So I've actually heard pretty mixed views on this game so far. Is it worth it at full price?
Mixed views? how?
Mixed views? how?
Good game, but some parts rather linear, also short
is there much to do besides the main assassinations? From what I understand it isn't open world, which Im okay with, but are there plenty of side objectives and such?
Each mission has 1 or 2 side quests but there are also unmarked quests like freeing prisoners and stuff like that, usually you get some coin or a safe combination for doing them.
I'm kind of stuck in the hound area. I'm still going nonlethal and I think I'm not spotted. Spotted means their notice went red right, if it's white it's just a warning, yes? But anyways, do I just dart all the damn dogs?
The blink ability is the centerpiece of this game imho.
Well, yeah they give it to you like right away.
Well, yeah they give it to you like right away.
You know what would be an awesome challenge? Whole game without blink Probably impossible but would be fucking wicked if you could
Its a great game but for the price its not worth it. Should cost 20-30 dollars, especially since they plan to milk it with DLC.
You know what would be an awesome challenge? Whole game without blink Probably impossible but would be fucking wicked if you could
It's probably possible (and easy) if you are doing a kill everyone playthrough Stealth on the other hand
Just got done playing Dishonored for the first time.
AND I CAN'T STOP CUMMING

So far I eliminated [sp]Campbell. Non-lethally of course.[/sp] And so far without a kill. I absolutely love the art direction. Even though some areas could use a little bit of contrast this game still has a lot of color. As for gameplay, I think I'll give my final verdict after beating it. But loving it and looking forward to lethal playthrough. [sp]I decided not to the side-quest for the crazy old lady. I guess I lost a rune that way but I won't help spread the plague.[/sp] And forgot 2 things: How do you hide your weapons? And the playtesters must have been complete morons because the hints are terrible. The lowest point was when it told me all the ways how to get past the wall of light.
About the old lady quest, [sp]She asks you to posion the elixer, Elixer used by bandits, but is also sold to civillians. If you choose to poison, then you also kill innocent people. If you go non-lethal, you should choose not to poison.[/sp]
It's probably possible (and easy) if you are doing a kill everyone playthrough Stealth on the other hand
The only place I'd see it being a problem is in the [sp]Flooded district[/sp] Since there's a lot of movement puzzles there
Decided to rent the game due to the price not being worth it and stuff, I'm barely at half of the first mission. doing Stealth path is rather challenging unlike others, it's likeable. Characters aren't really that interesting so far. The world itself feels more like an open-world than linear. Overall first impression: I'm thinking about buying this game once the price lowers down.
River Crusts are the most annoying fucking enemies in the game mostly because I HAVE to use a fucking ranged weapon to take them out. [editline]13th October 2012[/editline]
You know what would be an awesome challenge? I swear, I'm going to put in like 500 hours into this. Just finished the assasination on mission 1 and working my way back. I've been playing for like 5 hours.
ive noticed that playing the game just running and gunning is WAY harder than stealth blink made the game easymode for stealth, even in very hard mode
I'm gonna try and beat the game now with killing everybody!
i've been playing stealth and killing someone ONLY when i need to. I mostly just sneak up behind someone and knock them out but i still get a high chaos after a mission completion
I just came across this thread and don't feel like skimming through the pages, but I had a question. I'm going to buy this game, but I'm unsure whether to get it on the PC or the 360. Any input?

I keep messing up my clean runs. I get inside a building without alerting anyone, maybe choking 2 gaurds, but after I actually get close to my target I end up blowing up 5 gaurds and killing everyone inside the building for some reason.
I'm not too worried graphics wise, I'd like to know which has a better format for smoother gaming, like activating abilities and what not
It feels really smooth on PC.
that feel when you chain drop asassinate tallboys

You can do a no magic, non-lethal if you REALLY try.
It feels really smooth on PC.
I'm below the minimum specs and I can max this game, my fps stays in the 50s.
I just want to know this in advance. Once you beat the game, do your upgrades stay for replaying the missions?
I just want to know this in advance. Once you beat the game, do your upgrades stay for replaying the missions?
to an extent. whatever upgrades you had when you started that mission during your playthrough that's what you have.
I saved up a buttload of points over at g2play.net and can get this game for like 30 bucks. Should I?
Am I the only one disturbed by the fact that the atmosphere greatly reminds of City 17? While I do realize that the main artist/creative director (whoever is in charge of the general art design) is the same of Half Life 2, the fact that even APCs, guards, "Striders" "Paths of Light", etcetc look almost as in Half Life 2. Feels a bit of a plagiat design.
The amount of laziness and plagiat in the fucking game is outrageous to me now. They even have the [sp] flying in a pod sequence where you eventually lose your gear and you're ought to get it back [/sp] similar to Half Life 2 And the ending mission is a Citadel in a nutshell. The elevator, too! Overall the game is great in terms of gameplay, but IMO, it really really lacks in the department of plot development. They surely did a good job on making the stealth mechanics awesome and thinking about everything through, but to my feel storyline was really bland and boring. Finally, I give this game a 8/10. Certainly for a GOTY award this game surely will have some competition, along with Far Cry 3 , Hitman:Absolution (A bomb among the upcoming games) , Assassin's Creed 3, but the obvious winner will be either Black Ops 2 or Halo 4.
