Yup. I still boot up the old Mount just to play some.
:siren: update nr 5:siren:
News came to me that Tansugai Noyan, one of the lords of the khergit lands wished to talk to me. He had been one of the few lords who had tried to help me when I was new in this land, so I hurried to where he was.

He asked for a favour. His father had been taken prisoner by the swadians, and I had told him about my past. I knew the streets of the capital city Dhirim inside out and it so just happened that he was being held captive there. He wanted me to go in there, and break free his father. It would be dangerous, but I would be rewarded extremely well.
I accepted, but did not move out just yet. I had to meet her.

Lady Mechet was the sister of Nasugei Noyan, a man I had only met on the battlefield. A most competent figher, but that is not important. The moments I spent with Mechet was short, since she did not want to draw attention to herself as she was bethroded to another man, but I knew the feelings I harbored for her were answered. Sadly, politics stood in the way and I could not yet ask for her hand. I had to win the favour of her brother before I could do so, even though I had shown myself worthy of her hand.
It was when I spent my time in Tulga that news came of the Sarranide sultanate had laid siege on Durquba.

I quickly rushed there only to see the gathered might of the Sarranide sultanate, fighting to take control over the city. I knew it would be useless to even try to charge through the lines to fight in the city, so I sent for help to take care of a castle of theirs instead.

[sp]I tried to fight this one two times, but goddamn the AI is mentally retarded which ended up making me die and lose the battle because they get stuck on the ground and in a tower where the enemy can't reach them. Infuriating to say the least so I had to let this one slide.[/sp]
The battle to take over Durrin castle was uneventful, the garrison was small and my battlehardened men conquered it without too much of a hassle. I awarded it to Bashetur, a man who had proven himself time after time as an most valuable ally, showing the wits on the battlefield and knowledge on how to lead people. He would've been considered a savage by me just three months earlier, but now I would count him as one of my most trusted men.

We celebrated the overtaking of Durrin castle when the news came. Durquba had fallen.
A while later we stood outside the city once again. This time it was in the hands of the enemy and they had placed hundreds of men to guard it. I called out to my friends to gather their men to overtake the city. Once again the city of Durquba was the scene of a great battle, and I lost many good men that day.
With the city taken we marched southwards, as our scouts had seen "an army so vast, the ground bowed before them". It was the army that had taken over the city in the first place. And now we would finally face them.

Two thousand men fought on the battlefield that day, the forces were even in numbers, but my forces had the experience, the leadership which in the end brought us victory. The sultans scattered in the wind after the defeat. I did not continue to push forward, and told my friends to continue on with their daily life. The men of the enemy army was spared, and many came with us. They had heard stories of us being ruthless savages, stories about rape and things I do not wish to mention. After seeing that was not the case they wished for a better life, and I did not say no to those who sought to get a better life.
Money was flowing in now, and my kingdom was growing.

Profan's WW2 china mod server seems to be a bit broken at the moment, don't receive purchased items etc. Could do with a reset if possible.
I keep wanting to replay this, Miss the massive archer battles.
is there a go-to overhaul mod? Like Floris(I think that's it), that seemed to do a good shit load of improvements. I don't want guns necissarily, unless the updated mods with firearms are too badass to not play, but overall I want expanded game. I played 160 hours in a vanilla save, so I'm looking to see something interesting.
Does the Floris mod have a new map?
Edit: and most mods allow cities to auto-recruit? or do I need to go around recruiting and training, only to go back and pump them into my cities?
Is there a limit to key activations? My key refuses to activate Warband after I reinstalled windows.

The blood and sword mod ( i dont remember the exact name) it's very good, not quite as popular as Prophecy of Pendor for some reason.

It is an overhaul mod, whereas Prophesy of crapdor has a new map with new factions.
If it wasn't for the new factions and the new map, POP never would of made it onto the boards.

Eh? From what I've read, Blood and Sword completely fucks up any sense of balance, gives everyone 1000 troop armies, and 100,000 denars from day one. PoP gives a new map, new factions, new weapons, new armor, new AI system, new unique minor facton system, deeper Kingdom management, and a helluvalot more than BaS.

From what you've heard.
Theres no balance in Native, and B&S *is* balanced. It gives 300 troop armies, BUT, you can easily build up your own army if you have the right background. The economy is revamped, and a suit of plate armour costs 11,000 denars. The Barbarian background starts with 0 denars, a good sword and very good stats.
Pop gives a bland map, uninteresting factions, badly textured armour, a very overpowered sprinkle of somewhat invincible deathknights everywhere you go, which are faster than you, the Kingdom management is a laugh because it takes 300 hours to get that stage. Ive got 242 hours clocked for 5-6 months.
For the first 70 days, i was stuck with 80 militia that i had no hope in hell of upgrading and sustaining, and i was constantly raped by the minor parties.
The only way i could defeat the ridiclous knight parties of 5 was by couch lancing all of them, which was unreliable.
Why? because 5 knights could smash through 80 militia and 5 barclays footmen as if they were fighting wooden dummies.
I was on day 80 in POP and i didn't have a single unit recruited from a village with decent armour. In b&s, it takes 30 seconds, AND there are troop trees for ranged, melee and calvary which are randomly selected when you try to recruit.
So if i go to a village and look for recruits, i could get an offer of
5-10 calvary for a high price
7-15 infantry for a medium price
Or 10-20 ranged for dirt cheap prices.
/rant
PoP = challenging
BaS = boring, you can get everything at day 5, not challenging at all, I expected a change from native but just got a more boring native mod.
Are you talking about blood and steel?
personally i hate the native challenge of grinding your character and armor until you can actually do shit. Once only, because after that you have to grind a new army.
So any mod that allows you to recruit faster is more fun than native imo. It doesn't mean it gets easier. It takes less time.
It's not like they went town to town just to recruit a couple men in real life while dragging an entire army with them in real life.
Fast and numerous recruiting is pretty realistic especially if you are a vassal/king of the kingdom. Usually in the middleages the fiefs had some sort of an agreement with the lords and kings to arm and send a decent number of troops gathered from the townsmen to take part in campaigns when the nobleman requested.
So what would you guys recommend then? If floris is just a giant collection of mods, is it good?

It crashed for me when I tried it, but from the screenshots it seems pretty fun. And yes, it's a BIG clump of mods, skins and whatever.Almost everything is changed in this pack
God dam it. I tried the trial for this game. And i absolutely fucking loved it. but alas, i can not afford to purchase it at the moment.

Floris is better native. But in the end it's still just native.
So floris doesn't change the behavior the game, it's the same map, same characters etc? Is there a new map mod that I can use as well. I just am interested in a new experience without the unreasonable grind of before.
The new floris 2.3 seems pretty sweet, I think I'll do that.
The Sarranid Sultanate just tried to retake a castle from me, it was a massacre. I lost around 110 troops and they lost like 850.
So is it possible to find a new world map to import into floris when it finishes?
This is what I saw after conquering reyvadin with the khergits

Floris can be applied to mods i think. There's some instructions on the taleworlds forum.
I don't know how it's done though.
Can anyone tell me what happened to Profanwolf's WW2 China Battlefield whatever server?
Got 8 rechambers in one sequence with another guy in duel. Awesome
