The good ending was really cool, sure it was lacking but it made me feel good. also the credits song was legit
I love all the little details in the game. Like if you brand High Overseer Cambell he shows up later as a weeper. If you sign the guest list at Lady Boyle's party the Lord Regent has a letter on his desk warning him about it. The assassin at the start of the game who grabs you and takes Emily is the same one who warns Daud that you're coming.

Question about my ending: [sp]If I had low chaos is that considered the "good" ending? It was the one where it basically says you go on to protect her and eventually die and whatever. I wasn't trying THAT hard to have low chaos (only killing people when I had to) but that left me wondering is there a better ending than what I got or are there two different levels of worse ending?[/sp]

It's cool how minor details get a responsive tie-in even if they aren't completely relevant to the story. [editline]13th October 2012[/editline]
Nope, you had the best possible ending.
So is there a medium and a terribad ending then?
So is there a medium and a terribad ending then?
There is a bad ending, that's for sure. And an ending which can be considered 'Medium'.
More like two variations of the "bad" ending.
Just watched the 2 "bad" endings. ok so the [sp]emily dies[/sp] ending was the best of the two because it leaves an opening for the story, but the other ending is literally just "pfft shit went sour you piece of shit, this is what happens when you don't keep your blade stowed. Good Ending represent!
Okay, what the hell? [sp]Replaying the Boyle party, I stole everything from the upper floor without alerting everyone and now suddenly all the maids and Lady Boyle's are seeing me as hostile[/sp]
[sp]why does so many people betray me oh my god. even my good friend samuel is like "lol i told them ur cumming" and a ton of guards come at me, so i shoot him in his stupid fucking face before he tried to leave, piece of shit almost got me killed[/sp] also, past [sp]assassinating the twins[/sp] i gave up on stealth almost entirely since i was discovered all the goddamn time during that mission and i went guns blazing from that point and forward.
I think I just killed all [sp]of the whores in the Golden Cat.[/sp] No witnesses.
There's an achievement to climb to the top of the Bridge? Oh wow, that was surprising to get.
There's no achievement for climbing to the top of the bridge.

Odd, it's not in my achievement list, and I went to the top (and jumped off).
There seems to be some hidden achievements. Also [sp]replayed "Return to the tower". First time I played it the hard way, saving multiple times. Now I found a way to do it in less than 5 minutes. Hm.[/sp]
I am loving this game. But I find that the double jump and level 2 teleporting abilities make combat too easy. Even on Very Hard, if they pull out a gun, I just space myself and insta-kill after a double jump.

Maybe one guard. Seemed a bit easy, especially for what was made out to be a big deal of a level.[/sp]
Contemplating whether I should buy this game or not today. Is it a really good game or will I lose interest fast? Like is combat or anything repetitive? I'd just like a quick input.
What the fuck, I've been trying all day but every time I do High Overseer Cambell non-lethally I ALWAYS end up with 1 kill. The last time I went straight there and only knocked out Cambell, Curnow, and the overseer mocking Martin. WTF am I doing wrong?

Cause if you don't he dies (Dunno why, but Callista whines about you not helping him when you get back[/sp]

I intentionally avoided any NPC killing events aswell to make sure it wasn't counted against me.
finished my almost non lethal run got good ending feels so good man started new full lethal way and massacred the shit outta everyone in the prision and sewers suddenly the game fun factor has increased over nine thousand
Contemplating whether I should buy this game or not today. Is it a really good game or will I lose interest fast? Like is combat or anything repetitive? I'd just like a quick input.
Great combat mechanics make this game a buy in my books, but I personally think the game was designed for those who like to turtle through the combat so depending on your style of combat the game can be pretty much broken or, well, more like it feels too easy (speaking of combat strickly, if you stealth through the game that's a whole other experience). When teleporting beside or behind an opponent you have the chance for an instant kill because once you teleport they lose track of you for a set amount of time. During that window of time, you can punish them. However if your execution is off you are left open to punishment. The melee attack, when wiffed can be cancelled into blocking instantly. That means your character has great pokes at a specific distance, which stresses the importance of spacing in this game. You can hold sprint and forever be sprinting during combat without any negative attributes other than the noise coming from your feet. You are able to use both your primary and secondary attacks during sprinting. When the opponent brings out a gun, I found that there is a window of time before they shoot that you can either double jump and perform an instant kill from above. After an opponent shoots, they are vulnerable for a brief moment which is perfect if you can teleport beside/behind to finish him off in one move. Also note that, a double jump + teleport will grant you the sum of both their momentum. I have footage of myself double jumping from the 4th floor/roof and at the peak of the jump I teleported ontop of an enemy. It did not grant me the option to instant kill but instead my feet landed on top of him causing him to stumble forward as if a car had just hit him at 60km/h. He died from the fall, no other attack was required. So in short: your character movements have momentum that can be exploited in dealing with enemies granted you have the available situation to double jump and teleport ontop (good luck indoors with this) blocking can cancel attack animations when wiffed. teleporting behind enemies + sprint will increase your instant attack range. It is very similar to Kara throwing. I believe sprinting has a start up animation that can be cancelled if you wiff attack + block it will extend your hitbox then attack again right after when the notification comes up on your screen for an instant kill. I have reworked my controls so that block is right click, melee is left click, and secondary is thumb button. so the majority of the time I'm wiff canceling left mouse click then within a milisecond right click then back to left click/ so that incase I get hit during my attack startup, I end up with the option select of parrying my enemy or instant kill. Forgot to note that if you wiff + block cancel your blocks are slightly quicker (even if the animation doesn't show it). I think you only benefit a few frames of animation but in practice it has been a life saver.

My quest log updated to say that he got away safely.[/sp]
Oh. The game didn't tell me that Chaos made a difference until after my first assassination with a very high Chaos amount. Welp. Time to start over :v:
Oh. The game didn't tell me that Chaos made a difference until after my first assassination with a very high Chaos amount. Welp. Time to start over :v:
You can go back to low if you avoid killing more than 20% of the next level's population, no restart needed.
I did, I put him in the dumpster. I intentionally avoided any NPC killing events aswell to make sure it wasn't counted against me.
This is just a thought, but maybe you accidentally killed him when you were hauling him around. One time I was moving a body, and I threw him down a staircase to deal with something else for a second, and when I came to the bottom I realized he was now dead as a result of the impact. Though with that sort of thing you probably would've gotten an objective update about it. So maybe it's just a glitch.
I noticed that some of the scenes change too when you have a high chaos. Like after one of the missions when [sp]you can overhear a discussion between 3 guards and one of them is sick. If you have high chaos, he will deny his sickness and the other guards brutally murder him, but if you have a low chaos, he accepts his sickness and let's them end his life more peacefully.[/sp]
