That being said, if you try to attack while holding the shield up, the shield will be moved to a place that it no longer protects you, whereas if you just release block the shield will just come down gradually as it does now.

I love polearm axe in crpg but they are waaaay too upkeep expensive for their effectiveness. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline] Still, I love fighting right on the edge of my range because no one else knows whether or not you're about to hit them.

I use an awl pike in crpg most of the time. Or a pike if there's plenty of space. I really like my spiky sticks. Teamplay really helps, and long weapons allow you to strike while someone is attacking your teammate, without risking getting killed yourself.

From my last post as an update on my conquest on the Nords: I took the easy route and took Wercheg as a battle station to launch attacks from. I told my vassals to guard all of the border cities, and we are pretty good in terms of men. I think we can wipe out the Nords.

I just got on a DM server and the top player was wearing the heaviest Swedish armor and using a two-handed sword. I expected he'd put up an actual fight but it turns out he couldn't block worth a damn. I beat him about 4/5 of the times I fought him. I'm still unable to take the Nords over. They keep seiging Wercheg and killing off my men. I might have to abandon it to get extra soldiers from my safe estate all the way in Yalen.

Except that I was a vassal of the Nords and helped them take over and wipe out the Vaegirs completely. I rebelled and am now retaking some of the Vaegir land (for my new empire of course.) from the Nords. The main problem is being everywhere at once. :c

But sadly it will never be played as much as m&m. m&m is superior so people won't leave that. And that repeater rifle is bullshit. It shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger.

I just made it to Yalen, only to get more good news of one of my DEEP areas (Nelag Castle) is under siege. Now I have to travel with my worn-out soldiers with little food all the way to Nelag, and hope that Wercheg is still mine after defending.

That civil war mod just reminded me how I wish the 1866 would work with warband. Surprisingly the first games demo works with mods.
