The high-chaos ending is the more reasonable ending I thought. It's not really sad, just factual.
I liked the nonlethal ending.
Same, it was anticlimactic as hell, but in my opinion, it was in a good way.
Didn't even get the high chaos ending myself, youtube spoiled it for me.

I just finished the game so I don't know if you've all talked about this yet, but I was reading that book 'Call of the Spheres' in the Tower at the Hounds Pit. The book makes it seem as though there's been some musings on space-travel, linking it with The Void that the Outsider is from. Could it be that 'outer space' in the Dishonoured universe is the same as The Void?
There really aren't very many differences between the levels based on chaos. A few more rats and weepers, and a handful of different scenes.
To my knowledge here's some of the changes. [sp]Well here's the examples I've found. In the first mission if you're in Low Chaos in the docks one of the Overseers will be infected with the plague, and ask his friends to kill him. In High Chaos they find out and stab him in the back over it. When you come back for the Golden Cat there's more Weepers then there normally would be, and different dialogue. Not sure what's different on the Sokolov mission, but the Boyle Party adds a lot of Weepers that will kill a fair amount of guards in the area surrounding the party. The Lord Reagents place has minimal differences. The flooded District has more infected, and the assassins have unique dialogue for it, and the High Overseer won't be alive to guard the stash of your weapons, there is also the sewer entrance in the last area, where you no longer need to meet Granny, and Slackjaw since the door will automatically be unlocked, and instead of being full of Weepers, and the dead it's full of alive people living in a shanty town of sorts who are friendly to you. The Hound Pit Pub on low chaos has everyone executed in a firing squad with their backs turned while the High Chaos is a massacre. The final mission is self explanatory really, the sky is bright, and sun shines on Low Chaos, and Pendleton, and Martin are poisoned, and don't need to be subdued, and Havlok doesn't put up much of a fight, as well as Samuel being nice, and not alerting the guards. There's a lot more, but I can't remember it all.[/sp]
I geuss the only way to defeat [sp]Granny Rags is to kill her?[/sp]

And I think Lord Regent is already in his safe room in high chaos. But I guess that depends on how you infiltrate the tower.[/sp]

If you sneak into the tower without setting off the alarms he tells the captain he's coming back down to his room. If you set off the alarms he'll stay in the safe room.[/sp]
So this was just posed on the dishonored FB page.

Why do they have that "hey dude you got like many choices in this mission dude" screen once you get to the brothel? We get it, you wanna be Deus Ex. You don't become Deus Ex by putting up signs that say "Hey look at me I'm Deus Ex!". Ironic too because the game is so much less Deus Ex than it pretends to be. They shoulda sticked to the Dark Messiah way of being the good kind of linear.
Deus Ex was the first game ever created with moral decisions and free roaming levels, yes, you are absolutely right.
I didn't say that.
I didn't say that.
Well than how is having that gameplay style trying to be like deus ex?
It's an example of the things junker mentioned, and a pretty prominent one at that. And when you look at Harvey Smith and other Arkane guys talking about choices and consequences, emergent gameplay and how much freedom their game has, it's obvious Smith is trying to recreate what he did in Deus Ex.
Or maybe they want to make a game that has choices and consequences, emergent gameplay and freedom.
Or maybe they want to make a game that has choices and consequences, emergent gameplay and freedom.
Well, I actually read most of the interviews with Harvey Smith and Rafael Colantonio. They use phrases like "that kind of game" and name Deus Ex and TTLG games when they talk about how their game works and how it relates to the rest of the mainstream. I don't see how you can not make the connection to Deus Ex. Arkane was clearly going for that risky, undergroundish, deeper-than-it-looks game that is too unconventional for publishers to fund, that they only dared to develop because other unorthodox games like Bioshock were successful and that brings back the freedom and choice from the good ol' times of DE1 and Thief that modern games lack and so on and so on innovation nostalgia not mainstream bla bla bla. The thing is, Arkane already did this with a game that actually failed because it was too risky for publishers, and too unorthodox. It's called the Crossing, died around '09 and what's left of that is low-view youtube trailers and a demo at Arkane they play with new employees. You can rate me dumb all you want, but not seeing that Dishonored is Arkane's attempt at Deus Ex 3 is being blind.
You can rate me dumb all you want, but not seeing that Dishonored is Arkane's attempt at Deus Ex 3 is being blind.
But there's already a Deus Ex 3.
But there's already a Deus Ex 3.
Really? Do I have to respond to this? This is like saying "But hell is burning and fiery, it can't be cold!" when someone says "It's cold as hell."
But there's already a Deus Ex 3.
We don't speak of invisible war
Really? Do I have to respond to this? This is like saying "But hell is burning and fiery, it can't be cold!" when someone says "It's cold as hell."
Why not just drop the entire subject, this will save us all some time and drama.
I gotta say some of the hints seemed like they were made for retards. I had them enabled because I just wanted to know if there isn't some very unique mechanic but very soon I realized they wouldn't teach me anything new. As for the hints between loading times, my game loaded to fast I couldn't read them so I had no problem with those annoying me. I still don't see why it's so bad they tried to make "Deus Ex" game. They didn't fully succeed but we still have a great game that gives you options. Not many options but you can modify them with your ideas and twists.
I never even said it's bad to make a Deus Ex game, I said I found the way they shout it at you at every corner while it's not completely true annoying. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline] The hints for retards are another indicator of what I was saying but apparently saying something with content beyond literal words is considered "Drama" in this thread.
Can't tell if retarded or just really bad troll...
I say Dishonored is Arkane's Deus Ex 3, elowin doesn't understand it, it irritates me and I voice that and Kirbyfactor says I'm causing drama. Where do you see trolling in there?

Nobody says 'oh no you can't make a first person shooter your obviously just trying to copy Doom'. The Thief series had very similar gameplay to Dishonoured as well and guess what? It's completely fine. Guess what would happen if everything anybody ever made had to be entirely original and not build on or copy from anything else? We would only have 5 video games in the entire world.

I'm saying they didn't quite make it and it annoys me how much they shout at me that they totally made it. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline] I feel like I'm in that part of SH where people argue something they claim I said or claim I implied while I actually said and wanted to say something different.
