Mount&Blade (Warband too) thread V. Knights of Calradia - Games

So in this Brytwaniasomething mod, is it normal that half of my elite infantry is spazzing over the battlefield like speedy gonzales, circling the enemy with godspeed? Or falls through the ground and dies after 10 minutes? Or goes planking in the middle of a battle? Wierd bugs, fun mod. Another weird bug is that I couldn't leave a village till I bought 4 cows and spend 8 days working for them.

Guys, what are the best units? Are the Rhodok Sharpshooters any good? How about the Swadian Sergeants? I've used them both and they seem pretty good but are there better alternatives?

goddamn with fire and sword is fucking boring.

The repair system in C_rpg is so bullshit. I play a samurai build and even if I don't fight I have to pay 2000 denars each round just to fix half of my stuff, the other half I don't even bring to the fight.

I've used them both and they seem pretty good but are there better alternatives?[/QUOTE] Rhodoks have the best crossbowmen, Sarranids and Swadians have the best heavy cavalry, Nords have the best infantry, Vaegirs have the best archers but they are shitty at literally everything else Khergits steamroll with cavalry as every single one of their units has a horse You can sometimes get lucky with horse archers and kill half the enemy army with only a few archers My personal favorites are Rhodoks and Nords. Other factions have OP as fuck cavalry and that's not very nice (I'm playing Pike & Blade though, it balances the game pretty well). With Nords I just spam the default infantry units, make a shield wall, take my place in it and generally play as a normal Nord soldier with throwing axes and huscarl shields and chainmail byrnies and hauberks and shit. With Rhodoks I use some more advanced tactics and crossbow volley fire which is incredibly fun

Why am I getting disagrees? Fire & Sword is boring as HELL. It's just "go there, get some money for me" and die by bandit with musket.

Your troops have a magical ability to die 10 times easier when you're not there.

Your troops have a magical ability to die 10 times easier when you're not there.[/QUOTE] At the beginning you're proper to getting 1shot, just keep yourself behind your units and move with them, when you get better armour you'll see how guns don't hurt you that much. What I like about F&S is that there isn't as much heroic stuff like warband, you have to be careful at all times.

The only problem I have with khergit horse archers is that there is no way of telling them to use ranged weapons only, I always end up with my horse archers going melee :v:

I now have every companion in warband, all decked out in full plate, wielding War Bows with bodkin arrows, masterwork pole-axes and masterwork bastard swords while riding heavy chargers.

Pole-axes seem like a waste, they can't be used horseback and the AI sucks with them in general I'd rather give them huscarl shields

Maybe a unique mode or the monsters/spells of the warhammer universe would cement its place.
