No, it is. The sword has a lot of momentum. Let's assume you have a Hussar coming at you at 47km/h. He swings with his saber. Even if you block it, you're going to get knocked around a bit because there's a lot of momentum behind that swing. IMO there wouldn't be a problem with implementing that in game, as long as the rider has to be going at like 40km/h+ for it to happen, as that would make it difficult for them to wheel around and kill you before you'd gotten up.
Cavalry is ridiculous enough as is if you know how to play it without adding that. [editline]4th August 2011[/editline] If you're throwing a swing with a 1-handed sword hard enough to knock someone down you're probably going to end up breaking your arm.
Bumpslashing is easy enough, adding crushthrough to normal horseback swings would just throw off the game balance way too much. I wouldn't mind if they added more "realism" changes to singleplayer, but multiplayer should never sacrifice balance for realism if you ask me.

It took me a long while, and a little luck, but I now have most of Caldaria under my control. I can barely afford my army, only getting around 300 Denars profit, but I will take all of Caldaria, and it won't matter, since vassals won't have anywhere else to go. The Nords are my final obstacle.

I was just on a WFAS deathmatch server. Some guy shot me with a musket and then finished me off with a pistol. I'm no stranger to that but I was a little grumpy due to not performing as well as I normally do in WFAS. (There were actual decent melee fighters on this server) So I said, "How lame do you have to be to have two firearms?" To which he responds, "I'd fuck you over in melee." "Do it then. Coward." "Okay. Next kill." So he kills the guy he's fighting and then we fight, and I beat him handily. "Yeah, you fucked me over real hard." Feels manly, man.
Whenever I play musketeer I go with a musket and a pistol as backup weapon :v:

Mount & Musket. Do you accept?
It's true, honor is all that matters in Mount and Blade. That's why I don't mind getting shot by horse archers, because I know for a fact that they're going to hell.
Horse archery has no honor in it? What? Besides, you're supposed to start the duel by firing your pistols and then charging into close combat.
Bought this game about 3-4 days ago. This is such a great game, it's quite realistic, but there are some cons, such as mediocre graphics (they're still okay, to an extent), and the fact that sea raiders and tundra bandits will nearly always kill your party and take you prisoner.
The only time I can remember seeing honour was playing C-rpg as a peasant. A Templar charged me and just as I thought I was screwed, he stopped his weapon and went for someone else. I joined the clan not so long after, but it died and I got bored of C-rpg.

You need to work up to everything in the game. Soon enough sea raiders won't be able to cause any casualties to your party.
Every time you talk about WF&S's mp, the urge to buy it gets greater and greater. Mount & Musket would be so much more fun if there were more than just Battle servers, it gets annoying having to sit out a round when you die. :(

Like once, i went out to kill some 21 sea raider group, and then some other sea raider groups joined up. Soon it was 38-39 (my forces) versus 58.

Sea Raiders can be great for grinding as they drop Byrnies (giving you decent armour early in the game) and a more than average amount of gold. I have no problem fighting them, but what you might want to do is either get loads of recruits and grind them up to Militia, (make sure you have at least 23-30, and at least 10 Militia) or buy Mercs in Taverns if you have the gold. I didn't think bandit parties grouped up.

I go for one, and then i see two more groups heading for me, so they all grouped up because they were all going to attack me. But thanks for the tip, i'll try out path finding.
If you want to avoid them grouping up, their party speed is usually slightly different, so just have them chase you until one of the parties has fallen too far behind and gives up the pursuit.
I challenge you to a melee duel in... Mount & Musket. Do you accept?
I don't have it lol. I guess I'll install it now. Someone told me I should in crpg yesterday. I've been meaning to get it but I'm just too lazy. [editline]5th August 2011[/editline]
Horse archery has no honor in it? What? And no, you're supposed to start in melee. If you're a man and not some mincing fairy boy, that is. But in singleplayer...fucking kherghit bastards...
I hate Khergit Khanate in multiplayer, I haven't played a game with that faction for months because nobody likes em.
Khergits vs. Nords GUESS THE GAME IS OVER
Dueling in mount and musket is easy even for a newcomer if you know how people fight. Generally with muskets people thrust, so block down most of the time.
The best feeling in the world is beating someone to death with your musket as a melee weapon, even better if instead of a musket you beat them with a pistol
Khergits vs. Nords GUESS THE GAME IS OVER
If your team goes and camp a village or building yes :v: [editline]5th August 2011[/editline]
The best feeling in the world is beating someone to death with your musket as a melee weapon, even better if instead of a musket you beat them with a pistol
That's why I always use a pistol in close combat when playing musketeer! It's fast and can for some reason block so it's great.

Those 12 year olds think because it has guns they must shoot all the time. So i play their game and let them get closer or go myself. Once close enough they usually panic as they hardly know how to block :v:. On avarage blocking skill is pretty poor on m&m so when i downloaded it today and played a match i ended up 3rd of my team with 7 kills and 3 deaths. But i remember having matches where i killed almost half their team :v:. In a way i prefer m&m over wf&s because you're pretty much just dead or you're alive. Strategy is more important than your plate armor.
