with fire and sword is swag as fuck but i don't know if it's worth the money
like i'm having plenty of fun being below level 7 right now
Really I kind of wish I didn't spend anything on FaS, it's fun as hell but it didn't add much that I wanted to have that warband mods didn't.
yeah that's what i noticed about it
the mods for warband themselves are actually much better than fire and sword but it has its own charm
In warband, I've set some of my soldiers to be cavalry and they have riding skill, but whenever I go into battle I never see them on horses. I even have a spare horse in my inventory. How do I get them to ride on horses?

Companion characters? They have inventories of their own, you have to give them a horse.

No, people I've recruited from villages and whatnot
I have to defend against king Yarlogek's 270 man army with my 83 man army
:saddowns:

is it bad that i never sell my POWs?
is it bad that i never sell my POWs?
yes because they are one of the best sources of income
What are stronger, recruits from villages or mercs?
if you have a decent trainer skill and/or a high relationship with a village then recruiting is best because you're get elite troops in no time.
No, people I've recruited from villages and whatnot
you can't just set anyone to be cavalry, they actually have to be a cavalry troop (i.e. mamlauks).
The Eagle and The Radiant Cross is the best Warband mod hands down.
My army consists of a small assortment of infantry and 30+ low-level riflemen. Each one costs only 7 denars a day and I can destroy anything with my giant firing line.

oh that's right, the kingdom I have a fief in just declared war on FUCKING EVERYBODY. I really need to cut my losses but I need the income from my fief.
What do?
Playing Warband, just been tasked with killing some mountain bandits that attacked villagers. Okay should be easy, I'll ask caravans where they are, go there, kill the shit out of them
15+ parties of mountain bandits later and the quest isn't done
How do I find the right ones?
The party name of the bandits you're looking for should be magenta. Or cyan, I don't recall. I find those quests kinda hard, I generally just wander aimlessly until I find them.
Still can't join the Cossack Hetmanate, I have 40+ relations with both the nation and the leader. I have been talking to him every now and then for over 30 days and I never have the option to join or do any missions other than stuff like letter delivery, talked to pretty much every single leader in the faction never had the option to join as a mercenary general.
Very frustrating, I just run around fighting random enemies of the Cossack Hermanate.

Their names will be highlighted in blue. That quest is kind of shit anyway, either someone else kills them before you or you can just never find the buggers.

I didn't even really do anything and the Polish king invited me to join, this shit is weird.
I am officially addicted to this game. I know when I have been playing to much that whenever I close my eyes, I see something from the game. Like Saturday night I wanked, jizzed on the floor, and I was tired so give me that, but I closed my eyes and the ground was the forest and I was like "dammit, I gotta go to the castle to get them to clean it up" like a half dream thing.
Wow, the Tsar story line is really fun! One moment you're chasing a priest around Poland, the next you're breaking out of Moscow without any armor :v:

If you're part of the Imperial State, in my game they seem to be at war with everyone all the time too. But one of the generals keep calling feasts so we just keep getting our shit slapped. I took two castles away from the enemy, but couldn't hold them because General von Dickface called for a feast halfway across the map. Oh, and
Kaiser Frederick Wilhelm has appointed Castle X to [sp]Kaiser Frederick Wilhelm[/sp]
I killed so many Swedes that I lost count.
I am happy.

it's more likely he'll ask you to join but you need renown, leader relations and nation relations to add up to 160
[editline]9th May 2011[/editline]
i think feasts were removed to stop generals being dicks and actually get shit done
Didn't feasts just serve as a gathering for female npc's? And because there's no marriage there's no need for feasts?
i think the idea is now that it's the 17th century you don't marry into power

or something
Small question, On Fire and Sword. How do I get more recruits for my army? Apparently I can only recruit mercenaries on the taverns.

Mercenary Camps placed over the map.

You can recruit peasant militias which are much cheaper than mercs from villages in your faction once you join a faction
so i noticed some fuzz going on that the Fire&Sword uses modified original M&B engine and not exactly the same as in Warband ...
anyone heard any more details about that?
Their names will be highlighted in blue. That quest is kind of shit anyway, either someone else kills them before you or you can just never find the buggers.
Alright thanks
I still have 40 days left on the quest so I'll dick about for a while longer
At starting level, mercs are better than recruits right, but who's better at higher levels?
At starting level, mercs are better than recruits right, but who's better at higher levels?
mercs, recruits are just cheap units until you get a property worth putting mercs in for low wages and you get an income to sustain them
I defeated the Rohdoks with help from the saranids, who should I go after next?
[editline]9th May 2011[/editline]
I'm thinking the khergit.
[editline]9th May 2011[/editline]
And can vassals be in your party?
