I don't believe there is a M&B2 in the works or even planned, War of the Roses looks like the closest you'll get.
There is a M&B2 in the work.
Should I get the Mount and Blade collection? I was going to ask for some money to get Warband for my birthday anyways, and if the entire collection is going to cost the same as Warband's original price, is it worth it?
Just get Warband. The others in the series aren't worth your time. Well mount and blade vanilla is decent but it's just Warband with less features. [editline]8th June 2012[/editline] I really think throwing axes in warband are too slow. All the other throwing weapons seem to fly at a decently fast speed, but axes seem to hang in the air a little bit. It's not that big of a deal, but it's kind of noticeable and annoying.
There is a M&B2 in the work.
Source, pics, videos, info, anything on that :o
Oh man, what a glorious feeling it is when the country you're going to attack next sieges the last fortified stronghold of your current enemy, the one you were having a hard as fuck time trying to take. So if they lose, the garrison is lessened and much easier to take, or if they won, the garrison will still be fewer and bonus their army is much smaller. so awesome.
So i just bought the full pack, I have no idea what i'm doing. What game should i play first and is there anything important i should know?
Install warband and get your ass whooped online.
~$8 for Fire and Sword and Napoleonic Wars. Was waiting for a sale. Finally bought both.
For singleplayer just go to warband. Only play the first MnB if you want to try some mods.
Yeah, a few things. Play warband first, there's little to no point in playing anything but Warband and Napoleonic Wars. F&S is pretty good and it's worth playing, but like 80% of M&B players would say that warband is better all around. M&B original has some great exclusive mods like TLD (lotr mod) and 1866 so those are worth checking out for the original M&B. As for gameplay strategy, armor actually does shit in mount and blade so it's important that you buy a good/decent set of it. Get a good helmet. Melee combat isn't necessarily straight hack and slash, so give this a good glossover. Pick up companions in taverns, they level up just like your character, and you can put points into their intellegence/charisma stuff so they can be surgeons or traders for you. They don't suffer permanent deaths (they only get injured in battle) so they stay with you the entire game, though they tend to bicker with each other if you have a lot of them.
Floris, Prophesy of Pendor, Brytenwalda, AD 1257 (might want to wait for a more recent release of 1257, though)
So Facepunch, can you help me?
Brytenwalda sounds amazing. Too bad I cannot play it. I keep getting an error when it starts loading. It's not an error that I've seen anybody report before, and it's probably something stupid. Anyways, half way through loading it gives me an error in a pop-up box saying it cannot load "wb_map_objects_a" Any help?
Robin the Rover - A Love Story Let me tell you about my current character, Robin. When he first came to Calradia he was a somewhat proficient archer, and was looking to make a name for himself. For a while he rode across the kingdoms, battling bandits and helping peasants, usually without much company. He soon grew bold, taking on large groups of bandits, seldomly failing to defeat them with his bow and horse. His name was soon known everywhere from his numerous tournament victories and bandit massacres. He even began taking on lesser lords with only a few mercenaries. He was a free man, riding as he saw fit. Until he won a tournament held by the Khanate, whose company he enjoyed because of their love for horses and bows. He was invited to a feast, and there he laid eyes on Lady Arijs. At that moment, he knew he had to have her. He declared his admiration of her, and thus a relationship was founded. Robin rode to every city in Calradia to learn poems and win tournaments to impress his lady. Slowly she fell in love with him, and when he asked her to elope, she was ready! She was a wild woman, envying Robins life of combat and riding, so when she suddenly demanded a castle to live in, Robin was dissappointed. What could be done now? Robin tried to take a castle for his own. He could not swear an oath to any of the kings, it would certainly mean a dull life, having to manage a poor village and do the kings bidding. But he had no experience in the art of siege, and all his attempts failed. At last he met a woman, Lady Isolla of Suno. Her cause was worthy, and a welcome opportunity, so Robin decided to support her claim for the throne. But taking a castle was still an impossible task. Suddenly, Robin was caught off guard by the Swadian Lord Deglan, who was superior in numbers. Robin desperately tried to win him over to Lady Isollas side, and surprisingly succeeded! He was ready to take a castle of his own. After fierce battles and heavy promises to his new ally, he finally took a castle. After some time spent recruiting soldiers to defend his new property, he finally rode to his Lady Arijs to take her away. But she declined. She had several other men fighting for her love, and was not ready to choose. Robin was devastated. He was now caught in a rebellion he did not truly believe in, had murdered hundreds of men to take a castle, of which he was now responsible, and all for nothing. It would never be the same. Even if he was to duel all his competition, while still holding his castle, his love for Lady Arijs had changed. I love this game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZUfzAFL5Ek
Looks pretty, if it was just an upgraded warband i'd buy it.
I'd like to see a M&B with fluid, nicelooking animations, the ones in Warband and stuff look alright, it's just they're too slow, or too smooth, or something I can't put my finger on it but they just don't look right.

I generally stick with a lord the entire time though, because rebelling, unless you have 100 knights, is almost impossible to hold up.

And yup, rebellion is pretty fucking hard, but it fitted my character most, so I stuck to the RP. And it has lead to some great dilemmas and awesome battles so far!
Does anyone else get terrible fps in NW? I get <20 FPS in servers with lots of people. Surprising since no other game gives me problems.

Brytenwalda is awesome but it's horribly optimized, probably has gigabytes of unused or uncompressed textures. I have 16 gigs of ram and 2 gigs of vram, and I still need to use "load textures on demand" because the texture load is so retardedly huge.

Which is the best M&B game to pick up during this sale? Warband?
Which is the best M&B game to pick up during this sale? Warband?
Yeah. I might have had the most fun with F&S, but Warband is really the major game.
I was going to get Warband and Napoleon Wars but it cost more than the collection, so I just got them all. I tried Warband first, singleplayer is great, and as expected I got my ass kicked online. Dear god I can't even land a hit.
If you have Mount&Blade classic try out the Star Wars mod.
1866 is really fun when you line people up. Both game's have a lot of fun mods and I've been trying them out for years. Chinese WW2 is my favorite for 1.011. Requires a bit more management, but it's fun.

I think it's actually an error with Warband. I might see if it's up to date.
I watched Robbaz's Warbands videos and it looked pretty fun. If i wanted to get into mount and blade what should i get, the original, warbands or with fire and sword?
I watched Robbaz's Warbands videos and it looked pretty fun. If i wanted to get into mount and blade what should i get, the original, warbands or with fire and sword?
If you are only able to choose one get Warband. If you're really into mods and want to try Star Wars, The Last Days (LOTR mod), Blood (crazy mod with V, Roland Deschain, Vampires, Werewolves, amd drugs. You'll have to ask me for the DL because the person who made it stopped work and replaced it with a new version with half the content), then you're going to want to get Mount&Blade Classic. There isn't too much of a difference and you can try the Demo for M&B Classic to see if you're ok with the old gameplay. Only get Fire&Sword if you have a fetish for leading an army of Cossacks, Swedish pikemen, or Janissaries, or if you just like giving TaleWorlds money so they'll make M&B2 faster.
