I'm saving up for warband now, but this is still one of the best games I've ever played.
lol Nords are now at war with everyone but the Sarranids and still killing everyone. I think I might get control of a castle soon.
lol Nords are now at war with everyone but the Sarranids and still killing everyone.
That's why. Sarranid master race represent.
The only way to make Fire and Sword fun for me is to use TweakMB and make each gun have 1000 rounds without reload, so that With a group of Muskets I can blot out the sun. Otherwise Guns are very worthless without 20,000 units, because no one can hit anything and it takes like a minute to reload.
Being a dragoon is the way to go.
Can you actually set battle size to ~1 in Warband? The minimum in Options is 30.
Use Battlesizer
The minimum is still 30, even in Battlesizer.
That's why. Sarranid master race represent.
As a Nord, the yellow creeping across the map getting larger and larger is really starting to freak me out They just took Dhirim, that used to be OURS On the plus side the Vaegirs only have Curaw and a couple castles now
The minimum is still 30, even in Battlesizer.
They must have updated it, in old versions you could reduce it to 1.
poor vaegirs only one castle left now what happens when they lose everything?
poor vaegirs only one castle left now what happens when they lose everything?
As I recall you get a message saying FACTION DESTROYED and what happened to the vassals.

I don't get how you eliminate a faction. I took all their bases, but they were only eliminated like 2 weeks later.
I don't get how you eliminate a faction. I took all their bases, but they were only eliminated like 2 weeks later.
You gotta take all of their bases and their major cities and capture all of their lords.
Even then it takes a while for all of the vassals to switch to a different faction. In my game, the Nords took the Swadians in less than a week. I think Decherios castle is the best (original M&B)
I think 1866 has something against me. Mexico is hostile to the USA again, meaning that every other faction is hostile to us once again. Not only that. Everyone and their mama's trying to take my fort! Almost as if they know if they take it over, then every enemy lord I've ever imprisoned in there will be freed, undoing all the work that I did. I find myself constantly spending money on troops to station at the fort! Not only that, sometimes those goddamn bounty hunters attack me at the worst possible moment, which is right after a battle where I'm wounded. And if they have those double barreled shotguns... :smithicide: I'll say it again. I hate any troops wielding those things, and you would too especially after having four of your men die to one shotgun blast during a siege. But goddamn it! I won't give up! I will conquer a faction, and I will try my hardest to defend that fort. I'm not letting anyone take it back after all that time I spent trying to take it. Also, I hate how the "Gather everyone together for a campaign" option rarely works for me. I have to personally go up to every lord and tell them to follow me. Just like in native M&B.

Go into city hoping for it to say "You pass through the siege lines" instead says: I won.
~350 Nords vs. ~850 Khergits and we (the Nords) won Easily the most intense and awesome single battle I've ever fought in M&B [editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] Of course I was listening to Tyr the entire time. Odin must have gifted me with the berserker rage.
Should I eliminate the Rhodoks and The Swadians? Those are the two factions I haven't eliminated yet but since the Dark Knight's are invading should I help them or not?
I think the Swadians are the most powerful at the beginning of the game. So eliminate that first.
I must say, I feel much more is happening in Fire and Sword than in Warband. Cities and fortresses are constantly changing hands, and the Muscovites are getting fucked over pretty badly.
Fire and Sword is basically the dev trying to have lots of fun but not actually focus on gameplay, (i.e. guns, more active cities, etc) I'd love if the cities were more active, when I started conquering nations (2 down, 4 more to go) I noticed that they had only captured one fortress, one fortress that wasn't theirs. It was rather disappointing not getting them into one castle in enemy territory.

Odin must have gifted me with the berserker rage.
I had Amon Amarth playing during the siege on the Vaegir's last castle [editline]3rd June 2011[/editline] Also, the Khergits (apologies if spelled wrong) just randomly got two castles and two villages in the middle of our territory despite us not being at war with them what happened there
Fire and Sword is basically the dev trying to have lots of fun but not actually focus on gameplay, (i.e. guns, more active cities, etc) I'd love if the cities were more active, when I started conquering nations (2 down, 4 more to go) I noticed that they had only captured one fortress, one fortress that wasn't theirs. So I got some lords and my leader to follow me and then I finally began my assault on those Apache indians. I have most of their leaders, so they haven't been trying to take any of my forts lately. But anyway, I finally took one of their forts. They had like, 5 people with double barreled shotguns at once. Completely slaughtered my men whenever they got close to my fort. Like a meat grinder. I thought to myself "I'll never win like this!" So I had my men attack from a distance. Killed all of the indians one by one and managed to retake the fort. And then the men who followed me went off to do their own thing, completely ignoring my orders to follow me, so I couldn't attack another one of their forts. Goddamn, they're so stupid. At least there weren't any carriages to distract them. The enemy has one fort and one major city left.
Fire and sword has a boring map in my opinion. LANDLANDLANDLANDLAND river LANDLANDLANDLANDLAND beach. It looks very plain to me. Wish they created a more interesting variation. Warband had huge mountains of rhodok, vaegir and nord seaside, vaegir snow area, sarranid dunes, etc. It felt like each area had character.
Any good mods for warband to make battles more interesting? I'm getting bored of my 250 something knights killing everything that moves.

I, for one, find pleasure in the somewhat accurate depiction of the area, and the fact that I can recognize Lithuania, Poland, The Black Sea, cities like Smolensk, Riga and Moscow. As I said before, I might be the odd one out, but F&S has been the greatest and most adventurous Mount and Blade I've ever played.
