I never capture lords because in the long run when i make my faction they will all defect to me
So I was doing a mercenary contract for the Vaegirs in Warband, and I somehow managed to capture the king of the Nords. What should I do with him?.
Keep him, when they offer you money, refuse, untill you get offered like 100 000 denars.

Eventually he can escape your captivity
I want to leave Swadia and create my own faction and be fiends with them but I don't want to lose all my fiefs and they probably will attack me anyway.
All the troops in my party have a morale of excellent except for the swadian knights. Is it because I've killed so many swadians?
edit: also, I recently married a Nord chick, but my right to rule hasn't gone up. Do I have to wait awhile?

Pretty much.
The funny thing is, I've been with the Kingdom of Swadia so long it feels really odd when I have to fight them in open combat (Swadian lords that defect to other nations still spawn their original nation's units apparently.)

I think its best to always keep the kings but ransom the other vassals because kings can carry more troops right? If the king isn't there then the army is smaller.
Eventually he can escape your captivity
Then you get a Prisoner Tower to reduce his change of escaping.
Working for the Rhodoks in warband, fighting Vaegirs. It's a long way from home, that's why it's so boring.
Vaegir gear isn't great, either.
What are the Vaegirs good for anyways? Just arrow fodder? I thought they sucked before I started following this topic, but a lot of people seem to think the exact same thing...
Considering I'd like to play under all the factions at least once, I'd love to know just why they are in the game in the first place.

rhodoks suck imo. Currently I am using nord infantry, swadian knights as cavalry, and vaegir sharp shooters.

I actually did that when I was forming my own kingdom; was going to start my kingdom by taking out the last owned settlement (town) that the Sarranids owned (my campaign when I was a lord of Swadia did that) and thus they sent a 1,500 man army after me and my 120 Swadian Knights, I could swear they had at least 100 Mamlukes in that.
It was a massacre, I only lost around 2 knights (wounded since my surgery was 7) and they experienced full casualties (I managed to make most Sarranid lords bros by setting them free, because they're huge on honor I guess.)
Doesn't mean anything depending on your battle settings.

Also it sucks that you kind of have to be in a faction for a while to get renown and such, but when you start your own faction, your original faction is usually massive.

vaegir marksman* and the rhodok sharpshooters are the shit. Fucking siege crossbows, steel bolts, and board shields. They're great for garrisons
Rhodok sharpshooters are great exactly because of the shield. You can order them to hold fire and they'll equip them, the enemy will waste their arrows, and then you tell them to open fire.

What a bunch of dicks.
Leave no survivors. I really wish there was an option to execute prisoners.
Leave no survivors. I really wish there was an option to execute prisoners.
I think the idea is that if you have no space for prisoners or you don't take them then you execute them
Still should be options for executions of some kind. It takes place Medieval times after all (doesn't it?)
How do you make a faction disappear? I took over everything that the Rhodoks, and they were still there. Then a little while later I got a message saying they were gone.
I just started playing this game and I'm loving it... I've never lost a single battle, and my casualties number in at about 4 dead. Right now I'm riding around with 6 caravan guards (who I'm training up so I can upgrade them), 2 Swadian man-at-arms, 2 Swadian infantry, 2 kerghit skirmishers, 4 kerghit horsemen, 4 nord veteren archers and 4 nord warriors. I've become a vassal to king ragnar, I torment the towns of the khanites for money, I make about 4000 every tournament, I beat 20 men in the arena on average. But I have no fief thanks to bandits ransacking my village the exact moment I got it, so I need a castle to call my land.
my question is this. How do I capture land? do I have to capture a castle?
Question: if I dethrone a king and put a claimant on it, any wars involved with this faction will end?
I think the idea is that if you have no space for prisoners or you don't take them then you execute them
Perhaps, but what I wish is the option to do so during a siege. If you have prisoners during a siege, you have the option of executing them in view of the troops on the walls. You lose a lot of honor, gain a lot of controversy, and your reputation with the town/lord/faction go down considerably and don't go back up with the end of a war against them. On the flip side, the troops in the town lose a lot of morale and some of them desert, and the chances of you getting them to surrender without a fight is raised way up.
just took Suno with 105 people :smug:

Bitch I am going to beat you like a red-headed stepchild.
I hate how I go to a village that they are looting or besieging or whatever, they run, I feel generous so I don't go after them, then they come back as soon as I leave.
The only working tactic I've used if an enemy is sieging, is to just go into the castle and wait for them to finish building, and wipe them out when they attack.
Takes time though

I hate it when you just can't catch up to them and they have a fucking one track mind. You can chase them halfway around the world, they'll still try to go back to what they were looting.
Case in point camp at a village they are trying to loot, you can watch them leave and come back constantly to check if you're there
I have a question about companions. Do I need a companion to be participating in a battle to have his surgery work? If he gets KOd, does his bonus still work?
I have a question about companions. Do I need a companion to be participating in a battle to have his surgery work? If he gets KOd, does his bonus still work?
Not sure if it changes within a battle, but if the companion is below 30% health IE "wounded" you don't get their bonuses.
I'll ask again. How do you capture territory?
I'll ask again. How do you capture territory?
Go to an enemy castle or town and it'll give you the option to besiege it.
