One thing about conquering entire factions is that once you beat them bad enough, it doesn't become a war but trying to stamp out cockroaches.
Nah, any projectile will immedietly kill you if it hits the head, it's just that simetimes the hitbox can be a bit funny.
That's not true. Being hit in the head with a melee weapon does 1.2x the damage, and 2.0x if shot with a projectile. It's not an automatic kill.
You had Nords. Did you think it would surprise us that you won?
Yes, thats odd because most of my game media is meant to surprise and leave people in sheer and utter awe. Or maybe im just posting M&B media in the M&B thread, I forgot which one it is [editline]29th July 2011[/editline]
nords used 92 huscarls! it's super effective!
Some day I will have 400 and will use them to siege god himself
People who draw pistols and shoot at me in the middle of a duel in F&S deserve swift death. And I give it to them. Not one person who does that to me so far has won the duel.
People who draw pistols and shoot at me in the middle of a duel in F&S deserve swift death. And I give it to them. Not one person who does that to me so far has won the duel.
Don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
I want a gentleman's duel mode in F&S Everyone spawns with a sword and a pistol, but no ammo thus the pistol has only one shot. You spawn back-to-back and must walk a set number of paces and then turn around and shoot. If neither one dies from the shot then you must engage with swords. Moustaches are a requirement.
Well, then you should also make a much more complex combat system because there are parts on the body that are not covered by armor such as the armpits, a strik there would definitely wound you badly. But you can't really aim for where you are going to hit the enemy.
I wish. Unfortunately the M&B engine doesn't really have the animations or combat style that would allow that to happen. On an unrelated note, does anybody else wish really badly that M&B had flails?
Don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
I bring a halberd to a gentlemanly duel. They bring pistols and I still beat the shit out of them. I will bring whatever I want to whatever fight I want. They always have premade animations so it's basically just a mace with a fancy chain animation. Guess thats fine, but I can see why they wouldn't want to animate that.
I hate those people that just go for swedes in multiplayer. Leaving everyone else with a feeling of "just finish this already". But i absolutely enjoy owning those feint faggots with their armor and spastic movement simply by not falling for their show.
I hate those people that just go for swedes in multiplayer. Leaving everyone else with a feeling of "just finish this already".
It does? I don't see why. The Polish slaughter them if they go heavy on cav. So do the Crimeans if they're on a good map for it.
But i absolutely enjoy owning those feint faggots with their armor and spastic movement simply by not falling for their show.
Yes of course "feint faggots." People are faggots now for using a legitimate and real tactic that works.

It menaces with speaks of rage. All craftdwarfship is of the highest quality.
You can't win a straight up swingfest if both people are proficient at blocking. If I know they're not very good I'll use normal attacks. If they know how to block I'll start feinting. If they start anticipating the feints I'll start double feinting. [editline]29th July 2011[/editline] Unless you're talking about people who just spaz out with every attack direction and then finally attack. That's just lack of precise control.
The MP of fire&sword is insanely satisfaying, rolling with meele weapons getting close to the faggots that only use guns, dodging their bullets zigzaging and stabbing them right in the face since most of them suck at melee. I was at this capture the flag server on that map where it's a castle in ruins, a river across the middle of the map, and a on the other side a small village. I sneaked around the castle all alone on foot, killed the defenders one by one, stole the flag, run back to the river running away from the muskets and ran all the way back to the village to retrieve the flag, I felt like a damn balls out badass. You don't get that satisfaction in Warband knowing how much more deadly are muskets and guns
I like using a musket on occasion so that people think once they get close they win and then I proceed to slash them to death
I like using a musket on occasion people people think once they get close they win and then I proceed to slash them to death
What?
Using guns and muskets is also nice in F&S, you can get into some really cool firefights, that's why my usual loadout is some 2handed and a gun with some bullets, and the pimpiest hat I can get my hands on, that's a must. This is the most impractical armour you will ever use in a game, it's as annoying as sweet looking it's. And that's a shame, because I fucking love that armour, it only misses some camera fix or something and making noises when youre riding your horse quickly, that'd be oh man. The camera thing can be fixed with playing first person tho, but I'm not used to it
What?
Really now? There was a 1 word mistake and you can't figure out the meaning from context?

I tried to get into feinting myself because just blocking i found just doesn't cut it against some people. It does for most, but not all. I found it hard, but more importantly annoying as fuck to keep spazzing my hand like some twitch gamer i am not.
Why would you hate them there is really no good reason for that Also, you don't need to spazz your hand to feint. Hold a regular attack, then move your mouse in another direction and right click while still holding the left mouse button.
Impractical? Tell that to the Ottoman Turks at the siege of Vienna. "Terrifying" would be a better word.
Impractical ingame, have you seriously played with it? you can't see shit from the wings covering everything in front of your character, if you play in third person that is.
Impractical ingame, have you seriously played with it? you can't see shit from the wings covering everything in front of your character, if you play in third person that is.
First person. Problem solved. Actually, who here prefer first person? I usually don't, but sometimes I find it helps me block better in melee. I also always use it with ranged weaponry
I use first person for firearms and bows. Thats it.

How does one person not get proficient at blocking. It's literally just pressing right mouse when they move their arm.

I play first person when I'm on horseback using lances or when I'm aiming with bows/muskets, for everything else third person
Third person fo' errythang.
