Oh wow, [sp]I was doing the mission where you have to kill Lady Boyle, and I was doing it non-lethally. I had just finished looting the whole mansion and taking her down to her lover, there was a little railing near where you get to him, it was only a few feet drop that I would obviously take no damage from, so I jumped over. The cutscene where he takes her actives as soon as I get over the railing, and she ends up falling from my arms down onto the floor several feet below. It shows her in the boat with him thanking me for keeping her safe and not killing her, and in the upper right I see "Target assassinated: Lady Boyle."
Have fun with her, you necrophiliac...[/sp]
I'm surprised how expensive games are in the US(?)
I got Dishonored for £29.99 which is far less than $60, its like $48 no?
Nope, $60 in the US. I'll probably wind up getting this when it goes on sale, since I don't want to spend a lot of money right now.

Same exact thing happened to me. :v:
Question about the undetected thing at the end of missions.
Does having a guard notice you for a split second, but not move from his post or get 'alerted' count as being detected, or do guards have to actually begin chasing/fighting you?

I think maybe it counts it if the indicator above their head turns red.
I'm really kind of hoping since it's a bethesda game we might get a chance of getting a sequel that has way more content, because i agree to an extent. the game shouldn't be worth sixty dollars simply because of the span (although i'll pay sixty bucks myself for a good single player experience). it's a bummer because the game is definitely a quality IP
I like to think of this as Borderlands in a way (or any new IP I guess):
Developers release the game, some people don't like it, some do, it's full price but gets tons of sales. Sequel is announced and has way more content than the first game for the same price, everyone loves it!
I didn't get the clean hands achievement despite playing completely non-lethally - all missions 0 kills?
Does it count if I kill someone then load the game before that point?

something similar happened with me except [sp] I blinked over the railing. the end result was it forcing me into a position to view the cutscene but her body flying at over 1000 miles an hour into the wall. somehow she survived. [/sp]
Anyone know of a mod that makes it so you always have low chaos? I've beaten the game first run with it, and want to do a high chaos run, but for some reason I feel bad because everyone ends up hating me.
i need to stop reading this thread until i get the game
blindly clicking on spoilers isn't cool, yo
Are there any other games that have similar fighting mechanics? There aren't many :( I'm only asking because I'm worried that once I'm done playing this game that I will want more

I have yet to play a game with these kind of fighting mechanics. If you want more replay the game at a different approach.

Dark Messiah of might and magic is not really that similar, but it has amazing combat mechanics and was made by the same devs
So how many endings are there really? Just two?
I did the first 3 levels with high chaos. The first two because I had no idea about chaos until the game told me. I thought I could kill people as much as I wanted. The third because I didn't know weepers counted towards chaos. Fuckin things.
So what I'm asking is. If I have the first 3 levels with high chaos (non-lethal eliminations though), and if I do the rest low chaos.
Can I still get the "good" ending?
I'm in the final stages of my non-lethal playthrough, and it is sort of satisfying to see [sp]Campbell as a weeper. I was honestly about to put him out of his misery and shoot him, but I decided to choke him out instead to keep the non-lethal theme going.[/sp]
Wait, killing weepers counts as kills?
GODDAMNIT, no wonder why my kill count is so high.

The end of mission chaos count is an overall count, so if you can manage to abstain from killing people enough to get it back down to low then you can get the low chaos ending.
I got a high chaos ending, however, [sp]I had the picture of Corvo that emily drew, not the fucked up mask thing. Samuel didn't betray me, he only left me at a certain point with a discouraging message, but it wasn't betrayal by any means[/sp].
There's more than 2 endings at least.

You probably killed a lot of people but also took non-lethal approaches.

Those are just variations on the level. There are 3 ending sequences, though evn they have variation based on things such as [sp]if you killed Samuel or not.[/sp]

Why would killing weepers not count as kills?
They are still people
Beat the game on High Chaos. I think I killed almost everyone in the city of Dunwall.

Emily doesn't have anybody to rule over now.

Its really not too similar but it gives me same... joy of killing people. Weird enough, no other game does this.
I just wanted to say that I think this game deserves the 50 euros I paid for it. The lenght isn't too long if you go rambo but if you take your time it's very good. The quality is also top notch. I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs, the gameplay is solid and you can skip cutscenes. The gameplay feels fresh, too. Compared to some titles I know I won't regret my purchase.
Now I just need more missions.
I hate when I complete a mission non-lethal and see that I somehow killed someone. I just finished "Lady Boyle's Last Party" and saw that one person somehow died.

did you kill lord shaw?
did you kill lord shaw?
Wow that didn't even occur to me. My first playthrough was mostly non-lethal but I nailed that guy without a second thought.

Hit him with a sleeping dart, it's no different than shooting him, the guards even say the same thing.

That's just ungentlemanly though, I selected the pistol offered so I felt I should stick with it.
I froze time and killed him before he could shoot because I'm an asshole.
did you kill lord shaw?
Wow, I completely forgot that I even did that. I suppose I should have known it was that seeing as how it says that I defeated Lord Shaw.
