:v:
HAHAHAHA, inb4 i get rated dumb for this; I never thought to find Callista taking a bath. What does she say if you pick "Maybe you'd like company" ?
Speaking of the Outsider, does anyone else think it would've been a nice touch if [sp]he appeared in the background in Lady Boyle's party? He could be wearing enough of a mask to cover his eyes but still leaving enough of his face for players to identify him[/sp]. I'd love if that happened and he gave a little nod and smile before disappearing around a corner or something.

Final level question - [sp]Does killing Samuel at the Lighthouse level before he shoots the gun do anything?[/sp]
Final level question - [sp]Does killing Samuel at the Lighthouse level before he shoots the gun do anything?[/sp]
Yeah, it makes it so [sp] None of the guards are alerted and you get to watch the fishes eat his corpse in nice silence[/sp]
Final level question - [sp]Does killing Samuel at the Lighthouse level before he shoots the gun do anything?[/sp]
woah what I beat the game and I don't understand this spoiler at all [sp]samuel gave me a nice speech and went on his way..[/sp]
woah what I beat the game and I don't understand this spoiler at all [sp]samuel gave me a nice speech and went on his way..[/sp]
High chaos/Low chaos
High chaos/Low chaos
Oh. Well since this has come up, can someone be very specific with how the game is affected by kills etc. I remember someone said "killing one person only changes the game dramatically" and I don't believe that, I know doing big changes obviously affects it, but how do the random NPC kills work and how much influence do they have on the game?
Steam is giving me a 'Cannot launch, error code 83' message when Im trying to launch this, what do I do?
It's literally impossible to win the game without using blink.
You can get through most of the game without using blink/agility, but there are places where I believe you have to use it. Like when you get caught by Daud, i'm pretty sure you can't get out of there without blink or agility, it's too high.
Super informative video I made
So I wrote a review on this game. Just looking for opinions.
So I wrote a review on this game. Just looking for opinions.
Well written and I agree with the majority of what you say. The whole Valve thing was a bit pretentious though.
Ah, shit. Did it come across like that? Funny, because I actually don't really like any of Valve's games, I just think Gordon Freeman is the only successful silent protagonist.
Ah, shit. Did it come across like that? Funny, because I actually don't really like any of Valve's games, I just think Gordon Freeman is the only successful silent protagonist.
Yeah did a bit when you said "valve is the exception to all rules" and stuff like that - plenty of games have done good silent protagonists as opposed to just hl2 I think it was well written, but tips: a) It's a review, so it's allowed to be lengthy and descriptive but I think it wouldn't hurt to be a bit more concise, at the moment it's big blocks of text that aren't really appealing to read for the tired eyes b) even in a review which is an opinionated piece you do have to mention the positives of the game as well as the negative and use both sides to make your judgement as to why it's a bad game. At the moment to me it's just coming across as a bit scathing, which reduces my trust in it as a valuable source of info for the game
Final level question - [sp]Does killing Samuel at the Lighthouse level before he shoots the gun do anything?[/sp]
Woah woah woah, I got HIGH CHAOS ending with several hundred people killed, and Samuel never did anything like that.
Ah, shit. Did it come across like that? Funny, because I actually don't really like any of Valve's games, I just think Gordon Freeman is the only successful silent protagonist.
I kinda agree there, but still. Valve is really good at storytelling, and that was what made Gordon so popular, but it feels like a jab at all the other silent protagonists that are super full of character. I personally think Bioshock's (1 and 2 at times) main characters are chock full of personality because of their actions in cutscenes and the story delivered to you (similar to Valve's formula) That being said, Corvo doesn't have the same feeling. The only times you get that kind of connection to him is around Emily, it seems. Otherwise you are just a masked camera with arms.

Corvo only has personality when he's in hound pits pub, but as soon as he's in that mask he just has no personality at all
Uh, maybe because he's trying to be a silent assassin trying not to get his identity found out and himself killed?
Original Concept for Corvo before Whalepunk and dat mask. Do you want to know how much I liked this game? I started playing it last night at around 10 PM (despite having bought it days before) and played, played, and played until I beat it at 3 AM. By then end my sleep-deprived brain was fucking hyper-focused on the game, it was amazing. I remember somehow managing to figure out the "Sweet Spot" on the front of all the tallboys for the blink kill on them and was landing in 100% of the time. Seriously, these memories are like a god damn movie. I remember doing the blink assassinate on a tallboy, then turning around really fast (at around 1 AM I turned up the mouse sensitivity a bunch) I got a headshot on a guy who I had only noticed when he entered my crosshairs, I then continued turning, parried an attack and murdered a guy, then I blinked killed three more guards in quick succession. This is without a doubt one of the best games I've ever played. The controls are extremely fluid, the voice acting is fucking brilliant (Chloe Grace Moretz <3) and the actual design on everything is amazing. This is truly one of the most immersive games I have ever played, I honestly loved the Chaos system (Not to mention the high chaos ending) and everything done here is just top notch. It is sadly short, but I'm happy to say it never tries to beef up it's playtime with stupid filler content. All in all, I'm certainly going to be replaying this, if only to get all of the runes, because the only power I ever used for the entire game was blink.
There are many places that require blink to get to that progress the story.
I recently went through the game without getting any of the powers besides blink, I only had to use it 4 times, once because I got stuck in a cliff and couldn't get out of it. Twice to get up the water elevator thing during [sp]the Lord Regent's assassination[/sp] The fourth time was in Daud's cell hole thing.
Minimal blinking makes the game awesome enough for another playthrough. Do it people.
