Hell yes. Morning star + elite scimitar + heavy kite shield + lance = master race.
Huscarl shields > any other shield
Huscarl shields > any other shield
After using the huscarl shield, no other shield has been large enough to keep me alive, and it's pretty fucking tough as well. I really love crushes through block weapons though, shame that the best one is the morning star, which is a bit slow for me. Maybe I just have to pump up agility and weapon proficiency more
In my game, the Khergits have taken over atleast 5 major cities.
In mine the Vaegirs were wiped out by the Nords. (With my help. I'm a vassal of the king but I'm building my right to rule.) Other than that, everything is pretty balanced.
Freelancer is really great, try it. It feels so awesome when you are a typical soldier in the ranks of a king, instead the leader of a warband or a vassal.
I want a Sauron mod that gives you his armor and mace and when you strike groups with it they all go flying
I'm keeping a separate install of Warband patched to 1.134 because the last few updates have been so fucked. Working out pretty well so far. For the first time ever I managed to wipe out the Dark Knights in Native Expansion They should make a movie about it
So, since I've helped the Nords gain so much land, yet I plan to eventually form my own faction, I'm wondering if that was a mistake. I don't want to give up my cities, but maybe I should. I was originally planning to just request that a fief is rewarded to me, and then rebel when it isn't. Which would let me keep my current fiefs, right? Though I'd need to defend them. That might be a problem with how powerful the Nords probably are now, and how thinly spread I would be. Thoughts? How should I go about becoming king? I'm still working up my right to rule as a vassal of the Nords in the meantime.

Ive been playing Native Polished, I started out as a Rhodok Spearman in the army of count Mattheas, but it all went to hell when we were crushed by a bigger Swadian army and were narrowly saved by some passing lords. We had 14 wounded men and we spent 2 weeks inside Veluca, I was sick of the lack of action so I deserted. I then joined the Swadians, who were pretty busy smashing the Rhodoks. I was viewing the internet whilst waiting for the next battle or promotion, so by the time I stopped to look at the world map, the Nords had taken 3 Rhodok castles and 2 towns. The Swadians had taken one town and 3 castles, and the Sarranids were in the process of taking the last one. Then I said "fuck it" and deserted, looting caravans for a few days near Suno.
Its a mod http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,232.0.html
I'm guessing there's no way to throw back M&B a version or two so I can play the mod, or shall I just try and run it anyway?
Blood&Steel is what you want.
I've played B&S extensively, that's why I said "enough mods." Even Blood and Steel gets old after a while, especially since the latest update made horse charges do 25-65 damage for no reason.
Are there any good musket mods for Warband besides Mount and Musket, and French Indian War 1756 mod? (I can't use the latter because it takes up too much RAM, and I get run time errors.)
Eagle and the Radiant Cross is worth a look-see.
Eagle and the Radiant Cross is worth a look-see.
Definitely, it's got Prussia man!!!! Totally fucks with history but it's totally fun.
Definitely, it's got Prussia man!!!! Totally fucks with history but it's totally fun.
Kaiserlicher master race Swadians Knights make up for it with super thick armor, though. Also their emperor is on fire.
is it possible to reroll patches on the steam version of warband since most mods are on earlier versions of the game?
No, and most mods work anyway.
Kaiserlicher master race Swadians Knights make up for it with super thick armor, though. Also, all of their vassals have neat names, which is always a plus.

I've always played this game on the easiest settings, I just get such a kick out of being an unstoppable killing machine
I've always played this game on the easiest settings, I just get such a kick out of being an unstoppable killing machine
Its actually not fun destroying. If you play at hardest, you are just like everyone else, and its realistic and hard. If you play on easy, you are just an exalted hero, like you are in other games.
Other games can be fun too.
I really like With Fire and Sword but it is really annoying at times to die just randomly because some peasant shot you down. It makes battles less epic. Although muskets add really a nice flair and gameplay to Mount and Blade, I like them.

I like being the hero, being an NPC is boring Edit: I get much more of a kick out of single-handedly destroying half of a Nord army than I do being one shot by an arrow before the battle begins
You won't be one-shot by an arrow if you actually think about where you position yourself You can also play as a hero on the hardest settings, it's just that there's some actual challenge that time around
I disagree. Also you only get oneshotted by an arrow at a hard difficulty if you play like a Hero.
I don't get whats up with getting shot and then killed? It's the same as couched lance damage but at longer range, and you don't get hit that often on long range, it barely every happens to me. I think the winged hussars with their couched lances are a lot worse than a pack of musketeers shooting.

Different tastes, I suppose, but I don't think I should be told my style isn't fun when I've spent a good 100+ hours playing
