I keep making stupid fucking mistakes (accidently popping out in front of a group of soldiers, even though I know they're there, or - just recently I threw a bomb at Martin when I freed him, by mistake of course! I thought I was going to equip my heart, I wanted to hear what she had to say about him. Bomb got thrown at him and blew his leg off instead) and because the lack of autosave, I have to restart from the beginning of each mission. It's really frustrating.
Will remind myself to F5 more from now on.
Just use blink a lot and you'll be fine.

In most PC games I press F5 nearly every ten seconds.
Annoying as fuck when they bind something else on it than quicksave.
Horrible when I can't rebind quicksave to it.
There is an autosave, but only after major actions - it autosaves once it detects you've arrived in the Boyle Manor for example
I just bought this from the sale. Is there a way to crank up the FOV higher than 85? Also, should I start playing on the hardest difficulty?
Unreal engine, so there's probably a config file you can fiddle with
EDIT: Found a possible candidate, I haven't tried it myself
...Steam/steamapps/common/dishonored/engine/config/BaseEngine.ini
Under the [UnrealEd.EditorEngine] section
I'm guessing it's GameFOVAngle since the other candidate FOVAngle is already set to 90 in my file
EDIT: Welp, I'm probably wrong since neither of them worked. TO GOOGLE
EDIT2: Well, this is embarrassing. Here's me trying to be helpful, and a quick google brings up this: http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/10/09/dishonored-custom-fov/
The 'Harm's way' achievemend sucks dicks.
Just started playing through Dishonored, and only now got around to posting my thoughts.
Just loving it so far. The stealth system in this game is that awesome type where it's a breeze to stay out of site and it feels empowering. Teleporting from place to place is so satisfying, and I'm constantly looking around my environment for places to reach. Just playing through the first assassination, it seemed like there is going to be tons of replay value as well considering the amount of ways to complete the objectives and the secrets hidden in each map.
You should really be able to skip every scene where you can't control the character.
Even though it's only a couple of minutes, it's really annoying to sit on a boat at the start of every level after you've heard the dialogue more than once.
So when I got [sp]back to the Hound Pits Pub after being poisoned and betrayed by the Loyalists, I kept dying because the Tallboys patrolling outside kept spotting me and obviously the 20 or so City Watchmen would run up to where I was to slaughter me to death, and because I'm a pacifist faggot I chose to just die and attempt to sneak by all of them.[/sp]
[sp]Eventually, I was like "Fuck this shit, I can't sneak by any of these assholes. Those Tallboys keep seeing me no matter where I hide." So I decided to go Rambo as fuck on all of them and fucked them up with my sword. I killed every last City Watchmen with the exception of the Tallboys. And then I was like "FINALLY, now I can explore this place in peace. I think I'll see what Piero and Sokolov need my help with."[/sp]
[sp]I got into the workshop through the balcony access, and they were like "Hey Corvo, we can program this Arc Pylon to knock everybody out."[/sp]
You have no idea what my face was when this happened.

[sp] I've heard that if you kill legitimately every single watchman/tallboy, they say something like "Wow, we've been working for a week to get rid of them and you did it in one swoop"[/sp]

It sucks when you're looking just to jump into a mission and replay it, only to have to sit through 10 minutes at the hound pits pub + a boat ride.
I've got to say, this game does a great job of making you want to replay the whole thing with a different playstyle. At first, I was a bit more stealthy, but near the end, as I got a fuckton of power and upgrades, I'd just slaughter anyone I see. I want to do a Ghost Pacifist run now that I know the layout a bit more. I think doing a high chaos run and then a low chaos one is the best way to go.
Also, CRANK THE DIFFICULTY UP TO MAX! Otherwise the game is too easy.
Do stealth kill disintegrated bodies count towards chaos? It feels like they shouldn't, unless breathing in too much corpse-ash makes you vulnerable to the plague.
Also, I love the fuck out of possession.
"Doot doot doo...I love being a guard, all I have to do is walk about here in this courtyard, while all my mates watch my bac-OH MY, I am suddenly overcome by a terrible urge to walk into this secluded allyway. What an odd thing to happen. OH MY, is that a big pile of bodies? It certainly looks like one. I wonder why nobody mentioned it. And why is there now a knife in my neck? This is the strangest day eve-"
Cool, they added the new DLC achievements on Steam already
I really hope Ill be able to buy the DLC in the Netherlands.

It was one of the easiest mission. Don't go the way Tallboys are patrolling.
The very first trio of guards was tough for me to figure out. I ended up using a rat.

[sp]I tried my best to avoid them. I'd be completely away from them and hidden somewhere inside of the pub, but they'd see me through windows. The high-ground on that part is extremely exposed, making it really difficult to slip by unnoticed.[/sp]

[sp]On those dudes, I just waited for them to walk away and then I jumped up on the concrete siding of the stairs and blinked to the small overhang right above the front door. From there you can access the second floor through an open window.[/sp]
Wow, that good ending is really anti-climatic. [sp]You get to hear Havelock talk about his remorse, then you just blink behind him and choke him out. After freeing Emily, "Yay Corvo! Do I get to be Empress now " but the actual ending cinematic is the one you want out of all of them obviously.[/sp]
[sp]I think the good ending would have been better if you saw Martin and Pendleton poisoned and an audiograph that just says Havelock's speech, but then you hear Emily call for help, leading you to what happened in the bad endings with Emily and Havelock at the top of the tower (which was way more climatic btw). However, if you save her, it would have the original good ending, and if you don't save her, a more bittersweet, in-the-middle ending happens.[/sp]
In fact, the entire story was kinda lame, which is a shame because the game's got a great setting with so much backstory and so many details to it, and I feel like the actual story didn't do justice for it.
Also another thing that annoyed me was that the mission select doesn't count for the achievements like "ghost". Say I accidentally got caught once and forgot about it. I'd then have to start over the game or reload an early save when I beat the game instead of just replaying that one mission again.
What I really like though is how the chaos level influenced a bunch of stuff in the game, such as how Samuel likes you or not, the bleakness of the world, and supposedly in that scene where [sp]right when you get poisoned but you're still at the party, the picture Emily's drawing is Corvo with his mask off and it says "daddy" if you're low-chaos, but if you're high-chaos, she's drawing Corvo killing things with blood everywhere. Really nice details that you wouldn't know on your first playthrough.[/sp]
Other than that, I really enjoyed this game, I just wish I didn't suck at it so much (I played on normal difficulty and it still took me a good 12-14 hours doing all stealth).

I also wish I had a PC capable of running this so I could have played it with a mouse instead of a controller, I mean when I see stuff like this:
I am loving this game. But I find that the double jump and level 2 teleporting abilities make combat too easy. Even on Very Hard, if they pull out a gun, I just space myself and insta-kill after a double jump.

I hate how slowly I have to do things with a controller, because that looks like insane fun. I don't think I'll even try a high-chaos playthrough on my PS3 knowing that it would be insanely hard, maybe in a few years I'll have a PC capable of running this well and I'll see this for 5 bucks.

[sp]I sat there and listened to Havelock talk. I wasn't even trying to remain hidden. I just walked up to him, and he went on and on about a bunch of bullshit, and then he said 'Go on Corvo, take the key." So I just grabbed it and he immediately pulled his sword on me. It was pretty fucking awesome until I shot him in the face with a sleep dart.[/sp]
Stores dont sell the DLC in Netherlands.
sadfce :c

I did this awesome [sp] kill in which I entered slowmo, went up to him, turned his arm around and made him shoot in his own face [/sp]
It was really lovely seeing that happen

That happens every time if you counter kill him. Most of the targets (all of them) have special death animation for that.
The DLC isn't available in the Czech Republic. I hope we get it later rather than never.
anybody get the DLC/try it yet? I know its awful early, just wondering if anybody tried it out. I'm thinking about getting it myself. If I do I'll let you guys know how it is.

I got it gifted, installing at the moment!

Alright guys, this DLC is GOOD.
It's the challange it should've had, you dont get 'Kill X mission' but instead, you have to get the cleus to figure it out.
Very well done.
The DLC is...meh. I only like the survival thing, the rest are very hard. By hard I mean there's a mission where you must steal six eggs from a mansion - and it gives you no stars if you do so, since you must also steal all other possessions in the place in order to get a decent score. There's a challenge, Assassin's Run, where one or two missed crossbow bolts means the enemies warp right next to you and hack you to death with swords. I kinda like the concept of finding clues around the map in Mystery Foe, but it's executed shoddily and the map is extremely hard to navigate undetected unless you stick to the roof.
There is, however, a lovely challenge involving Bend Time. For example, you get 20 seconds in order to kill 10 people in the room in Bend Time, afterwards the game scores you for innovation and other stuff.
The rest are garbage, unfortunately. Especially the speedrun one where half your Blinks end with you falling into the void and getting instantly reset to the start.

This is just my own opinion, by the way, I do like a good challenge but some of these are so frustrating I can't even get one star in them.
Might as well give my opinion since I went ahead and bought them anyway, cuz' I couldn't resist.
They're pretty fun, if you're into the whole "grinding and trying 9999 times over" type deal. So I can see why Namelezz didn't enjoy them. With this said, I think they're brilliant fun. They're really hard, but I mean I assume they were suppose to be that way so you could get more hours out of them. That's how I feel anyway.
As Namelezz said, the bending time challenge is probably the most fun. being able to look at all the entry points and pick when to try and kill everybody in the room is VERY fun.
I never tried all of the survival ones where you have to kill all the people, or the stealth ones. but I loved the speed trials as well. there is one where you just try to touch checkpoints to gain more time, and others where you just try to reach the end. I found the checkpoint one the most enjoyable, but also the hardest.
All in all I found the DLC very enjoyable, but my opinion might be a little bias as I already loved dishonored to begin. So if you liked Dishonored, you'll probably love the DLC. but if you rage quit pretty easily and what not, might not be for you. I mean, its only 5 bucks. isn't much to lose if you don't like them.
So I was at my friend's house watching my friend's first experience with Dishonored. Right at the part where The Empress is supposed to die, he said "Fuck it, I'm cutting out the middleman," and shot her in the head before the assassins could kill her.
Is it possible to have a high chaos stealth run? Is chaos just killing overall, or killing "loudly"?
