Just spent 1.5-2hrs doing the 2nd mission on a second playthough finding all of the runes, charms, loot caches etc. and once I finish it says 1 alarm was rung, i have garbage luck with these things.
Shit, I guess if I want the good ending I'll have to start a new save, I basically [sp]fucking slaughtered my way out of prison and through the sewers. I've probably killed a good three dozen people or so by now[/sp]

I'm getting confused [sp] I'm trying to do the non-lethal approach on the Boyle party yet when I head to a certain section of the party, everyone starts panicking when they see me and the guards start attacking me. I have no idea why this is [/sp]
You should be okay on the ground floor. As long as you see guests you're fine. Restricted areas are the whole first floor, the whale oil room, basement and this small staircase that also leads to the 1st floor.
Have you killed anyone or attacked anyone? Have you trespassed and been noticed or stolen in view of a guard or guest? I don't think they're supposed to suspect you unless you do something.

I haven't been detected at all while I've been doing this level :/

I'm sorry but that's all I can think of.

Only one guy (the one with whale mask) seemed he could cause some trouble if I kept annoying him. How is your overall chaos?

[editline]20th October 2012[/editline] Ah nevermind, redid the level without any problems :)
Just started replaying, and it's kinda cool how you can [sp]kick that torturer's ass when you return to Dunwall Tower, after what he has done to you in prison[/sp].
I like how the heart suggests that when the last whale is killed it's going to trigger something cataclysmic, maybe even the end of the world. This'd certainly make sense what with it being very heavily implied that there's something inherently magic about whales.
Or the fact that everything runs on whale oil. I want to go for the clean hands and ghost achievements. Do I have to finish every mission as they go or I can use the mission select?
I never understand why people found the River Krusts hard to fight. Its video gaming 101 that if there is a Clam of some sort you can bet your bottom dollar that its weak spot is when it opens its mouth. Just lean round the corner, shoot them with crossbow/pistol or lob a grenade, easy-peasy.
I think it's because of how rapid their attack is. It definitely caught me off guard at first.
True, especially when there's like 4 of them and then another 3 hidden so that they only start firing when you have your back to them.
It's especially annoying when you're sitting on some pole in the flooded district, about 6 of them start firing at once and you quicksave by accident just as they hit you. Playing on Very Hard without health upgrades this shit was deadly. And I hadn't saved properly before so I had to replay everything

Does infecting the bootleg elixir in the distillery affect your kills or chaos?
its been done, brace for impact! [thumb]http://www.dishonoredcentral.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/dishonored-tattoo.jpg[/thumb] sauce:http://www.dishonoredcentral.com/and-the-first-dishonored-tattoo-already-made If anything I'd get the temporary tattoo just for shits and giggles. Halloween coming soon so there you go perfect timing [thumb]http://www.videogamemm.com/blog/pics/e3_2012/dishonoredtattoo.jpg[/thumb]
Too bad its the wrong color. It's actually a dark blue with a yellow outline. No black.
Too bad its the wrong color. It's actually a dark blue with a yellow outline. No black.
Old black tattoos go bluey. There's no yellow outline, that's the magicy bit.
Welp finished my first play through; pure non-lethal ghost. Thank fuck I'm done with that non-lethal crap, it's so much more satisfying to actually kill things.
Ok, I'm not very good at this stealth thing. [sp]"Emily acended atop a pile of corpses"[/sp]
Ok, I'm not very good at this stealth thing. [sp]"Emily acended atop a pile of corpses"[/sp]
Wow. Spoilers.
Wow. Spoilers.
This whole thread is terrible at spoilers, if I had not played the game the whole plot would have been ruined 8 times over by now
one of the things i didn't like about this game is that if you trespass, even for a second, the guards will go batshit and attack you till you die
This game isn't steampunk. At all. Steampunk requires steampower to be used for nearly everything, I don't see steam anywhere.
It's got a steampunk feel though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Steampunk_video_games Also, lots of people seem to agree it's steampunk regardless.
Dat fucking thumbnail. And nice fighting! This actually reminded me of something I wanted to ask you guys: Blinking is awesome as hell but I kinda think it is a little... I don't know, overpowered? I mean you can travel huge distances, it costs little mana and, as you can see in the video above, can be a pretty awesome weapon. What do you think? It actually bugged me a little to use it much, so I replayed a few missions purely without blinking lately, only using the double jump awesomeness that agility provides. It is way more fun and actually pretty challenging so far. I think I'll go for a no-power/non-lethal/ghost run soon, let's see how far I can go.
You should be able to go all the way to the end.
I don't get any steampunk vibes at all. Not even in the slightest. I get more of a maritime industrial-revolution feel.
I'd expect an opinion to vary but from what i've seen: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1167011-Is-Dishonored-steampunk-or-cyberpunk https://www.google.co.uk/search?rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&q=is+dishonored+steampunk#hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&sclient=psy-ab&q=dishonored+steampunk&oq=dishonored+steampunk&gs_l=serp.3...10637.11034.0.11271.3.3.0.0.0.1.521.521.5-1.1.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.5OuHIqSNQOo&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.&fp=8452a943ad72eb32&bpcl=35466521&biw=1920&bih=948
