I'm gonna start over and just be a merchant and take the game nice and slow until I figure out how the game is supposed to play out F&S btw
Hmm, Does anyone know where I can keep my equipment in Warband?
I take it you have to be a King or something for that :smith:
No, you just have to own a castle.
Some of these quests are silly, I'm on my own still - had a quest that pays 30 thelars to take out some bandits, with a price like that, you'd think it'd be easy right - Noooo. 26 guys, half of them have muskets. Blahp
Found an annoying bug. If you lose multiple fights against the drunken patron you find in the bar (the one where you insult him and must fend off his three friends), then you get a negative modifier to your agility due to being "injured", for five days. However, if you lose a fight again, you get a permanent loss to your agility. And an exploit for a slow, but steady way to get free gold: Challenge the patron to a fight ("Would you like to test your strength", etc), and bet 50 whatever-the-fuck-the-currency-is-called. This will bring you to a fist fight -- which is easy in itself. But to win instantly, just hold down block (no need to choose the direction, blocks every time against the patron's fists), and press 'E' to kick him when he gets close. Bam. You can hurt him, he can't hurt you, and you get 50 wtf-monies every time.
I've only played Fire & Sword for about 30min, but so far i don't like it that much. Warband seemed alot better. A few of the things makes me wonder if they even tested the game - such as the Pistol using the same hold animation as the musket, several hat clipping issues, and some armour which blocks your view. Guns are also completely useless unless the enemy is standing right next to you or you know exactly where to shoot. Some of the names are stupid such as "hat" or "outfit". And the massive lance or whatever it is doesn't actually seem to have as much weapon range as it looks like it should. It also seems a bit slower gameplay, but that might just be me. Overall, Warband was alot more polished and i prefer it.
What the fuck, I got into an enemy town to recruit this French guy, and he tells me he doesn't want to join me because I have less than 5 men, while I actually have 106 guys
Just talk to him again. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] I personally enjoy WFS. I enjoy the historical setting and the new additions are great for my history nerd within. Taleworlds themselves even said that they don't want WFS to replace Warband. They want them to co-exist. Besides, Taleworlds didn't make all of it so the real sequel is still in the works. People should stop bickering and enjoy the game for what it is. Besides, it was significantly cheaper as well. It's like people are missing the fact that there is a branching story this time around. Guess people are too lazy to actually join up with a faction and try it before basing their opinions.
Does anyone know how to get elite troops? I am stuck with recruits all the time.
Is F&S worth it or should I just get Warband.
I haven't really formed an opinion of WF&S yet, but Warband is amazing and definitely worth the buy over WF&S
Sweden is best.

The whole troops not upgrading thing is a bug apparently. Hoping for a hotfix pretty soon
ugh, I was a mercenary for the Swedish (that were apparently at war with 3 factions, I didn't know) and now I can't leave them, there's no dialogue option at the king to leave. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
The whole troops not upgrading thing is a bug apparently. Love how you can turn your head 360 degrees while on first person view [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Game is not polished at all
pictures please.
I can confirm it. Hold ` and look around.
I can confirm it. Hold ` and look around.
Don`t have the game.
At least the recruits aren't useless chumps like in previous games. A group of five took out 8 bandits unaided without even a single one dying or being knocked out. I'd imagine they drop like flies against actual armies though.
Are there any guides to the difference between the factions yet?
Are there any guides to the difference between the factions yet?
See troop tree on taleworlds.com
Sweden is best.
Tsars 4 lyfe.
I like whatever faction lets me use the Miniquet(?) Musket.

Especially when free warband mods have done a better job and are more polished. Good rule of thumb Eastern European literature =/= Good storyline (Except Metro 2033, but that wasn't all over the place)
I'm not really bothered about much of the removed stuff apart from the more limited, constrictive character creation. Heck, in multiplayer it becomes obvious that they haven't even modelled the new armour and uniforms for female bodies.
Which is realistic. Armor is typically made for men in mind, especially during the medieval age. They don't mold to your body type. A woman would have to get a custom set or wear chain-mail if she couldn't stand the way regular armor is.
I am pretty sure an average female would fit in male armour. Especially early armor, which was combined with mail for the joins and such.
Squad team deathmatch is awesome. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] I hope it doesn't die because it made me nostalgia over the squad based multiplayer in games like Battle Tanx and Freedom Fighters.

Granted dresses have always given men boobs, but it was never this bad. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
Or were a bit pissed we got duped into buying mod. The key elements anyway. Anything else I can think of would be an absolutely terrible example of an exception because it wouldn't be one.
I like warband the most for sure, it kept the feel I loved from the original but added enough to warrant the paying. Fire and Sword is... ok, doesn't feel like M&B to me though.
