The trailer looked great but now I need to see the game in action. The video showed some cool features but who knows how they work in game.
This reminds me of HL2... just from looking at the pictures.
This reminds me of HL2... just from looking at the pictures.
The guy behind the design of City 17 is also doing the same work for this game. God damn did that trailer look awesome. I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced in that GameInformer article.
Arkane's track record is not bad however. [editline]17th April 2012[/editline] At all.
That's what everybody said with id and Splash Damage They still managed to be generally disappointing I just don't think it's smart to start creaming all over this game considering Bethesda's tendencies as a publisher so far If it turns out to flop then I won't be disappointed. If it turns out to be good then I'll have a pleasant surprise. I'd say I'm in the right here.
Looks like a mix of Bioshock, Half Life 2 and Thief

We'll have to wait and see, hopefully they'll surprise you.
Hmm, looks pretty cool. After half expecting Fallout 4/Skyrim news it seems slightly underwhelming though :v: Hope it wont be one of these "wow the CGI trailer was way better than the game" sort of games. Moreso because people are easily confused about the difference between Bethesda and Bethesda Game Studios.

If nothing else the combat system should be hella fun. So many games have combat systems that are pure shite, dark messiah was quite solid except for the deathboot and spike traps. Hopefully this game isn't quite Deathboot 2.0
hyper as fuck over this, looks awesome
The way the city is controlled reminds me of Half Life.
I wonder why.
The fact that I write the word as dishonoured is bugging me more than it should...
I know not much is out about this yet, but I am super happy Arkane is back. Dark Messiah may be one of the most overlooked games in recent memory. It only suffered from hilariously bad voice acting and writing that felt like it was from a fan-fiction, but the actual development and mechanics of the game was amazing (let's just pretend multiplayer didn't ever exist). If the gameplay is 1/2 as fun as Dark Messiah then I will still gladly buy this. And if you have never played Dark Messiah go do yourself a favour buy it, or wait for a sale (it always goes on sale). Messing with some of the console commands is great fun as well. I'm glad they didn't go full retard with Steampunk like a lot of people wanted though, this seems to be the perfect combination without pandering. Edit: I'll just note that my game judgement is shit and you shouldn't even pay attention to this post. I thought Brink was going to burst onto the team competitive gaming scene and be one of the top games for a while. Oh what a misguided fool I was. But this game will be different, I know it!
Oh wow, looks amazing, and it's coming out real soon, looking forward to this, the City 17 vibe, with a bit of Steampunk, and those powers. Buying for sure, might be the best game I've seen coming out this year so far.
Holy tits that looks awesome.
that's groovy.
Since we all share what the trailer reminded us of I thought I'd give my 2 cents. I obviously saw a hint of HL2 and Deus Ex. The way they portrayed the heavy FPS focus and climbing reminded me of Mirror's Edge. Finally seeing all the swords and your character using some sort of practical "magic" I also got a bit of Witcher 2 vibe from it, too.
Wait what the shit, Q2 2012? No way that's happening. I guarentee it's delayed until Q4 2012, most likely Q1 2013 though. Unless they're really really really really good at keeping secrets and/or are willing to release a very mediocre game for a quick cashout. Also for the people saying it looks like HL2 (I know they're not saying it scornfully), one of the artists on the HL2 development team is on this team, I believe.
Hope it'll be good and not another game with a kick-ass CGI trailer that turns out utterly underwhelming (I'm looking at you Dead Island)
They have been working on this for years, just because they've announced it near release doesn't mean the project began near release
I know that, but when is the last time a game like this has stayed under wraps for so long unleaked or anything like that. The last I remember was Riddick being announced and then like a month later it was released. I really think the Q2 date will be changed unless they managed to pull a Riddick here.
Published by Bethesda Developed by... anyone else Yeah that's usually a recipe for a flop game if memory serves. I'll wait for reviews before I think about preordering. Only exception I can think of is New Vegas but technically they worked from something that was developed by Bethesda. Even just in 2011 you have Rage and Brink which were both basically flops despite both being from reputable studios. And just like this everyone thought they were going to be amazing.
Fallout: New Vegas is an easy exception
I remember reading a RPS article about this in December and it looked quite interesting.
fuck yes I'm so pumped there's literally jizz everywhere [editline]17th April 2012[/editline]
Published by Bethesda Developed by... anyone else Yeah that's usually a recipe for a flop game if memory serves. Something tells me this game had something to do with the cancelling of Prey 2, I mean I don't think Bethesda wanting two games about assassin bounty hunters going up against each other.

The player base was never huge to begin with, and the bugs chased away most of the players. By the time they were fixed, the player base was tiny and the game got a lot of poor reviews. It never really recovered after that.
This reminds me of BG&E. I hope it doesn't have the same commercial failure that most artsy, niche games have faced.
this game clearly has been spending too much time behind Bioshock Infinite. I'll buy that, and enjoy that. I'll skip this. [editline]17th April 2012[/editline] I'm unwilling to put any excitement in this everytime I get hyped for a game it goes to shit Rage... Mass Effect 3... Duke Forever... WHY
While Bethesda has published some bad games in the past they've also published good ones, so there's a good chance this won't be some cgi hyped to hell disappointment. (SWTOR, Dead Island, etc.)
The voice acting is kind of bad but other than that it looks neat.
