS.)
So Valve is no longer okay with this? Edit: People were talking in this thread like it was perfectly okay with Valve if you did this, but didn't make any purchases
Hah, [sp]your torturer can be killed in the Spymaster assassination mission. You also find he's the son of Granny Rags and has Outsider powers just like you do.[/sp]
[sp] When you're assigned with assassinating High Overseer Campbell Soup Can[/sp] :v: [sp]and you are trying to save the Maid's Uncle from being poisoned: Did anyone else have Campbell and the gang run off into the basement after you poison/spill/find the drinking glasses? No matter what I did it saves the Uncle (spare for killing him with a dart or something)[/sp]
[sp]I placed one of those razor trap mines in front of the door, it killed him and his guard but not the guy I was suppose to spare, I just tranqed him.[/sp]
The bit with [SP]poisoning Campbell, after i decided to combine both so he'd be confused, I was too busy getting the rune[/SP] then I hear the bell and "time for drinks", I've never had such an adrenaline rush trying to find cover :v: EDIT: [SP]HOLY SHIT, watching behind cover, I get my crossbolt at the ready on Campbell as for some reason Murnrow is reacting to the poison but not Campbell, then after he collapses, Campbell collapses too and I put away my weapon[/SP]
Yup. [sp]I blinked up to the chandelier in a split second.[/sp]
I [sp]hid under the table[/sp] :v:
Nevermind this vpn stuff, the only solution to the problem i had to connecting was apparently recompiling the entire program. I'll wait for the release instead.
Yeah, my computer pretty much all idles hot, but I've never had an issue with it.
Great ending. [sp] I just wish I didn't kill as many people as I did. [/sp]

Edit: People were talking in this thread like it was perfectly okay with Valve if you did this, but didn't make any purchases
It breaks their terms of service but they aren't going to ban your account over it, the first time I used a VPN to get an earlier release was in 2010 for AvP and I'm pretty sure even back then people thought it would get your account banned and nothing has happened since.

[SP]You know that heart thing[/SP], when you right click it? After 20 odd times I was expecting her to say "You can stop fucking pressing the same button now".
Kinda did see some of the things coming. But hey, Michael Madsen.
I [sp]hid under the table[/sp] :v:
I never thought of doing that but funny all the same :v: I thought it was convenient that the wooden stand thing had a hole cut perfectly for my crouching height.
What amazes me is that Corvo can fit under tables while carrying a body. I mean he's basically crawling with a body on his back.
Corvo body is made of rubber i fucking bet it is
For the Achievement/Trophy "Mostly Flesh and Steel: Finish the game without purchasing any supernatural powers or enhancements, besides blink," does that include buying upgrades for weapons/the mask? I can't tell if "supernatural" applies to enhancements as well, or if enhancements even include what falls under the "Upgrades" category of Piero's shop.
This game is so great Also, Darkvision II is a godsend Literally never be short of ammo, potions, or coin again unless you're really bad at aiming and fighting
