The map/command menu does a pretty decent job of letting you control your troops, albeit not individually.

There's nothing you can do. You just gotta find another weapon as fast as you can.
Does anyone know how to replace the soundtrack of this game? Specifically of mods?
Medieval II: Total War has a soundtrack that would be perfect for big battles, where I find that Floris lacks a bit on the music department. It would be perfect if I knew how to replace some songs.

Except do it in the mod's module folder, obviously.
Can you just straight up join an army in ACOK 7.0?
Anyone know where I can get a guide to making a full-on mod for Mount and Blade? I can do a variety of things in the modding atmosphere but I suppose I'll still have to learn a lot for specfically M&B

Am I the only one who takes steam screenshots of almost everything that happens in battle?
Am I the only one who takes steam screenshots of almost everything that happens in battle?
I do too. At my last count I had about 1600.
I lost all of them when I had to purge most of my Steam folder except for Steam apps and the .exe to fix the C.multiblob field error, not knowing that the screenshots were in the folder. I could of swore they were in my documents/documents and settings/whatever but instead they were inside userdata in the steam folder.
I also lost every Warband screenshot I had ever taken up until Steam Screenshots was devised (even including about 50 of the first MM Waterloo 1.0 event ever, and even more of the version before when you could run while reloading) when I threw out a faulty hard drive I had no other useful shit on at all.
So fortune doesn't favour my screenshots.
I wish you could control your troops like an RTS, make the screen go to an aerial view if required and select troops and move them to positions and then revert back to 3rd/1st person and fight.
Or just point to where you want them to go rather than having to go all the way over to the position and say "stand right here"
Or just point to where you want them to go rather than having to go all the way over to the position and say "stand right here"
pre battle set up too thats not just text on screen too.
Hopefully M&B 2 addresses some of this crap, hard to say though since we know so little about it.
Since I'm in the planning phase of the mod, I decided to draw up a little map, it's WIP as I still have to add features like mountains, trees, rivers, cities, etc but there's not much left to change:

what do you guys think in terms of it as a map?
looks kinda like one of those mats in kids' rooms.
i can imagine plastic racecars and toy soldiers on that.
Or just point to where you want them to go rather than having to go all the way over to the position and say "stand right here"
hold down f1 until a flag appears where you point and then let go to tell your troops to hold the position where you are pointing.
Anyone play persistent world mod? It's a decent multiplayer rp mod.
In case anyone's interested:

Eh I'm not reading all of that, can we just get a summery of what it does.

Basically its a complicated "open world" mod where a bunch of people are shoved onto a map, can RP and form factions, etc. You can create items, store money, get rich.
V1 was pretty damn fun, but since then its declined, both in regards to its community and the additions. V2 was a fucking disaster and is the only exception as Lazlo literally made everyone spawn in the same place, without a weapon. Bandits raped the spawn area 24/7 and people couldn't do jackshit.
V3 was mediocre. It felt like a shallow version of V1. V4 was overwhelmingly boring and was filled with assholes.
I played V4 once for about 2-3 hours, working as a bodyguard for a pub owner/baker. Everything was great. I guarded him while he farmed, sold goods and looked after his money chest while he was away. At one point however, a faction had managed to claim the nuetral town in the middle and openly fucked with anyone they pleased. A guy covered in mail and armed with a two hander came into the Pub, and tried to access the money chest without even consulting me. I told him to fuck off, and armed with a Scimitar/Axe (I honestly can't remember) I attacked him, hitting him about 4/5 times before he slew me with 1-2 hits. He was terrible at melee, basically, but his armour and my shitty weapon made it piss easy for him to win. He broke various rules, but predominantly he attacked a neutral civilian (in essence) inside the neutral-no combat town.
I posted it on the TW forums but It got ignored as I remember, though all the same It may have been the occasion I came across a shitty Admin. Later I gave it a second chance, worked for a rich guy, he gave me a large amount of money at one point to gear up as best as I could, only just as I got the money some twat threatened him, and then slaughtered me with a two hander when I hadn't yet bought my gear, losing me a fuck ton of money. Guess where it was? The neutral zone.
Its just as shit as your average RP mod. The author is also a self righteous cunt that responded to people calling V2 shit by basically telling them to L2P and fuck off, and on release he took various negative quotes about the mod and shoved them in the info thread so as to humiliate and mock them.
I gave it a go;
Joined a server and walked to the bridge to another land mass when a man with a beard in a princess dress teleported in front of me and punched me in the face and then teleported back. Then I carried on my adventure and ended up in the white kingdom, a knight stopped me on a horse and kept demanding my money but I didn't know how to give him any and apparently he would not respond to my text, so he kept kicking me and then shooting arrows in my body until I died.
I respawned, picked hunter class and went back for vengeance but he wasn't anywhere to be found, this naked woman was running down the hill following me so I ran away but she quickly caught up and demanded money from me and then decided to beat the shit out of me and again - killed me.
My last attempt was getting killed by the knight again for more money and then getting on a boat to a different kingdom and killing all their pigs and deer.
It was also a Chinese server.

Is there plate armor and stuff in 1257 ad? I know armor like that existed back then so I don't see why it wouldn't but it could just be I'm not a high enough level/in the right area of the world.
Plate armor wasn't really all that around, except in things like little inserts and helmets.
Actual full armor suits weren't really around till over a hundred years.
they were around but they were literal plates

I think I got my terminology wrong, but I am almost entirely sure there is a type of armor that is full metal that was used at the time. I don't really know, I mean, I'm not like knowledgeable on the subject, but it's just I was kinda sure.

Lamellar
Lamellar
Lamellar is leather and metal, isn't it?
and this is what I'm talking about I think, this might be plate:

also I wasn't questioning the validity of it in 1257 ad, I was asking if it was in the mod :<

Lamellar can be entirely metal as opposed to scale which has to have a cloth/leather backing
I have no idea what else you could be talking about
So I'm trying to import a item from another mod, I moved the textures and added the text lines into the item.txt but it the model appears invisible. What am I missing exactly and and what folder are the files in?
Here's the updated map, any better?

Looks awesome, but that little sand island in the middle looks a little silly

Then again M&B Warband focuses around a piece of country sized land with dramatic and extremely contrasting tundra, desert snow and summer climates right next to each other.
