I own a poor village now, I started building a mill there to make more money or something.
What should I do with my village?
If you`re playing Native than it really won`t matter. Buildind stuff will takes weeks and weeks and ultimately won`t improve income much. With villages the only thing you can really do for them is make sure they don`t get raided. The best way of making money is winning tournaments, if you can win easily just bet the max on yourself and get a pile of denars for a few minutes work. Also owning villages, cities make way more, if you`ve got high trade and inventory skills you could make alot by buying and selling comodities at the different cities.
If you want to make money by fighting, raid villages and caravans. Killing bandits is usually a waste of time unless you go after the high end ones like sea raiders, with a high looting skill, you can get some very valuable weapons or armour from them. Attacking lord`s parties can be risky if your own band isn`t up to it but once you`ve got a real hardened group you can take on pretty much any group no matter how much they outnumber you, taking any lord prisoner should eventually win you about 5k denars(if you have a lord prisoner, talking to lords of his enemy faction might make them offer to buy him from you).
And if you plan on getting into the metagame of investing in businesses in the cities, the dye workshop places always make more than the other types of business. They cost more than any other to start but it will make more in the end.

Thank you for the advice my friend, I attacked a count who had few men and was running away from something. I shot his horse and then captured him and sold him for a handsome profit of 4000 denars. I have however found that attacking the 30ish strong groups of bandits is a bit profitable. However I am shit at jousting.
Are there any mods which makes villages and that more important/better buildings/more options/etc you would recommend?
What is a good multiplayer server and what mods do I need for it? And we need to find a good rpg thing one and get an FP group.
The 22nd Mount and Musket server at peak times has hundreds of people.
Bored of vanilla so I think I'm going to try some mods for the first time. Just started downloading 1866 because after watcing some gameplay videos it looks pretty awesome.

For Warband, the only mods I've played for any length of time are the new version of Prophesy of Pendor, which if you're up to it, could probably be the best choice. Its meant for experienced players, the NPCs of armies are way stronger than in Native and armies will easily get outclassed by all the various kinds of elite troops like Knights and adventurers. There are also some secondary factions with their own elite troops. For example, you'll sometimes see Heretic armies led by Demonic Maguses, these guys have more than 100hp, armour so high you'll probably need a 2 hander to even make a scratch on them, near invincable horses, ect. Like I said, great mod if you're up to the challenge.
There is also the Floris compilation, this is a compilation of a few dozen mini mods. I didn't think much of the idea before I installed it but once I did I was blown away, its like playing a total conversion. Just imagine Native except better in every possible way. New troops(but the same factions), new weapons, armours, new animations(very nice, especially love the new archery animations), improved graphics.
I don't know what Floris does for fief management but in PoP, I remember that it adds like a dozen new upgrades you can build that actually offer unique and interesting effects, most of them just increase propsperity or base income but some do cool things like make militia patrols spawn at the town.
Apparently they changed crpg so it requires less grinding and shit.
I don't know, i just got it a couple days ago and found it pretty easy as you get experience and gold over time and staying alive rather than for killing.
I'd also like to use this comment to express my discontent about other "coward" players.
I always end up leading a charge and getting killed by a mob because everyone behind me already left. On mount and musket it's even worse. They stop the charge to shoot or hide behind a tree while the enemy is fortified.

Blood and steel.
Revamps the economy completely, so that you can earn the real money by:
Selling prisoners (selling 60 bandits gives you 10,000 denars, which can be used to buy 4 heavy calvary, 30 spear recruits, 20 swordsmen, 40 archers/crossbow or 12 expert mercanaries, which are fantastic in quality. the best ones include expert pikemen with high damage slings, axemen clad in plate armour, hand cannoneers, expert musketeers, dragoons, and rocketeers.)
Looting villages gives 12,000 denars
Robbing caravans can give up to 15-20,000 denars
Killing bandit parties gives you on average, 10,000 denars
Trading isn`t so pointless anymore
Oh, and all industry in towns gives 15,000 denars.
When playing the right way, its possible to take your first city in 25 (extended) days.
It also adds dozens of new armours-Viking, Greek, Proper plate, valkrie, chinese, musketeer hats, helms, assassin armours, etc.
Believe me when i say it is worth the transition immediately.

Blood and steel is awesome like you say. If you hate how slow native is then you might enjoy blood and steel. It allows you to build an army within the first hour of playing.
Not that it means it's easier. Quite the opposite. High end units take forever to get (besides hiring them, but that's expensive). And the higher end your army becomes the more outrageous the upkeep becomes.
My tip if you're going to play this is first play a couple ours on easy with cheats to get a hang of it all. Then play mommy. It's not super duper hard, but you will find prices changed and sieges become more difficult. And death knights. Run.
If I had the Floris modpack with Blood and Steel economy and party sizes, I'd be a very VERY happy lord.

Whelp I'm officially addicted to this game again
...and it's only the first mod I've tried :smith:
I hate it when a quest runs out simply because you can't find the quest giver to turn it in, because he keeps running around random parts of the maps.
Also I never got there in time for a feast yet.
Every enemy in the battle is killed. The horse has been shot in the head with a crossbow bolt and killed. The count fell off his horse and was shot multiple times by crossbowmen and was covered in blood and lying on the ground in the middle of my army.
Count Fuckface escapes!

Even if you capture them they sometimes leg it.
I carried around one of those ungrateful jerks for a few days and then he took off.
What is a good populated crpg server and where can I download the mod?
c-rpg.net. If you're in USA, all the USA CRPG servers are populated.
Alright, new page. Lets start this off with something that happened to me recently.

What are some good mods for Warband?
Specifically, overhaul and graphics mods.
The hitboxes can be really wierd in Warband, such as when you get an axe/jav/arrow right in the face/head but you don't die.

:sigh:
Blood and steel. Check the previous page for details.
I might host that Invasion mod again.

I've heard that Floris (I think that's it) mod compilation is good, as well as Blood & Steel that gamerman brought up.
I got blood and steel. I do the exact same thing as before. Only I am richer, use a gun and wear heavy armour.
I was asked by a count to find the bandit again. I found him.
Then I shot him with a gun at point black range and killed him. Also I can take groups of 50-ish bandits on my own by simply gunning them all down from my horse. It's much easier because I kill them in one shot, have excellent accuracy and they still throw shit like stones and shoot arrows whilst I wear plate armour. :smug:

That's what helmets are for. Don't try to survive a jav without one.

On full difficulty even with the best helmet there's no way you can survive a jav or axe to the face
