I think if you read the texts in-game it's heavily implied that the Regent/Spymaster introduced the Plague as a way of dealing with poverty in the city
Guess I missed that being directly mentioned.

The non-lethal method of taking him out involves broadcasting a recording of him flat out saying he did that.
Is this legit?

I was going to wait until a steam sale to get this but I doubt steam will go much cheaper than this without having to wait a year
I've used websites like CJ's-CDkeys before fine so I know the general concept of cd-key websites is good, but was just wondering if this particular site was trustworthy since this is the cheapest *region free* key I could find online.
For those curious, it's legit. Installing now!
Decided to just take the plunge. Only reviews of this website I could find were from 2-4 years ago when they gave you games by gifting between accounts, and all those reviews were "don't trust this place!!" but they just send a key nowadays so

I had really hoped that I could just walk out and be bros with all the guards after I did that on my non-lethal playthrough, unfortunately that wasn't the case.
I didn't even know that you could kill tallboys with the sword. I've always hid from them, and the one defending the Regent was a pain in the ass (I couldn't aim for shit).
I always avoided them because I knew trying sleep darts on them would be a bad idea. But I knew about the achievement. I was surprised they had their own unique death animation. I still have problems killing them with sword but yesterday I did manage to do 2 tallboy kills chain.

Extra Punctuation regarding Dishonored.

It seems unkind, but really he was extremely complimentary of most aspects of the storytelling.

On my lethal kill the fuck out of everyone and everything playthrough I killed him then played that anyways, I wish it actually did something.
When I enter the tape, nothing happens.
[sp]why are Pendleton and Martin dead at the end? I think I may have accidently missed part of the story after blinking up to the top of the light house after getting off the elevator[/sp]
[sp]IIRC it says why in the audiograph located on a desk up a bit from the war table. He says that he wants to tie up the loose ends and make sure no one remembers and knows what he did to get into power. It sounded kinda like he felt either a little bad, or that he was starting to become delusional with power. There is a lot of evidence for the latter as other people say he was changing when he realized he could get so much power thanks to Corvo.
Also, the only complaints I had are that some areas felt really really linear: ex: The Sokolov bridge, the part with the bridge you HAD to go on the bridge, I tried to wing my ass in the water to sneak past it all, but I couldn't. Also the lighthouse was really easy to beat. Maybe it was because it was low chaos, but I used the maintenance thing to get to the harbour side entrance, then blinked up over the wall of light, then up again past the other one in the courtyard, and then to the top of where the lift was, and down into the lift. I didn't have to strangle anyone. And then when I got up there, no guards. All I had to do was choke out Havelock and open a door... It was kinda disappointing. But the low chaos ending really made me feel warm inside, so glad I did it first instead of my kill everything that moves playthrough. Overall, I really liked the atmosphere of the game, and feel of most parts of the game, and the whole thing in general. I just loved the london-y feel, throwing in an industrial revolution thanks to whales and throw in the black death during it.[/sp]
Sorry for the length.

Yeah, I wanted to mail pictures and a nice letter to Bethesda Softworks. Yeah I never considered Reddit or anything but I'm going to do that now.
Thanks

Make sure it's the lit up versions, they always look better.

I just [sp]swam out to one of the rocky outcrops, got on top of it then walked across the thick cables to get on top of the walls, skirted around the next wall, climbed over the pipes and whatnot over the bridge then rode the elevator up[/sp]
Super duper easy
UUUGHHH
On the 2nd mission, with the golden cat
[sp]Broke into the nobleman's house, doing no-kill for the mission. Find a rat tunnel, use it, and then open the secret bookcase that leads back out into the main room where I put a couple of guys to sleep. Little did I know... one of them happened to be laying down right infront of said bookcase.
Next thing I know his body is "crushed" (or rather disappeared) from the bookcase opening. Sure enough, counted as my only kill at the end of the mission :C[/sp]

I've accidentally killed unconcious people too
I was going to get the [sp]brand to brand the High Overseer with for a non-lethal takedown[/sp] but I accidentally threw him down some stairs and he dead
Also do not shoot people standing over ledges, they WILL die from the fall damage.

I did that once to a guard but his leg snagged and it looked like a really painful position, sure he'll never be able to walk again but at least he's alive.
I agree with you but I loved the Masquerade. That kind of James Bond "hiding in plain sight" thing always appeals to me.
Yes, hiding in plain sight is great, but Dishonored just doesn't do it really well. Noone suspects a thing, you can even pull out your weapons and steal shit without anyone caring. Even the restricted areas are piss-easy to get into, noone cares if you steal a key or two.
And another thing: If you manage to kill Lady Boyle without anyone seeing, but you don't dispose of the body, as soon as someone finds it they will be looking for you. Yeah, yeah, you're dressed as that crazy assassin, and I would be suspicious too if I found a body and a guy was dressed like that, but come on - everyone's wearing a mask, how do they know it was me?
It's not even hard to find out [sp]which lady Boyle it is. If that was a real challenge, this mission would be much more interesting. But even if you don't read their diaries, you get the option to seduce them with their specific thing of liking, like talking about music to the one who likes that, and getting the slutty one to her room.[/sp] There is no challenge in this mission at all, except maybe for getting the runes out among the tallboys.

How do you actually talk to them? When I did they just asked if I was some distant cousin of someone else.
Also, signing the guestbook means that when you go for the [sp]Lord Regent[/sp], there's a note on his desk saying someone attended the Boyle party as you.
It's cool how each Boyle has a different plans for the person who "wins" their game. [sp]One wants to fuck the winner, the other is interested in music and the last one is scared someone is going after her. I never had to kill the last so I don't know how the conversation goes, but for the slut you can make her go to either her room or cellar, the music fan will of course go with you to the music room or you had to tell her someone has an important message for her in the cellar.[/sp]

Yeah, it's a great idea, but it's horribly executed, the way Corvo automatically knows all about them.
Well, I haven't tried talking to them without searching for clues. When I went to talk to them I always knew everything there was.

My first time through that mission was as follows: [sp] I went to the front door, where the woman dropped her invitation. In a not-so-challenging way I went to pick it up, and got in. When I got in, I walked around a bit, and heard that they had the same costume, but different colours. Then I got contacted by that lord who's in love with her, and he told me her name. Then the woman that asks for drinks asked me for a drink, I got her one, and she told me the colour of her costume. Then I talked to Boyle, asked her to follow me to the basement, knocked her out, sent her off, and went back.[/sp]
That was incredibly dissatisfying. What had I actually done, except for talking to two people and asked one to go to the basement?
Later, I even found out that you can [sp] ask her to go to the basement to meet someone, even if you haven't met with the lord.[/sp]
It's just too damn easy.
Finished it, High Chaos ending...fucking shit :(.
I think the Lady Boyle party could have been made a bit more interesting if the [sp]invitation[/sp] wasn't given to you at the start of the mission. I mean it makes it too damn easy to get inside. Also with preparation the one inside the [sp]art dealer's safe[/sp] would have been fucking useful.
Even without the invitation it's very easy to get there. You just need to use blink, once you are inside the garden no one bothers you. That reminds me, on my lethal playthrough I went in undetected, killed everyone and once I was out a guard told me "Enjoy the party, sir."
