Also if you possess the assassin guarding near Daud he will say "Nice try Corvo" or something similar, but he still won't do anything.
Does being spotted by the assassins in mission 2 affect the Ghost and Shadow achievements?
Does being spotted by the assassins in mission 2 affect the Ghost and Shadow achievements?
Yes, you are able to sneak around them and choke them out though.
Yes, anything that can get alerted (those indicator over head) will have an effect on ghost and shadow. I'm not sure about dogs though. Pissed me off that Weepers fall into the same category. They have extraordinary awareness for someone almost dead. By the way what items/bone charms you find useless. For me it's incendiary bolts, springrazors and bone charms that do something with rats, adrenalin (okay, I guess these are good for lethal playthrough) or air assassination.

They're pretty useless if you play non-lethal, but fun if you want to make chaos!
I just finished a playthrough without using dark vision It was much, much more fun I thought
I just finished a playthrough without using dark vision It was much, much more fun I thought
For me it feels almost like cheating when you use them.
Yeah... I feel dirty for using dark vision. This game gives you ways to spy your enemies without magic and I still can't help myself and use the x-ray.
For me it feels almost like cheating when you use them.
I got the same feeling! Personally I would have preferred more real-world 'powers', such as a grappling hook or some such. So that the movement became more Assassin's Creed and actually driven by our character's physical strength rather than ~magic~~ The ability to grasp ledges and hang there and climb certain vertical surfaces would have made it a lot more enjoyable and dynamic as well. Imagine hanging off of a ledge with only your fingers showing as a guard walks by

And I've never used dark vision, it just seemed like it would ruin a good part of the challenge and fun. And I kinda regret having played with the objective markers too, I thought they would be necessary but I'm pretty sure not having them wouldn't have been a problem for most objectives.
Even when you do a lethal playthrough, most bone charms do not give you that much of an advantages or are simply useles. I am doing a lethal playthrough on very hard. It is to easy, you can take out most guards without any major problems.
So, did anyone catch the scene where Pierro [sp]looks at Callista through a keyhole while she is taking a bath, and then open the door and walk in oblivious just to see what she would say?[/sp]

Seriously lost. I tried my best to follow clues, follow guard conversations, and just explore, but I got frustrated with that because some objectives are very sparsely detailed or loosely described, and you often go in not blind, but wearing sunglasses at night at the very least. This was a problem that I figure could be remedied with more in world clues, hints, tips, but maybe those are there and for all my reading I just missed them. I could see a smarter player or person being able to do it with some challenge but I played relatively smartly I think and I couldn't find my way around some of the problems and objectives in the game without a little bit more help than was given.
I used Dark Vision twice on my first playthrough, once to see what it did and again because I forgot. I can see why it's a great spell but I just never used it.

I hate the Flooded District, I mean it is so frustrating and irritating to get through.
I found what could be a perfect setup for the Daud DLC. It stood out to me a lot.
Rinaldo, do the job as you were told and do not question my planning again. Yes, the women who meet in the ruins of the Brigmore manor possess abilities like our own. And they use poisons, administered by dart. But just as you share my ability to blink across space through the transversal trick, you also inherit my resistence to some toxins. As I told you when you first joined us, it is another of my gifts that, whoever serves me loyally shares in some of my power. This may or may not aid you against their poisons. The leader of the Brigmore witches must pay for her betrayal. If you succeed, your share will be enough to build a fine home in Serkonos in your old age, assuming you live. -Daud.
Thoughts?
I'm looking through this thread seeing all the people talking about Dark Vision and stuff then realizing I must have made the game several times harder for myself the first and second times through. For both of them I only upgraded blink to 2, vitality to 2, and agility to 1. For actual upgrades I think that the only one I got was the one that dampens your footsteps.

I mean it can be useful, but really I prefer to sneak around and lean around corners and do it properly Really it's not even that much easier with dark vision
I only used Dark Vision a couple times to see on the other side of doors, at angles too steep for looking through the keyhole. What I thought was really nerfed was Blink. It made the game a lot easier, being able to just teleport through. So for my next playthrough, I'm not buying any other powers for that one achievement, but also will avoid using Blink. I ended up playing around with a lot of the powers, but found agility 2 and blink 2 were all you really needed most of the time. If you find the game too hard, adding dark vision and time warp will allow you to get past literally anything. If you find the game too easy, chances are you are using one or both of these powers. Anyway, I finished a low chaos playthrough. Was disappointed really. Not that I expected a huge success from this game, but up until [sp]you get poisoned[/sp] the game was good. After that... it felt a little rough, and the ending was disappointing. Not Mass Effect 3 disappointing mind you, but still weaker than expected.

I found that the Flooded District really did not fit the game at all for some reason, the pacing got a bit slow and I was quite confused. They should have thought of something different, the whole area and characters were really uninteresting to me. I really liked every level in the game except that one.
But there's already a Deus Ex 3.
Project Snowblind was supposed to be Deus Ex 3 but after the criticism (and utter failure) of Invisible War they decided to put it in its own universe instead of using the Deus Ex universe. That being said Human Revolution is technically the 4th game in the series (3rd if you don't count Invisible War).
For anyone interested in the lyrics of the song during the end credits, I found a video with them in the description. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpOSy7-dVqc&feature=related
The vocals are terrible, the song felt out of place.
Really? I thought it fit in perfectly with the feel of the game, but each to their own I suppose
Well, this is only my humble opinion. It simply felt out of place for me.
Screw the end credits, this is the best song in the game:
