It works the same in both single and multiplayer. [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] The original M&B is obsolete unless you're really attracted to a specific mod for it that hasn't been ported, and F&S is for the most part a nicely polished mod for Warband. Best to get Warband in my opinion.
But a headshot always kills you in multiplayer, always.
But a headshot always kills you in multiplayer, always.
Not unless it's a headshot with a cold steel weapon though. But i guess it's not so much a shot anymore then :v: facestab with spear/pike is always hugely satisfying.
Just do a 'down' block to block the hussar lances. If they cough then that's just really easy to avoid. [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] It's kinda easy to fight a hussar unless he's good, or in my opinion so. I play battle most of the times, and I just find that when you play 5v5 and the enemy is playing Sweden, they all, or most of them seem to go musketeer with one of those best muskets. The infantry got claymores which are great cause they're somewhat fast and not 'unbalanced'.
Couching ignores block though [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] oh you mentioned couching but calling it coughing confused me lol [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] But not it's not easy to avoid. I mean it is, when you're one on oneing a hussar, but when their whole team knows what they've got on you is hussars, I don't have eyes coming out my ass and more often than not I'll hear hooves, turn, quickly down block and boom, straight through it goes
I'm sorry, I always get that wrong, I always think of sofas when someone say couch :v:
Not unless it's a headshot with a cold steel weapon though. One attack direction just does not cut it. I love that castle map with two ladders up to the main wall section and a gate right between them and a breach in the wall section to the right. I love when I'm on defense and we're defending the little room just before the flag on the left side of the wall with all the overturned tables for cover and a wooden door they have to bust down. If you just get behind the table nearest the door you can just up attack into the mass of people that comes charging in and get so many kills because you pretty much always hit their head and the table is at just the right height that you can attack over it but it provides great cover.
But a headshot always kills you in multiplayer, always.
Hey, there are plenty of times where being hit in the head won't kill you. If you're wearing a great helmet, most swords won't kill you in one hit to the head, for instance. Then there's always the possibility of your enemy getting a poor hit in. Of course... a solid hit with a high damage weapon will probably put you down.

If I meant melee weapons I would have said hit in the head, but I said headshot, a SHOT in the head. Sorry I just got so frustrated lol :v:
Hey guys, My warband crashes everytime it has to load a scene, does anyone have a solution?
I was just now in a deathmatch server all fine and dandy everyone killing eachother until I realised grenades weren't disabled. I equiped one just to try them because I had never before, and I laughed SO HARD at the guys falling down to the ground when hit by grenades. Then I said fuck it and all I equiped was grenades and started throwing them everywhere just because theyre fucking hilarious, and then it degraded to suicide bombing with grenades hahaha
Hey, if you don't believe me, host up a multiplayer game with some Swadian bots. The darts won't kill the infantry or horsemen with one headshot unless there's a decent movement modifier. The great helmet is about 40% more armor than the helmets they're wearing, and allows you to survive a larger variety of ranged weapons. Still going to get oneshot by the heavier bows and all the crossbows unless it's a really long shot and/or you're riding away on a horse but it's still worth it to wear a helmet.
Hey guys, My warband crashes everytime it has to load a scene, does anyone have a solution?
Might have found a solution for this and those that crash when entering towns/taverns! Go to Taleworlds site and download the lastest version of M&B:Warband straight off there and install it. There's some issue with the current version of M&B on steam, and the retail version seems to work better. You don't need to re-enter your key, it's already in the window's registry, otherwise it'll act like a 'trial' version. This seems to work for me, at least.
Geez, Poland sucks.
Oh boy, i would really like to get into WFaS multilayer but the combat speed is soooooo slooooow, its like fighting in honey. I asked and the server has it speed on fastest, so its a net code issue?
I never have that problem. The 2H weapons are ofcourse alot slower than in Warband but it's much more realistic.
I think the speed is fine. It's also mofe fun for more people this way.

However my new monster laptop just arrived, and all is good now :P

Is the server you're playing on located far away from you? Alternatively it could just be a WF&S issue, I'm not as familiar with that one.
Well I've spent a hour raiding villages today, getting lots of Denars, then another another going from capital to capital looking for Masterworks bows and swords. No luck so far. Is there any pattern to where they show up? Or should I just sit at one town and wait till it comes to me?
The town has to have pretty high prosperity IIRC
Ive only just come around to trading in M&B thanks to WFAS. Unlike the other 2 games you can't make a living off killing bandits and looting villages. My biggest failure had to be spending 5000 denars on grenades, then realizing they are one use only. (Used only two in combat, threw the rest into the sky). Ive been roaming with a band of Tavern Mercs and my own Cossack Mercs. My favourite Cossack unit is the Marksmen, who Ive given leather zupans, good pistols, saddle horses and good sabres. They actually went pretty even against Swedish Reiters when I attacked their foragers. I only pissed off the Swedes because I promised to give them Jacque and spent the 14 days trading. One thing though that gets on my nerves is the prices for equipment for yourself are astronomical.
Should I get Warband? I don't really know if I'm going to play it, since I've played Mount & Blade, and well, I got pretty tired of it. My friend (Ragni Bross in-game or something) says I should, but I really don't know if I can get myself to play yet another game that will take large sums of my time up.
You can buy it just for multiplayer too though. Sounds like you shouldn't get it though.
I just got off a deathmatch server in WFAS in the lead with 52 kills and 25 deaths. Knowing how to block is OP. Nerf blocking!
Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch is usually really easy because most of the people who suck at the game play at those servers. Battle is where the real stuff happens.

Nerf blocking!
Well to be honest it's pretty stupid that a rider coming at you at 500mph swings a greatsword towards you at the speed of light and you block it without being knocked down or anything with a stick

It's easier to be good at wf&s than native multiplayer or c-rpg. That being said, it's still enjoyable to be good at something :v:
WFAS is so fun because if you've played crpg for like 10 seconds you're instantly king of all melee. [editline]4th August 2011[/editline]
Well to be honest it's pretty stupid that a rider coming at you at 500mph swings a greatsword towards you at the speed of light and you block it without being knocked down or anything with a stick
And I didn't mean this wouldn't be realistic, but it would be SUPER imbalanced. [editline]4th August 2011[/editline] And you don't need it. My friend and I just finished a game where we decided to go nothing but 1-handed sword cavalry and we completely dominated.
Not really.
No, it is. The sword has a lot of momentum. Let's assume you have a Hussar coming at you at 47km/h. He swings with his saber. Even if you block it, you're going to get knocked around a bit because there's a lot of momentum behind that swing. IMO there wouldn't be a problem with implementing that in game, as long as the rider has to be going at like 40km/h+ for it to happen, as that would make it difficult for them to wheel around and kill you before you'd gotten up.
