Something tells me this game had something to do with the cancelling of Prey 2, I mean I don't think Bethesda wanting two games about assassin bounty hunters going up against each other.
We don't know if Prey 2 has been cancelled or not. Only PS Focus, which is a fairly crap Dutch magazine, has mentioned nything about it and didn't give a source.

NEVER AGAIN
I just hope swordfighting wont be completely buttfuck boring.
Holy shit this game looks awesome, I hadn't heard anything about it in at least a month. I was worried it got tanked or something.
Reminds me a lot of Bioshock Infinite.
Oh man, Dark Messiah + Bioshock + Mirror's Edge
I'm psyched.
However, Dark Messiah was filled with bugs, plus Bethesda's track record with bug testing is ... not that great. I'm hoping it won't be killed off by a bad launch or something.

I'll be honest, I find interesting swordplay hard to imagine without something like a Wii remote, happy to be proven wrong though.
I doubt this game can turn out like Brink, sure it wont be as "wow" as the cinematic trailer because games aren't that smooth, Brink was targeted as a multiplayer game though I believe, this appears to be more singleplayer based, also different developers, I'd stop worrying until we see some actual gameplay trailers.
I wonder what engine this is running on.
Modified UE3 from what I remember being written in the OP.
Kind of weird that Viktor is working on this, because the screenshot with the Podwalker thing instantly made me think of City 17.
I'm always happy to learn about new IPs, but as an announcement from Bethesda? I have to say I was being a little optimistic for Fallout 4 as the big news; I really enjoy the Fallout universe, always' intrigued me a real lot.
Oh well I'll be keeping an eye on this.

bethesda is publishing it, not making it. I wouldn't worry about bugs right now
Some of the shots in the city make me think of early HL2 concepts, its odd.
Would you guys please stop saying "It looks like HL2", because we already know that. Viktor (from Valve, worked on HL2 promo art or something like that) is working on this game with them too.

Usually the publisher does the testing, so Bethesda is probably doing the testing for this game.
I thought that railcar was a Combine APC the first time I saw it, it's a very similar art design mixed with some steampunk in my opinion.
I like it, though.
Awesome artstyle, any info as to what platforms it's coming out on?

That's what I meant, that if Bethesda got their hands on it, it might just devolve into a bug fest.
Un an unrelated note, when I heard that Bethesda bought Arkane, I really hoped that Arkane would be on the Skyrim team, making the combat.
Why does everyone insist on doing weird sums with old games to try to make sense of something none of us have played yet?
HL2 + Mirrors Edge + Skyrim - bugs * Bioshock = Dishonored.
Of course it will have influences but let's just wait to play it before we start comparing it to games.

Because its a way of relating something unknown to things we are more familiar with.
Melee combat in Dark Messiah is SO FUCKING SATISFYING. If they implemented the same or even similar combat system, day 1 buy.

This game just looks abselutely genius.
Just hope it won't be too buggy.
Of course a lot of the shit looks like HL2!
they've got the dude who basically made City 17 working on the game
Looks great but pissed off with the Steamworks part.
Hate buying games yet you won't even fucking own them.
