How good a computer do I need to play this? I have a GeForce 210 and a 2.00Ghz Processor. [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline] Yeah, I know.
I got one gig of RAM and a 1.6ghz you can run all of them [editline]23rd October 2011[/editline]
Aww no cheating wf&s sucksss.
next time, read a post before you start talking I dont want to cheat, I want to do what i did in warband, use 2handers on horses and long guns on horseback (which is possible)
Which is cheating. Noone can wield a 2 hander on a horseback. And there's a reason why they use carbines on horseback. It just doesn't work. Learn how to hussar / dragoon.
Warning: Nothing will be rendered. The reference rendering device was selected, but your computer only has reduced-functionality reference device installed. Install the DirectX SDK to get the full reference device. Well, that ends my foray into PC gaming. Back to my 360 I guess.

Honestly, your loss.

I don't play Mount and Blade: Warband, but... Credit ZestyLemons
Just re-installed. What's a good mod for a lot of new content?
Even though Mount and Blade's online community is terrible, me and my roommate playing Fire and Sword together is pretty fun. Hey man, go go go go I got your back Where are you Behind you, keep g- OH GOD I'M HIT. WHERE ARE THEY SHOOTING FROM, I CA- BLARGH This happens virtually all the time, and I still think it's terrific fun. I think if I didn't have someone to talk and joke with the entire time, I'd get really bored and pissed off with it. Also, a mounted cavalry charge into a line of musketmen is terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. Also saw a guy with a shield on his back, a shield on his arm and a sword running around in warband MP, practically invincible when fighting archers. It was glorious.
Shields on the back don't block arrows in Warband MP
Just re-installed. What's a good mod for a lot of new content?
Brytenwalda, definitely. Takes place in 600 AD Britannia, Caledonia and Hibernia (aka england, wales, scotland and ireland) and has all the associated factions, weapons, armors, peoples, troops types, etc. Its more of a challenging SP experience, theres a lot more factions and they actually wipe each other out. Combat is much more infantry-oriented (though there's still cavalry) and combat in general feels like it has a lot more "weight" to it, and armor actually does something significant. You should have a lot of RAM though if you want to play it (well) as it has a lot of assets that need to be loaded. I only have 2 gigs, so I need to set the game to "load textures on demand" just to get past the initial loading.. and battle scenes lag like hell because armor textures need to be loaded as they pop onto screen because of that. So if you have 3-4 gigs you should be good. It also has a lot of really retarded "realism" settings that only affect the player and nobody else, but you can turn those options off via the camp menu.
There was a lord of the rings mod for the original M&B back in beta called "The Last Days" (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=5204.0 OLLLLD THREAD). It was huge and amazing. Then the guy with all the code just disappeared one day and the rest of the mod team had no idea what happened to him. They picked up the pieces (or maybe he eventually came back. I stopped keeping track) and have been slooooowly updating it. No release version yet, but their moddb page remains active, as do their forums. http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-last-days http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php/board,20.0.html
Damn lack of automerge, anyways:
We will release this monster on 31. October 2011, not only because we should, but because we ourselves are eager to play the finished product.
HNNNGGGGG. I have now found my game diversion until TES:V is released
-snipitty-
The Mount & Musket community is pretty awesome, I should join a regiment and take part in their epic 160 player password-protected line battle servers.
Hngggggggggg TLD... Can't wait!
I haven't seen a single video or screenshot of Mount and Musket that wasn't funny in some way. [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] Scratch that, just went on the forums and there's a load of ultra-serious regiments, which strikes me as pretty sad. Also, a lot of the regiments sound pretty time consuming. If there were a few casual regiments then I might be more interested in taking part.
You have to be serious so that you can win. But imo most regimental training and tactics are useless.
Should join our regiment the 4HR go on the TS and ask for more information.
Shields on the back don't block arrows in Warband MP
They do add to your armor rating though, if the arrow hits the shield on your back. They just don't completely stop them like they do in singleplayer.
Tried every step, same result. And this is why I don't touch PC games.
'a game doesn't work on my crappy laptop, my entire pc gaming experience has been sullied'
If you can't run this game normally, try putting it in DirectX 7 in the launcher options. Could pretty much run it in that mode on a Gameboy Color.
are there any mods that improve the graphics and add new content without being ridiculously hard? also polished landscapes looks great but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to work with other mods edit: gonna try installing polished landscapes , better banners and realistic colors on top of diplomacy, wish me luck

Oh yeah, we did this when the match was live btw :v: Love this regiment
I got very addicted to the Starwars Conquest mod, but after I while I just find myself hiding behind a tree and sniping enemies. I tried Mount and Blade Warband and got straight on multiplayer, either my computer are crap or the servers have weird connection or I am just bad because EVERY ONE killed me instantly and I don't even gave them a single scratch. However this was very fun so I guess I got to try Fire and Sword as well whenever I mange to figure out how to kill stuff in warband.
There used to be one. You could ride those scary things and shit. I found this on youtube though.
Lol at the beginning when he slay all companions.

Keep playing and you'll improve eventually
I must say i feel my skill is dumbed down after playing wf&s for weeks. Swords are way too fast in warband.
Does anyone play Europe 1200?

Trust me, when I was in my old regiment, dicking about gets old really fast when it happens all the time. It's almost like a treat when get to mess about a little. [editline]24th October 2011[/editline] I'm only able to go to training once a week since I'm in Canada, but it's not that bad. The tactics really help you improve over time, if taught properly of course. Besides knowing what commands mean, it's really straight forward.
goddammit I think my wf&s save is bugged I tried doing the muscovite storyline and I'm at the part where a rebellion is launched at you. Now this would be fine and dandy but my primary capital, Moscow, was somehow captured by commoners? There's no option to siege it, either. So every fucking 5 steps I take in the overworld I get nagged by the goddamned messenger to set my capital city to the only city I can choose, which is Moscow, and since it's owned by commoners with no way to take it back, HE NEVER SHUTS THE FUCK UP. I also used up my entire faction's manpower playing whack-a-mole with the fortresses that kept getting re-taken. So I can't get my secondary capital back either unless I use some god mode thing which I'd be happy in doing since it is completely unfair how the game broke on me so far into the game to begin with. Can I use a trainer or something without getting banned from anything because stupid as it sounds, i'm really nervous about using trainers on games that are on Steam. Also am I the only one that finds With fire and sword to be bugged to shit? I'm really enjoying the game but stupid things like this happen and I get script error messages just about every time I capture a fortress. I wouldn't mind it if it weren't game-breaking.
I must say i feel my skill is dumbed down after playing wf&s for weeks. Swords are way too fast in warband.
I think they're just ridiculously slow in WF&S.
