I actually quite like the bits of monologue you get from companions. Although I have Firentis and Jeremus, and they're ganging up on me about how bad violence is.
Also I signed up with the Rhodoks and now I'm the lord of Reveran. Are the upgrades a good idea, and is having engineer significant to reduce cost/time?
What should I do for cavalry, by the way? The Rhodoks don't have any in their soldier tree so for the moment my only horses are me and my companions.
Engineer is amazingly useful for quicker sieges and building upgrades, I'd recommend either training it yourself or training it on Jeremus (since he's the intellectual tank.)
To put it in perspective, I have Engineer 7 and can build ladders in 4 hours and a siege tower in 36-48.

I have a feeling that was Rolf, son of Rolf of the family Rolf :v:
So I am going to start my own faction and I need a way to start a war, since I cannot just besiege a castle how would I do to start a war, preferably without raiding any villages/caravans?
Has anybody tried 1755: old frontier? Is it any good?

Go up to a member of the faction you want to fight and "deliver your demands" this will lower your relations with that lord by 40 or so points and it makes you feel like an ass. Still, that's the only way to declare war on a faction short of attacking caravans/villages (which are the most preferable because it doesn't result in lords hating you.)

It seemed like it would be good, but it kept crashing. Also, no matter where your start location is, you start with native american style weapons, which I found really stupid.

The armor is just plain stupid aswell, a regular skull cap would offer like 30 points of armor while a regular cap offered like 2 points of armor and a native american outfit offered like 20 points of armor while a coat offered like 3 points of armor.
When I first got F&S, I sat down and decided my stand regarding the polish. Would I join the honourable ranks of nations that have beaten the shit out of them, or would I support them and finally let them have a victory?
Now I'm trying to become Tsar, and whenever I am bored I go beat up the polish. And I like it.
Actually the Poles were pretty badass back then, they constantly kicked the ass of Russia and didn't start sucking until later
Having a very good game with Rhodoks. So far we got a few castles, Praven and Shizum (or whatever). I have a consistent army of veterans (18 sergeants 28 sharpshooters and a swad knight) and everything is going really well.

1755 is cool, but the stats on everything, the 10 muskets weapon, the cannon, etc makes the whole thing silly.
So I decided to get some Huscarls, but the damn nord veteran will refuse to get enough exp, seriously how do you guys even get to 30?

I used to have like half of the realm with Vaegirs. Nords only had Tihr left when King Yaroglek (the pussy), finally decided fighting was over. So we steamrolled the swadians, and left them with only praven.
Then suddenly every single nation though it was a good idea to go into war with us. And I mean, every, single, goddamn nation. Eventually both nords and swadians stopped fighting, but the Vaegir kingdom is back on square zero.

Rhodoks, sarradins and khergit is enough thank you.
Ugh, every time I visit my village and then leave the world map texture turns to sky (Warband)
I searched for a solution but all I found is old stuff related to ati drivers
I have a GTX 260, Windows 7 x64
Any ideas to make this stop happening

Constantly fighting shit and perseverance is all you can do really. I have 55+ Huscarls, and it took a shit ton of time to train them, but it's so worth it. Favorite unit in the game by far.
Can anyone say how well warband would run on integrated grapihcs?
My laptop can play source engine on medium, and I'm wondering if warband was possible on really low graphics.

Probably can, not a really taxing game, especially that low. Might have problems with larger battles, though.
Well it might run on dx7 decently but you better turn the battle size way down
yeah ok, thanks. Gonna try it now.

I've been having similar problems on my dual 5770s, though after a while of moving around or waiting the problems would go away and stay away for a good while. Other problems I was experiencing were the overworld and maps loading with HOM parts, and some odd shadow problems (which actually looked pretty kickass, only happened twice though). Running Windows 7 x64 here as well.
If the problems do not fix themselves after a while, or they prevent you from doing anything, try saving/reloading (as mentioned) or switching the renderer to DX7 with basic settings (to see if it still happens even then).
Well it doesn't do it in DX7 but it also makes me vomit on the screen so either way my view of things is obstructed.
What if someone modded it so nord huscarls could ride horses.
Then I wouldn't have to worry about getting mugged for my man-honey.

This mod, which is based on the mod I posted earlier (merc faction, http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,106840.0.html), has mounted Huscarls. The mod's not exactly balanced though, and IMHO adds way TOO many new troops.
I've been quite interested in doing some modifications for this game. Is there any toolkit you can use or do you have to edit the files yourself?

Bitch I am going to beat you like a red-headed stepchild.
I'd love to do that. He's the only fuckshit I don't like.
Okay so now in warband I took over a castle from the vaegirs with only about 5 huscarls and 50 nord veteran and 20 nord warrior. But after that I didn't get a moment of peace because I couldn't station any troops there because I was already low on troops and then when I go to nord villages to get more they besiege it. So I went back there killed their army and so on. Now all their armies are about 50 men with 50% recruits and 50% footman.
When will they stop and switch to my team and also, is it possible to give a hero control of a castle? Because I made the mistake of taking reyvadin with 20 huscarls and 30 veterans.

Talk to the hero and ask them if they would take a fief.
Playing warband vanilla. You guys can choose my starting position and who I recruit and what I do if you want.
Nords
