Question: Which is superior--many low-level units or a few high level units? And don't say "lots of high-level units" because that's a recipe for losing all of your money.
Really depends.
High level cavalry will rape low level infantry pretty well. High level infantry do well against mobs of low level infantry if they stick together. If the high level infantry get separated, they'll get beat just because of the constant stunning mobs will do.
A nice squad of high level archers tends to massacre masses of low level infantry.
It really all depends on circumstances and types of units.
all i do is spam Nord infantry, works pretty well.
what's your guys favorite music to listen to while playing this?
Justice - Stress
Goes great when you just hit PANIC MODO.

Stormwarrior fits perfectly when playing as a nord.
Anyone else play in first person all the time? It's so much more fun that way, even if it's harder to see your own attacks.

I usually do that with guns and bows.
Anyone else play in first person all the time? It's so much more fun that way, even if it's harder to see your own attacks.
Only when I use guns. It feels awkward in melee mode for me.
So, what was the general consensus on Fire & Sword?

A shitty half-baked game that is worse than half the mods out for Warband right now.

piss

Oh great, so I'm not missing out on much.
I have to ask, how useful are polearms in singleplayer and what are some good ones to use? Im planning to use polearms on this character.
Bit late, but... I'm using polearms myself on a char of mine right now. Quite a bit more challenging than just bashing everybody's head in with a two-handed axe. Polearms do give an advantage against cavalry and the like, and it's always fun skewering fleeing troops or pesky archers one after another.
If you're gonna play with polearms, make sure you don't get stuck in the middle of a mob, and keep that horse alive. Don't even bother with attacking hideouts unless you use a fast bow and are good with aiming, or you have some great companions.
Otherwise you'll die horribly with no way out.

Get leadership level to max and buy 100something crossbows recruits.
Any worthwhile Warband mods other than Blood and Steel?
Any worthwhile Warband mods other than Blood and Steel?
Mount and Musket is really fun (mp only though), Prophecy of Pendor is good for experienced players or you could try Floris' Mod Pack if you want to play more native-like.

Fire & Sword is a great mod for Warband, I heard it got great reviews

You're not funny.
If there's anybody here looking for a balanced and not over-the-top troop addition to Native Warband, give this a look:

Works with existing savegames, adds only a few new faction troops, expands the mercenary troop tree a lot, and is easy to install. Wish I'd have found about it when I started the game - it's that much fun IMHO. Just be sure to try it on a testing savegame first.

I only play in first person. Put me in third person and I start failing hilariously.
What do you do with captured lords?
Ransom them for money (when requested) or keep them rotting in the dungeon so that the faction doesn't get reinforcements
SUXpanD, does it work wit TweakMB?
How much is new in Warband? It looks nice, but I've already got the original so I'm not sure about spending £20 on a shinier version of what I have.
Better graphics, much more features, new faction, combat handles better, etc
[editline]12th May 2011[/editline]
New items, multiplayer, you can start your own faction and IIRC the worldmap was changed a bit too.
Only get warband for multiplayer if you already have the original m&b.

Worked great for me - I applied a good few tweaks yesterday with the troop mod in place (and a few graphics mods) and no problems so far.
Mind linking the graphics mods as well? I'm probably enabling Polished Landscapes again if it doesn't have immaterial trees.
I'm using these two:

...along with...

...which replaces the in-game music with ambient sound tracks.
Still need to look into Polished Landscapes properly, but I doubt it'll be entirely compatible with these mods.
Fair enough. I think I'll wait it's on one of Steam's super sales.
Oh great, so I'm not missing out on much.
I like it. But then again, I paid for the game with two tf2 hats. :v:

If you liked the first one get the second. I bought it and played 60 hours in the first 2 weeks I owned it. I have a problem...
Also, any good musket mods out there? I bought Fire and Sword but it just made me realise how much I like Warband, muskets are really fun though so I want them in Warband now.
