The Desura one hasn't been updated in forever, they stopped uploading to desura and instead use SVN.
Ah, well, then I've got some un/installing to do.
1257 and Brytenwalda/Imperium Romanum are easily the best mods out there right now. For warband at least. Everybody should play The Last Days at some point, even though its still CTDs often. Its a shame the thing is dead, I wish they finished the Mines of Moria and made it so that big battles don't CTD.
I quite like Floris in that it adds a lot of nice features and improves others but keeps the classic Warband setting
Do you need a good computer to run the Floris Mod pack decently? At the moment I average about 70+ FPS on Low settings, will the floris pack drop it to >20? [editline]11th July 2012[/editline] Nevermind, answered for me
Gameplay: This version is a downgraded version of Expanded, allowing people with lower computer specifications to still experience Floris.
-snip- fixed
is Sengoku Jidai worth dling? i always wanted a japanese oriented mod and if its not worth downloading, does anyone have a better one?
In the Brytenwalda mod you can join a lords army, are there any other mods that do this?
1257 AD (the svn) That's freelancer mod though. a lot of mods integrate it.
In the Brytenwalda mod you can join a lords army, are there any other mods that do this?
floris [editline]15th July 2012[/editline] but yeah what he said ^
Just got the complete pack from the steam sale. I'm loving these games so far!
My gods, Huscarls are fucking amazing. Twice now I've been outnumbered three to one, only to come out with most of my troops still intact. Huscarls are beastly but surprisingly I think Rhodok Sharpshooter takes the cake for most vicious troop in the game.
Just starting out with only Swadian troops is fucking hard, and I'm up against all the Rhodoks.
Alright I got enough money to get Napoleonic Wars; do we have a Facepunch regiment?
Any good mods that push the technology a bit and stick in some flintlock firearms? I remember playing one and it was really intense reloading my pistol while seeing a bunch of bows aimed at me :v:
Alright I got enough money to get Napoleonic Wars; do we have a Facepunch regiment?
I run the bad baguettes, we're mostly a fun regiment, but we will do some line-battles. Mostly what we do is hang around and raid pubbie servers, and have a good time in teamspeak. Go ahead and join the group, it's open. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/baguettes/

I'm thinking of getting a mount and blade game with my friend, which one is the best? (I was gonna get Warband)
I'm thinking of getting a mount and blade game with my friend, which one is the best? (I was gonna get Warband)
Easily Warband, and with Napoleonic Wars Expansion if you're into that stuff.
Easily Warband, and with Napoleonic Wars Expansion if you're into that stuff.
Thanks, just got them both, should be good, how many people actually play online roughly?
I just bought it on steam sale. Been playing for a while now and got one kill in multiplayer.... My muskets keep missing the target. Is there some form of upgrade system I'm not aware off?
Thanks, just got them both, should be good, how many people actually play online roughly?
There are at least 3 servers with around 140 players, so there's a very large community still.
you have to buy the $15 DLC for premium servers and machineguns. you can still use the helicopter class as a normal member iirc
yeah yeah very witty. It's just poor combat design
Do you not know anything about combat of the Napoleonic times? Muskets are MEANT to be inaccurate because THEY ARE INACCURATE. You aren't supposed to get all kills with the gun. You fire a few times then charge with the bayonet. This isn't call of duty. Nappy wars is meant to be big battles with realistic equipment.

So what version of Warband do we have right now or is the newest? I'm curious because the Clash of Kings mod requires version 1.143 and I wonder if my copy is compatible. Also my kingdom is at peace right now which is surprisingly boring since I'm a vassal. What can I do to stir up a war?
Don't they have some sort of rifle available, because there are riflemen troops.
yes
Don't they have some sort of rifle available, because there are riflemen troops.
yeah but no bayonets on them
Don't they have some sort of rifle available, because there are riflemen troops.
Skirmishers. And you know what they are meant to do? Harass enemy forces before infantry lines engage. They are meant to stand off, not to snipe. The rifles they use are shorter than the normal musket, they just have rifling in them. Does NOT make them snipers. They also will lose melee 99% of the time and melee is still the focus of Nappy wars. Muskets at the time were meant to only do 1 or 2 volleys then charge.
