After several hours of stealth and non-lethal takedowns I'm finally at the last mission, shame there aren't anymore, well I guess I'll wait for the DLC.
But you [sp]die in all but 1 of the endings[/sp] How would that even work
Is it ever explained who is that "other" dude, the pale one who gives you powers. I didn't really sink into the lore and probably missed it. What's his deal?
But you [sp]die in all but 1 of the endings[/sp] How would that even work
What? That's from old age, not actually getting killed. There's plenty of room for DLC.
I wish the game's story didn't become a cliche 'save the princess' type ordeal, and focused more on the interesting lore and origins of the assassins. I mean, I felt like nothing was explained, who was that guy that kept talking to you when you collected runes? who are these assassins and why do they have 'magical' powers? Also i know that whale oil is used as a power source for lots of the technology in the game, but i thought the story would've revolved more around it. it's just like 'okay so we found out whale oil can be used as a power source, and now we use it to power stuff', and that's it. I feel like that was just an excuse to implement more technologically advance stuff in the game, when really the era presented in the game isn't very advanced. i would loved to have found out more about the whales - their origins, how they were discovered, who owns the company that manufactures the stuff, etc. The plague wasn't explained very well either. It's just disappointing to have a game with such a beautiful art style and fun gameplay be ruined by a story that's absolute garbage, with predictable and boring characters . The lore seemed like it had so much potential.
can you get [sp]Lady Boyle[/sp] non-lethally?
can you get [sp]Lady Boyle[/sp] non-lethally?
Yes, you can deal with everyone non-lethally.
so i've heard that the story gets completely balls to the walls awful towards the end of the game is this true
so i've heard that the story gets completely balls to the walls awful towards the end of the game is this true
Not awful, just predictable.
can you get [sp]Lady Boyle[/sp] non-lethally?
[sp]Lord Brisby, I think his name was, will ask for a private conversation, basically talk to him and you get the non-lethal option[/sp]
I was walking upstairs in the [sp]boyle mansion[/sp] and none of the guards up there even bothered to give me a second glance, they just said I shouldn't be here and then wandered off. I looted everything on that floor in plain sight.
[sp]Lord Brisby, I think his name was, will ask for a private conversation, basically talk to him and you get the non-lethal option[/sp]
[sp]But do you think handing her over to him is more humane than ending her life?[/sp]
Is there a way to holster your weapons? Walking around [sp] Boyle's mansion with them out is annoying.[/sp]
Is there a way to holster your weapons? Walking around [sp] Boyle's mansion with them out is annoying.[/sp]
Hold down your use button.
[sp]Lord Brisby, I think his name was, will ask for a private conversation, basically talk to him and you get the non-lethal option[/sp]
[sp]Lol that option was more disturbing than actually killing her. You basically deliver her to a creepy admirer rapist guy.[/sp]
Hold down your use button.
Many thanks!
so i've heard that the story gets completely balls to the walls awful towards the end of the game is this true
The actual events of the story do become rather predictable, but the world still remains interesting. My issue was that the end was really rather sudden. And I don't mean the length of the game sudden I mean a "THE END" screen popping up as soon as you do the last thing and then you get a really brief summary of things to come after that. Though the game was pretty short as well, but that much I expected.
Holy hell ok so after [sp]daud captures you and you take him our or whatever[/sp] I figured out the best way to get through the ruined area with the t-boys. ride the fucking razor train and jump over the wall of light right as it passes through, it feels like an action movie
I reeeeeeeaaaaaaaally want an open-world RPG set in The Isles, it's just such an awesome setting.

I feel like I made the guy who designed it cry since there's some alternate way to get the tallboys to focus on something else. No doubt it was intended though, I heard some NPCs talking about hopping on it and riding it out of the plague district.
Is it ever explained who is that "other" dude, the pale one who gives you powers. I didn't really sink into the lore and probably missed it. What's his deal?
I suppose if you don't go after Runes and find his shrines you probably only see him maybe twice. He's supposed to be some kind of old god from the time before the empire, like a pagan type thing. But since he's a real, actual thing which nobody can really deny, or at least not fully, he's practically the 'devil' of the Abbey of the Everyman despite not being entirely evil (Nor good). Otherwise, it's definitely an out of the way area and you have to double back to find the way up there.
I reeeeeeeaaaaaaaally want an open-world RPG set in The Isles, it's just such an awesome setting.
I'd even be satisfied if it were only as open-worldy as Assassins Creed or something, with just a lot more targets to give you. By the end of this game I found myself feeling like I didn't really get to explore the extent of the powers I had acquired before the game was over and done with.

I want to see the rest of Gristol and the rest of the Empire.

(i didn't read this lmao)
GREAT IDEA RESPONDING TO A PERSON WHO HAS NOT PLAYED THE GAME WITH A COMPLETELY SPOILERED POST. THIS IS VERY USEFUL. (i didn't read this lmao)
The best part is that it doesn't even have any spoilers and there have been more spoiler-y things outside of tags than that for ages.

(i didn't read this lmao)
I didn't really think about it, that was kind of a secont nature thing, there aren't actually any spoilers in there, so I'll just remove them. But uh... But yeah to actually answer your question efficiently the storyline loses momentum and comes to an anticlimactic halt imo.
