What do you mean? Cities only capturing one fortress, what?
Only capturing one castle in my entire time in Warband.
Any good mods for warband to make battles more interesting? I'm getting bored of my 250 something knights killing everything that moves.
Try raising the difficulty. Also Blood and steel.
Fire and sword has a boring map in my opinion. LANDLANDLANDLANDLAND river LANDLANDLANDLANDLAND beach.
It looks very plain to me. Wish they created a more interesting variation.
Warband had huge mountains of rhodok, vaegir and nord seaside, vaegir snow area, sarranid dunes, etc. It felt like each area had character.
Realism just doesn't cut it for you.

This is a game, first and foremost
If I wanted utter realism I'd go watch Discovery Civilization Channel

Well if you had noticed it was europe I think it would've been easy to guess its going to look somewhat like europe

I don't think there's a massive desert in the middle of eastern europe, though
It doesn't matter. Games don't have to be realistic. I hate the argument that just because it's a game, it shouldn't be realistic, but this is one of those cases where it would be better if it wasn't realistic.
I'm reinstalling original M & B so I can give the 1866 mod a try. Is the first-person gameplay significantly worse compared to Warband? Because I only play in FP.
I don't think people understand that WIth Fire and Sword is a book, and the game is based off of it

It's in the same universe but not directly based off of it.

Finally. Goddamn.
Right before I attacked their major city, someone from a minor faction joined them. Bad decision on his part.

If you had at least read something about the game you would've known about the setting and all.

You know, the whole point of the M&B series is a realistic medieval game, and most of the players (me included) don't think it would be better off with less realism.
Should I eliminate the Rhodoks and The Swadians? Those are the two factions I haven't eliminated yet but since the Dark Knight's are invading should I help them or not?
What black knights, holy fuck
What black knights, holy fuck
native expansion
You know, the whole point of the M&B series is a realistic medieval game, and most of the players (me included) don't think it would be better off with less realism.
But the fact remains there isn't much realism to begin with, M&B is to a medieval simulation as GRID was to a racing simulation - the main ideas are all correct and true-to-life but the gameplay comes first
All of the tedium is removed so you can get at the gameplay faster (world map travel in accelerated time, stuff like that) so it makes sense that other aspects would be tweaked to make the game more fun at the expense of realism
Your point is fair, but it would be silly to change the historic setting into something alternate universy or something. I mean, you can't put a mountain somewhere where there isn't one just for the sake of making a better map.
I am 100% sure they could've done a better job at making the map, just not by making it into a fantasy world.
Do you guys like 1st or 3rd person?

Yeah that's fair too
I think Warband did a good job and making a fake map that seemed real, but was still fun to play on
Realism just doesn't cut it for you.
Mount and Blade isn't really striving for realism in any sense from all my experience.

3rd Person.
So I installed blood & steel, now it crashes whenever a lamenarr vest pops up, will re-installing fix that?
Try raising the difficulty. Also Blood and steel.
What mod are you using? Sounds fun.
Why run into the middle of the group, bad idea you'll get swarmed.

Oh yeah I thought the same thing, actually prevented me from downloading it for a while, but everyone said it was good so I thought I'd at least try it, it's pretty good, haven't had a real chance to play it yet but it's nice.
with out their horses the khergits are WEAK
Yeah and with no opposing cavalry plus a shit-ton of Huscarls it's basically an insta-win battle.
