I'm pretty sure it's not called a war when you don't belong to a faction and don't own one
i'm not having much fun with F&S :I it actually feels like a downgrade from Warband - there's a lot of little things that are worse or that've been removed. Oh well, back to the Nords! [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] villages are definitely the best source of cash for me - you can make thousands by razing then selling all the goods. I have enough to equip myself and all my companions with great armour and weapons.
Downloading!
Ah, turns out you can hire men from Mercenary camps, you can also change what their default weapons are!
Seems pretty good so far. I like the bar fights, they're a good way to earn some money early in the game. I'm still wondering how much the story will dictate the game, it seems just like normal
I love this game, I lined up 50 musket guys and the enemy's just dropped in a hail of gunfire.
Anyone else find it hard to tell the difference between cities and forts on the world map in F&S or am I just missing something?
Is it good? Does anybody recommend?
Anyone else find it hard to tell the difference between cities and forts on the world map in F&S or am I just missing something?
Yeah, I see a big fort and think city - I think it's just the mindset from the older game, probably will get used to it soon enough [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline]
Is it good? mp is full of ballsies, also it's unbalanced as hell - 150 gold for a weapon that takes out every person (muskets, pistol). It's very ballsy, but SP is okay. Wait for a sale or something.
Anyone else find it hard to tell the difference between cities and forts on the world map in F&S or am I just missing something?
Yes! Whats more is I rode past a dozen of them to get to cities to sell my goods; didn't realize I could sell stuff to them. I'm not really caring for Fire and Sword. Most of the armour I have found recently just looks goofy, and missing a shot 10 feet away with a rifle with a 30 second reload time is just disheartening. I already switched to a bow to see how that goes. Speaking of weapons, I notice a lot of them are pretty boring. But maybe I'll find cooler ones yet.
Go to the mercenary camps to get soldiers, if anyone is wondering.
I love how everyone is using muskets right now in mp. Makes it easy to run them down with my sword. [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] Also it seems more optimized
Pimp hat - check Seems harder simply due to random rifle fire hitting you in the face at 7 nautical miles but nevermind. Also, hire mercs from taverns usually You'd avoid them like the plague in warband/ original but now they are cheap and cheerful.
Also I forgot, how do you change army sizes again?
[editline]3rd May 2011[/editline] I'm liking it so far, seems a bit easier to make some cash - i always had trouble with that on Warband
Hell no, in Warband it was a lot easier to make cash
Hell no, in Warband it was a lot easier to make cash
? All i need to do on F&S is beat the shit out of drunks in a pub. 50 for a easy quick fist fight. :V And you instantly reheal after.
How popular is M&B: Warband multiplayer?
How popular is M&B: Warband multiplayer?
Quite popular, there are a lot of servers up and they're pretty heavily populated. Anyway, Fire and Sword is okay. It seems like something that could just as easily be done by a mod team though. A lot of the core gameplay of Mount and Blade remains, albeit a bit changed. I like how the game puts you into less of a position of power early on in the game. You're scrabbling for money and items are quite expensive. Guns are pretty unbalanced though, 2 hit horse kills and killing men in one hit. I was kind of surprised that they reused that awful reloading animation that has been in the game since release but never implemented, I thought that at least they could have made a new one, but this is only a minor complaint. So far, it was worth the $13 I paid for it. It wasn't very expensive so I can forgive the little quirks it has.
How popular is M&B: Warband multiplayer?
Quite popular. As for my thoughts on F&S, Im really dissapointed with the singleplayer. Just plain ugly. However, I loved Captain team deathmatch.
I see, I might pick up Warband just for MP, it sounds fun. If I'm not too lazy to go to the bank :unsmith:
ah you started playing m&m, I love that mod [editline]2nd May 2011[/editline] which game are you playing?
Aw shit, Just noticed :v:
Hell no, in Warband it was a lot easier to make cash
I always struggled
I always struggled
Tournaments were very easy, even if you put AI on the most difficult setting
I for one cannot wait to see what mods F&S can pump out.
So uhh, is it not possible to upgrade people?
Tournaments were very easy, even if you put AI on the most difficult setting
I always win them and get quite a lot of money from betting but upkeep of an army and general needing to buy armour/weapons is fucking expensive
i cant find any god damn salt
So these bandit fuckers who thought they were hot shit tried to steal this fine ass purebred I was delivering to the Czar of Russia. They outnumbered me about 20-7 and I lined up my men, 4 of whom had muskets, next to my baggage. As the enemy bandit horde came charging in with their guns I was mowing em down by shooting my carbine at em and then pulling out more freshly loaded carbines out of my baggage and kept shooting. We eventually won but sadly the quest didnt let us loot those bandits. Im now exploiting the Vodka industry.
I am really enjoying F&S. At first I was underwhelmed but then it just got more awesome :D
