The warband siege experience
1. Defeat rhodok siege defenders at the wall
2. send only 4 people into the town center for some reason
3. get shot by a rhodok crossbowman right when you spawn. lose 3/4 of health
4. send 4 even crappier people into the castle
5. get shot by rhodok crossbowman right after you spawn. die. FALL BACK GUYS WE NEED TO START OVER AGAIN
Rohodk Crossbowmen yeah.
Yeah that's a bit silly. But it's the same on the wall. You kill 90% of the defenders, retreat and start away from the wall with them on the wall again.
I hate you wf&s
I wanted to poison a water supply.
I got caught.
Execution.
I forgot to save the whole game.
I hate you.
Imo it's worse in warband. In wf&s you can atleast buy troops easily and earn money easily.

A bit too easily. Raiding villages in wf&s will make you bitchrich in matter of a few ingame days.
I remember buying mercenaries with the starting money, and raiding a polish village.
That gave me enough to buy more mercenaries. Repeat repeat repeat... and soon I found myself having a glorious army
of best equipped mercenaries, excellent armor and weapon and marching towards besieging a major polish city.
It was fun as hell though :v:
You can also earn a shitton trading. It's so easy to earn money trading it feels like cheating.
when i start a new game i take a loan to buy my first troops.
I like how soon you can have a half decent army in wf&s.

It kind of throws more straight into the action. I actually kind of like it.
I just recently started a new Warband game, completely fresh, with a maxed out character.
Its god damn fun, and doesn't really loose much on fun value, since I know all the leveling up and all that already :v:
Even still, I don't see the point in making an entire mod that starts you at the end game but doesn't start the quests there. Yep, let me recruit my 20 men at a time to take on 4 for the tutorial. It seems like a shortcut to the actual end-game where you can do the same thing, meaning kill people in one hit, while not having the same happen to you as it does in this mod.
I checked out Brytenwalda. It is fairly nifty looking but I CBA to figure it out at the moment because of how much it adds.
That's the point basically, not quests or advancing through the game adquiring fame and money and all that stuff, but big battles with all sorts of weapons and armors and different units. When I first played it I was amazed by the sheer amount of crazy and weird weapons, there's even an axe-gun, that's bloody awesome. I really wouldn't say it's a really well made mod on which they've worked a lot, I view it as a fun one.
It simply may not be the kind of gameplay you desire and you get more fun from other things, that's why you might enjoy other mods more than B&S, as I do too (I really don't have the patience anymore to play those massive difficult mods simply because the gameplay has become too repetitive for me, I'm talking about quests and that sort of stuff you can do. I would love a mod that would let you do more things aside from the default boring quests, fighting, or trading between cities and joining tournaments and that stuff. I don't really know how to explain it)
It's all about tastes baby
I think blood and steel is todays A shield Lying On The Water.
It had tons of new content and was pretty balanced too. It was all about the battles, not so much about the quests.

Its like People Soup for Stalker. It doesn't really fit into the game, but some people don't mind, and they enjoy the fun it gives.
I'm not one of those people though :v:
Are there any finished mods for Warband that feature the Roman republic?
Been watching HBO's Rome and am in a huge mood for all things to do with that time period.
You better not be a man'unter.

None that are finished.
There was one for the original mount and blade though, but i am not even sure if that was finished. It had everything you needed tho.
There was some pretty good one though.

It was something with a date.
Yeah.
I can't seem to find it on their forums though.

Brytenwalda has some sort of Roman submod
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,163534.0.html
I really know nothing about what it does though

Its not even funny how much ass these guys would kick compared to other brytenwalda units
Now why aren't there any comprehensive lord of the rings mods?
Imagine this in warband with raiding bands of orcs, uruk-hai and nazgul warparties and shit. If I didnt find M&B modding so convoluted and disorganized I'd probably start one myself, but I just keep hoping somebody comes along and makes one :[
There used to be one. You could ride those scary things and shit.
I found this on youtube though.

There was a lord of the rings mod for the original M&B back in beta called "The Last Days" (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=5204.0 OLLLLD THREAD). It was huge and amazing. Then the guy with all the code just disappeared one day and the rest of the mod team had no idea what happened to him.
They picked up the pieces (or maybe he eventually came back. I stopped keeping track) and have been slooooowly updating it. No release version yet, but their moddb page remains active, as do their forums.

Holy shit those are warband screenshot!?
I wonder if they use a new engine in Mount and Blade 2. The current one is fine, although I wouldn't mind better graphics here and there. I'd rather have it more like just a new maximum setting, than overall, so that basically anyone who played Mount & Blade could play the sequel with "low" graphics, which would be basically the same as "High" in the first game.
But honestly I'd rather have even worse graphics, but the ability to make really enormous battles.
Yeah. Better AI bigger battles, better Ai controls etc before fancy stuff.
When is TLD going to be released? 125 (61.9%)
31.10.2011 (on Halloween, because it's a monster of a mod), sometimes during the day, we suppose, when all uploading is done.
Later patches and upgrades will be announced as they near completion.
Yay!
Even though Mount and Blade's online community is terrible, me and my roommate playing Fire and Sword together is pretty fun.
Hey man, go go go go I got your back
Where are you
Behind you, keep g- OH GOD I'M HIT.
WHERE ARE THEY SHOOTING FROM, I CA- BLARGH
This happens virtually all the time, and I still think it's terrific fun. I think if I didn't have someone to talk and joke with the entire time, I'd get really bored and pissed off with it. Also, a mounted cavalry charge into a line of musketmen is terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.
Also saw a guy with a shield on his back, a shield on his arm and a sword running around in warband MP, practically invincible when fighting archers. It was glorious.
fucking why cant i use 2handers or rifles on a horse in wf&s
this is bullshit
A friend of mine once defended a castle from 6000 nords in blood and steel with only 500 men because he had the rocket launcher and grenades. It is a little ridiculous sometimes.

Aww no cheating wf&s sucksss.
How good a computer do I need to play this?
I have a GeForce 210 and a 2.00Ghz Processor.
