:siren: Fraps fucked up so I have no pictures but here's update nr 3 anyways :siren:
The days slowly passed by as I wandered the lands finding more and more men to join me. I had plans ; to conquer my first castle. The khergit people were still at war, but they were winning. I could not let such an opportunity slip by, so I traveled to a castle near the border. It was guarded by a lot of soldiers, but my scouts noticed that they were not heavily armed. It seems they were trying to use numbers to make it seem like it would be a challenge.
I set up camp early in the morning, preparing ladders and telling my men what they would do when the charge began. My infantry would charge up the ladders while the archers placed themselves on a nearby hill, where they would have perfect view of the walls of the castle. Hopefully they would not notice that when the bulk of my army charged their walls.
We attacked when the sun stood at its peak, many died in the initial assault but when the archers started firing the men on the walls started to panic. They didn't have anyone to look to, and the arrows coming from their side were too much for most of them to take. They fled from the walls and my men could get up the ladders without any problem. It was a slaughter after that, we cut them down like a farmer cuts the wheat.
The castle meant the beginning of my kingdom, I had a place I could call my own, and a banner to go with it. I declared it the Kingdom of Goon, after my last name. Now, I would surely be put on the defense.
But alas, a messenger came a week after my conquest. He asked for peace, something I would gladly take if it meant I could bolster my army even further. I placed a garrison of my finest men in the castle.
It was a special feeling, having a castle (and a small village to boot) where my banner would fly. It was a feeling I could get used to.
Why goon D:
Also, massed missile units work well on most sieges. Especially in blood and steel as you can bring extra ammo for your troops.
Blood and Steel is complicated as shit.
Are there any Vanilla addons?
Like more companions, more troops, diplomacy, more weapons...
Not like B&S, but just more items added in Warband balanced style.
Floris mod is a compilation of mods. I have not played it much yet, but it delivers better graphics and roughly 1500 new items. If you install it you can use it with native. But you can also apply it to other mods.

Damn thing crashed for me whenever I tried it, I remember that I installed it 3 times before giving up
Uhm. Isn't there two of the same? One developed by a bunch of russians and the other developed by some polish company or something (or the other way around).
The one you've played is the mod made by players i believe. I don't think the commercial one is out yet for semi public beta?
No, I played the official Polish commercial release (I'm Polish). It's already a full, released game. The English release of the same game is supposedly going to be an "improved" version of the Polish/Russian release (the one I played).
I hope you guys get a better version, because ours is terrible. Plays like a beta. Actually, like the original M&B when it was in beta, but worse.
I see.
Those hussars are just too bad ass though. But i guess you're not able to always be them considering balance and shit.
So you bought it then? Or is it free to try? I'd like to try it if i can, even if it's polish.

Bought it, sadly. Was really hard to find here, and it would probably be impossible in English-speaking countries. The way they implemented guns was great, though. A weapon that kills anyone in one shot, but is somewhat inaccurate and takes a long time to reload. Didn't get far enough to fight hussars, but I dueled some random noblemen in the tavern.

Here's something that looks like an unboxing, if you're interested. 0:30 to 1:40 is him looking through the box. Everything later is gameplay.

Here's some actual gameplay with some fighting.

Sounds like m&m with more melee then. And singleplayer ofcourse.
Trulli do you play full invasion?

It feels like a cheap mod for M&B. Mount&Musket is probably higher quality. But damn, I must admit they know how to make a trailer.

The English one sucks, this one at least has gameplay.
Is 41st Regiment any good?
Is 41st Regiment any good?
Meh, they are all immature jerks now to be honest.
Meh, they are all immature jerks now to be honest.
Ok, good to know. I was considering joining since I know the leader, but I don't think I will now. Thanks.
I don't think you will be able to find a regiment that's not all immature jerks..or "i am so mature" kids.

51'st is pretty okay. It's very strict though, so if you don't like listening to orders and going to trainings all the time then you shouldn't join (not saying to anybody that they shouldn't join, but you'll want to leave after some time if you don't like that)
:siren: Update 4 :siren:
The war went really well, I had yet seen any sultan making any offensive move on me and I felt that I had to push on. I laid siege on yet another castle, which proved to be a harder task than I had expected. This castle was fortified extremely well, but my battlehardened men proved victorious.

Around this time I had called upon an old friend, Rolf. He was my best friend and I knew he would be eager to prove his worth to me, as I had always been like a bigger brother to him. He was an orphan, a boy my father had found lurking around his camp one day. He was caught stealing food one day and if it wasn't for my dad he would not be alive today. They wanted to execute him, but my father saw something in him. He didn't know exactly what he saw, but he knew that this was no ordinary boy.

As soon as I conquered the castle I went on to build schools in the villages nearby. I had always valued knowledge over brute force, and I knew that building such buildings would not only show that I cared for them, but also benefit my future kingdom as the people would grow smarter. It didn't cost me a lot but I knew it would reward itself tenfold just in the next year.

Rolf had just been with me for a month now, and I figured he deserved a little something for abandoning his duty in the swadian army. Like me, he had deserted, a great risk as it was punishable with death. He was awarded vassalage under me and a castle he could call home. The village nearby would still be under my command, but he would have access to the people there, so that he could call upon them in times of need.

I had captured one of their lords when I had assaulted the castle of Samarra and now a delegate from the Sarranide Sultanate wished for me to release the man. They offered me 2100 denars. I figured it was the honourable thing to do so I let him go. He was an incapable commander, and I would benefit more from having him rule an army than rotting away in one of my prison cells.

Repleneshing my army, I set my sights on the city of Durquba. It would be the capital of my newly formed kingdom, and my scouts said that the garrison was rather weak, considering the value of the city. A rather small city, it was still really important. It connected the northern part of the Sarranide Sultanate with the southern part, and conquering it would severly hamper communications between the two parts.

It was a rather uneventful battle, my men charged in directly and completely annihilated the resistance. It was finally mine!

Around this time I got in contact with the merchant I had helped when I had arrived to the land of the Khergits. He sent his best wishes on my new kingdom, and told me of a man he thought would be a suitable vassal. I sent him an invitation, and surely enough he was the kind of man I knew would be a good vassal. I gave him control over the castle of Jay... I still can't pronounce it, but nonetheless he was given control of the first castle I had conquered. I had now two men under my command, and a wise old man by the name of Artimmer as my ministrel. The kingdom of Goon was shaping itself up pretty good.

But life was lonely, I yearned for a woman by my side. I had met a lovely lady when I had just arrived to the lands of the Khergit people, but she was bethroded to someone else. They had not yet married, but time was slowly ticking down to their marriage. She was the one for me, I knew it!
All I had to do know, was to prove myself worthy her hand...
Use Duke Nukem tactics and circle strafe. Skirmishing's the key in Arena brawls; move in, get some hits in, move out. And watch out for fucking archers.
I just pick up one of their bows and revenge headshot the fuckers.

51st, 79th, 27th, 88th, and several others are good to join.
So what's company-fighting like?
Not related, but if you guys want to change the history in any way you can just give suggestions on what I should do, and I'll try and comply with what you want to be done.
Gregah, what mod are you using (if any)? Ruling one's own kingdom looks fun, and I haven't seen some of those dialogues in Native Warband.

Blood and Steel I think
Blood and Steel, it's pretty great although it bugs sometimes (dialogue dissapears, or is really, really messed up)
Does B&S work with version 1.134?
I'm liking the Blood & Steel mod, it's so much easier to have different types on units and the archers are so useful now.
Does B&S work with version 1.134?
If that's the latest version then yes.
I'm liking the Blood & Steel mod, it's so much easier to have different types on units and the archers are so useful now.
Yeah, it was a pain in the ass to always have to get recruits and then mold them to become archers, regular infantry or cavalry. Now you can just ride in and grab a couple of cavalry or archers. And being able to draft units in cities/castles is awesome.
Being able to set your faction for every castle/town is nice too so you can have melee troops of say swadia and archers from nord or whatever.
It's much more fun this way. No grinding to build an army for real life days because you also lose a large portion.
Blood and steel also makes str pretty obsolete and focuses more on leading troops. which is nice as well. You're more likely to invest in int and raise surgery, first aid and tactics that way. That way you can stand a chance against the huge inflation of enemy armies.
Made a mount and musket video with a spectator view of a small line battle if any of you are interested:

Linebattle with skirmishers. Really?
And 13 year old with a flag.
1866 still does not have SP on Warband?
