Probably from the lords I captured and released right away. The option that like, says they've done good in battle and that you'll let 'em go. On top of that, the villages I've saved, etc. Tournaments. [editline]20th April 2012[/editline] The mod I'm using might boost it too, though.
Ah, I never release them, I just stockpile them in my castle to keep them from raising armies for a while :v: I don't think I get honor from tournament wins, that might be the mod.
Ah, I never release them, I just stockpile them in my castle to keep them from raising armies for a while :v:
Yeah, that's one benefit of keeping them. As a Monarch though, it'll raise your relation with them, so it's easier to turn your enemies on over to your side. (but at the same time, releasing them lets them go build up armies against you in the meantime.) [editline]20th April 2012[/editline] If you're planning to just be a vassal or whatever, stockpiling enemy lords is a perfectly fine strategy. Only time you'll want to ever release them is for the honor and relations.
I asked this in the other Mount and Blade thread but this one has more traffic it seems. Which is the best Mount and Blade to install? I currently have With Fire and Sword installed but it looks like Warband seems to be more popular. Also, I see there is this Mount and Musket mod that a lot of people are talking about. Should I install that? Or get that Napoleonic Wars DLC? I just got the bundle yesterday on sale and am loving With Fire and Sword, but if Warband is a overall better experience, then please tell me which way to go.

More mods, and the weapons in Fire and Sword are bullshit in SP. Don't get M&M, everyone moved to Napoleonic Wars.

I'm really glad I got it, the online is strangely addicting despite being really simple (I think anyways). Just would want to maybe fine a server or group of player that have TeamSpeak or something.
Should I play through vanilla first or get the mods in the OP?
Should I play through vanilla first or get the mods in the OP?
Depends what you mean by play through. I'd suggest getting Native Expanded at least.
Like getting mods after sinking some hours in first.
Should I play through vanilla first or get the mods in the OP?
You should get Diplomacy, it is almost the same as vanilla but it adds some extra conversation options and when you are wounded in battle your men continue fighting rather than the battle instantly finishing and your men taking unnecessary losses. Very useful in sieges.
I got the demo of Warband, its really good and I just bought it. I have a few questions: What are some things that I should know? (Things to do in game, not do etc) Am I missing anything much by not playing the original one? Ok I cant launch the game because it says "Failed to contact key server". (Ok according to steams page about this, it says during sales they sometimes run out of keys. So I cant play until they get more :( ) Wat do. And I saw a graphics mod in the OP, but the thread has no download and the new one it links to is not released, where can I get it?

Also, if you have the demo, you can't do multiplayer at all, I think.
Well I have the full game now, but I cant play it until steam restocks their keys, who knows how long that is going to take.
Cut down the amount of troops you have garrisoned in your fiefs and maybe some in your army, particularly the expensive types like mercenaries. Sell everything you loot. Maybe do some quests if you are really low. Oh, use blunt weapons and get lots of prisoners to sell. Find a tournament, bet the max amount on yourself each round. (and win each round.)
You shouldn't even consider being a Vassal if you don't have a Dye Factory at least in every town the nation you wish to join owns (unless that town is Jelkala). Get enough troops to scare off bandits (40, 60 to be on the safe side) and abuse the Sargoth/Sarranid Iron trade and the Rivacheg/Wercheg Salt trade until you can afford them. Which reminds me I'm still looking for a mod with guns in it that utuilizes Freelancer.

I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME, GODAMMIT STEAM.
Fucking hell I love this game. I'd heard stories about how Sea Raiders were challenging on low levels, but my small band of marauders and myself managed to beat them all off. Took about five hostage and got some awesome armor.
Question. What are the singleplayer differences between Warband and the original? I have the original and have no intentions of playing multiplayer, so what benefits does Warband offer in singleplayer?
The Black Mace questline in With Fire & Sword caused me so much grief that I went back to Warband.
I haven't even tried the questlines in WF&S
aw yeah. Got offered to be a merc for the Nords sometime ago. Shit's finally looking up for Leonidus the Wanderer. My band of Desert Marauders representing the Sultanate are kicking ass and taking names.
I've just got Warband and have started a new campaign . I have chosen to exterminate the kingdom of Vaegirs, so I'm killing everything in their realm. Any suggestions/advice? I'm new to this game.
so um.. [H] Dead Space Pack (1&2) [W] M&B Pack + Napoleonic Wars DLC :D?
I've just got Warband and have started a new campaign
When did you buy it? I bought it like 8 hours ago and am unable to play it due to some CD key error. I heard its only happening to some people, which is bullshit.
Question. What are the singleplayer differences between Warband and the original? I have the original and have no intentions of playing multiplayer, so what benefits does Warband offer in singleplayer?
Warband is by far more polished in term of combat, animations, mechanics and everything else, the animations in Warband while not realistic, are pretty good and doesn't look like some autistic kid swinging a sword around for the first time in his life like the first game.
When did you buy it? I bought it like 8 hours ago and am unable to play it due to some CD key error. I heard its only happening to some people, which is bullshit.
yesterday. It works fine for me.
Question. What are the singleplayer differences between Warband and the original? I have the original and have no intentions of playing multiplayer, so what benefits does Warband offer in singleplayer?
There are two major differences you'll notice right off the bat. There's a brand new map and a brand new faction. In Warband you will find it easier to become a King. You can run a business in each of the large towns. It is also possible to marry some of the ladies of the court. Combat is slightly more tactical and by that I mean armies don't always charge at each other. Sometimes they remain close and inch up to the enemy slowly. This usually only happens when a Lord is commanding the army though. As another said the animations are much smoother and believable. There is also a couple new quests added to the game. I highly recommend you get Freelancer. It comes with Diplomacy and it doesn't change anything to the game. It just adds very useful, needed features. As a person who dislikes deviating from the original vanilla game and balance, you will find no reason to not get Freelancer.
yesterday. It works fine for me.
Ah, I only bought it today, I hope they restock keys soon. For now I am redownloading demo and I will just have to play that until the full game works.
I always bump into hordes of bandits that wipe out me and my soldiers. How the hell do i do any progress.
I always bump into hordes of bandits that wipe out me and my soldiers. How the hell do i do any progress.
Or deserters that like to follow you around, rape your cash or take you prisoner and haul you long away from your quest objective.
Or deserters that like to follow you around, rape your cash or take you prisoner and haul you long away from your quest objective.
but when I do quests, the quest giver is never where he was when he gave it to me. So I can't get my reward.
