If you guys are interesting in joining an active and newly formed regiment (The 71st Highland Regiment of Foot 'MacMillan's Highlanders') with experienced officers and staff members, based in EU/NA, check out this thread: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,222868.0.html. It's a line regiment, featuring highlanders. We have two companies at the moment, with a third one being opened up shortly, specifically for Europeans- said company being under my own leadership when it is 'released'. Currently, there are many events that we partake in weekly, and I believe that you can't truly experience the mod without being in a regiment.
Regiment advertising on this thread? Really? I feel like I should reply with a 51'st regiment advertising but I'd rather not shit up the thread.
What sort of resources do you guys generally think it's acceptable to start your own kingdom on? I started with about 30,000d and an army of 60-80 well trained slavers (mostly crushers) and various other miscellaneous troops, but I'm finding it quite difficult since the all but dead Kingdom of Vaegirs keep trying to fuck me up with all of their 5 lords. Frustrating.
How does one gain build points?
you generate them slowly I think I hate sappers who just build shit randomly in the middle of nowhere instead of focusing where the team is attacking. Sappers who spam tnt everywhere are faggots.

Actually looks a lot better than the screenshots suggested. I just hope they totally revamp the interface; it's so ugly in M&B.
Alright, just started out in Warband. Looks like I need to recruit 5 dudes to take on some bandits, sounds easy enough. Also I saved while inside the merchant's house and when I loaded the save I started at some sort of world map for some reason. Is this normal?

shit, Napoleonic Wars doesn't run smoothly on my pc. Guess I'll have to stick with warband.
Regiment advertising on this thread? Really? Darn, I wasn't too interested in the game but then I saw the Angry Joe review on Napoleonic Wars and now I feel bad I missed it. Is it really that good even if you are not part of a regiment?
It's very excellent compared to other 'mods', and it's not expencive. I'd recommend it.
I just bought it. I hope I can musket someone's FACE.

Looks good, hopefully they'll be able to get some decent animations and textures.
What level do you guys reckon would be suitable to try and start my own nation, how much money do you think I should have and how many soldiers/what soldiers?
hopefully they'll make large scale battles with a updated engine that is not a complete fucking ram/cpu whore.
I'm extremely disappointed by the Napoleonic Wars DLC. It doesn't have any singleplayer to speak of and the multiplayer is just chaos.
I'm extremely disappointed by the Napoleonic Wars DLC. It doesn't have any singleplayer to speak of and the multiplayer is just chaos.
and in custom battle mode the enemies just stand still most of the time.
Welp, a waste of my money. Any of you know any good mods to help ease my disappointment? Hopefully singleplayer.
I'm extremely disappointed by the Napoleonic Wars DLC. And if you want organized multiplayer join a regiment for the weekly line battles.

Though a singleplayer for it would of been pretty awesome

Also, $10 is a lot of money for such a simple multiplayer mechanic. I enjoy it, but I really think it wasn't my money's worth.
We should have a dueling tournament between facepunchers.

I can't think of any "design" to make 200 random strangers teamwork with each other
I heard nothing but bad things about cRPG, but having put a few hours into it I'm having a lot of fun. I just followed a build on a solid 2 hander guy and I quickly got past the first few levels where your weapons are made of cardboard by playing siege and sticking with my allies. It has new maps, new weapons, new armour and persistence, so if you can put up with the fact that to begin with people will beat you simply because they have put in more hours than you you should give it a try. Here is my guy after just a couple days of playing: [thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/PRAISETHESUN.jpg[/thumb]
I heard nothing but bad things about cRPG, but having put a few hours into it I'm having a lot of fun.
From where? I really can't think of anything bad enough about crpg to be a real flaw. It's fairly well balanced and tons of fun. [editline]24th April 2012[/editline] Here are my three most played characters, from left to right: Byrlindi (Main, lvl 30), Sigmund Huntfeltz (lvl30), Gollungr (lvl 23)
When you're actually getting good at the game, you can see flaws,
Yes clearly I have put no time into it
it's mostly broken mechanics that weren't supposed to be, hilt slashes comes to mind
That's the mount and blade combat engine's fault, not crpg's.
or the fact that strenght builds are so much better over agility.
More popular =/= better. I've seen agi builds work really well. Have you seen SerButts around? I see him on the NA servers a lot. He does quite well and he's practically all agi and uses a godendag. Got so much agility he runs like a fuckin olympic sprinter.
In WFaS, I managed to finish the rebellion against the Cossacks. Now the leader wants me to wipe out the Muscovites, yet we're already at war with the Polish and Crimeans, and it's hard enough to keep them at bay. Both leaders are nowhere to be found, and I'm exhausting all of my soldiers and food fighting and staying up defending. At least the Muscovites are at relation 17 with me.
