I have no idea why. But people make MP mods way more than SP mods.
I have no idea why people do it. It's like, yeah, I'd love to have my mod that I've put so much effort into making, unplayed after three weeks.

it's incredibly easy to make a MP mod over a more fleshed out SP mod.

I'd rather have 1 good sp mod for every 10 mp mods out there.
What about a mod that has both? What's wrong with that?
what's generally considered more fun to play, WF&S or Warband (singleplayer wise)? And how do I get into the bigger combat aspects of the game, running around as a shitty 15 man party delivering letters isn't fun. Also any mods that make the game better (wf&s or Warband, idc)
Is 1257 AD for warband any good? I heard good things about Floris too. What's the best way to get to be a vassal in warband?

also is A Clash Of Kings any good? I see it's in beta but it's the most popular warband mod right now
It seems like you're playing for the first time, so you'd be better off playing vanilla, and then maybe add diplomacy since it's vanilla save compatible.
Also I'll just assume you're lurking as guest :v:
If you want big battles right away, you'd be best off starting with a noble character, and joining up with a kingdom as early as possible. You'll get a fief, and some starter rents along with that. That you can use to get yourself a fair army, and then you could help other vassals in their fights.
Also Ctrl+Space speeds up time, it's handy.
wait what, if you're impoverished nobles kings will just take you and give you a fief?
well shit, i've been playing the game wrong
[editline]30th January 2013[/editline]
how i've been doing it is: start off with nothing, hire a few peasants, upgrade trainer/looting skills, go around, loot villages for cattle, sell to towns for quick money, rinse and repeat until I have decent gear
Once I have good gear, I build a bigger army, usually starting with peasants and working my way up. No cavalry. I've played several strategy games and M&B and I can never use cavalry effectively unless they have mostly archers. I usually have 3 land units for every 2 archers. I get up a veteran army of about 60 men, then sign up with a kingdom and get a fief. If I do any of this before I get an army, I'm liable to be pushed into some bullshit war, and get my men killed, my gear stolen, or my fief looted
So far I'm loving the Clash of Kings mod for Warband. HUGE map, and pretty accurate to ASOIAF, though a few key characters are missing and there's quite a few little bugs. Although I made a big mistake in joining Stannis Baratheon. Just like in the books, he sucks. In just a few in-game months, he lost nearly half of his land to Renly and the Tyrells. In fact, I just got ambushed near Dragonstone by Mace Tyrell himself, right as Renly took King's Landing.
What I like in mount and blade is that the NPC's are in a very similar position as the Player. Or rather the other way around.
I'd like to see this in a manner of 100% in bannerlord. Instead of being some godlike entity that is better than everything, can do more or less than everything, just be a character, like every single other is.
Obviously that means everyone should be able to do basically anything, any vassal become a king, start his own faction, retire, all that jazz. That would be awesome.
Also, the game should have more trivia. One of M&B charms is that it's basically a purely mechanical game, but a bit more back story would be quite nice.
I don't expect any of those things for bannerlord, to be honest I don't expect anything. I'm can't wait to see what it will be, I like how the devs aren't hyping it up.
I'd like to know ANYTHING new about Bannerlord right now. Just a tiny bit of information would be nice.
I think what would be nice would be the option to start with a family. A wife (non-noble to keep some balance) to serve as chancellor and a son who can act as a companion and potential vassel, and perhaps even your heir should you be incapacitated.

But then you'd have to play the game in an entirely different time-span. At the moment, playing through a year takes alot of hours, so how would you be able to play through the time it takes to get a son and him becoming of age?

He said to start with a family.

Oh right, yeah that'd be cool!
Some enhanced wait options would be nice. Owning a kingdom, peacefully chilling at your castle for months at a time, ocassionally coming out to address issues or build up your kingdom.
A more realistic time frame would be nice for sure, they could start with longer healing times and more penalties for character/companion death.

This could be solved by keeping everything just how it is but making time advance two or three times faster.
Would also make Calradia seem bigger and increase immersion but keep gameplay just the same.

I wonder if it would work to have your character dying of old age eventually and then playing as your heir in mount & blade.

You'd have to start at an old age then, since even just a year takes a lot of time
So I installed A Clash of Kings and I cant get past the loading screen. It gets about halfway through, then starts moving really slowly. Then about 5 minutes later it gets near the end and crashes. Any ideas?
Installed Floris mod pack a while ago, wondering why I didn't before.
Going mercenary and signing up for a lord's army is awesome, just lets me do what I do best, which is bust heads. Idgaf about casualties, that's my boss' problem
can you choose your starting area in ACOK?
can you choose your starting area in ACOK?
I believe so. I think you can also choose to start serving a faction, not sure though.
in floris why do i always start with a bow and a shitty polearm
it really shits on me when i try and play a 2 hand character

Tbh you can be a merc in native too.
can't enlist like in floris though
can't enlist like in floris though
You can, that's a mod on its own though. It's called freelancer iirc, it's just implemented into floris, just like diplomacy.
I wish the army joining element of 1200AD was a little more refined. I enjoy being able to serve as a footsoldier in another, larger, more active army, but the lack of sped-up overworld travel made it tedious as fuck. I'd just leave the PC for 10 mins and hope I was in a battle we could win when I got back. :v:
Hit "notes" while your army is moving and it'll cause the game to pause, then you can ctrl + t all you want.
I wish you could control your troops like an RTS, make the screen go to an aerial view if required and select troops and move them to positions and then revert back to 3rd/1st person and fight.
