Mount&Blade (Warband too) thread V. Knights of Calradia

Hm...Originally, I placed this game on the back-burner because of how such a hard time I was having with the controls (they feel really clunky), but I don't think I gave this game a fair chance, so I'm taking up re-visiting it.
Anyone know of any good or popular 'enhancement' Mods (Graphics, Controls, General Gameplay)?
By the way, Mount and Blade: Warband is the game in question.
Not sure how to feel about the Shogun mod. Yeah the guy's a tool but its a really nice mod. I jizzed in my pants when I saw the yumi.
Him being a prick is probably part of the reason the mod looks so good.
He's clearly delusional and extremely hostile, both of those would make him very determined to make a good mod :v:
I like him too, sometimes people try so hard that they sacrifice their own ideas to other people ideas just so others like it.
Yeah. He's in no way obligated to listen to people as it's his mod, the only problem is that he's kind of a prick about it.
Kind of...
"Why don't you lower cut damage on this particular sword by 3, since it's cheaper than a similar yet inferior sword?"
"Why don't you shut the fuck up and make your own mod you ignorant peasant?"
To be perfectly honest most people on the Taleworlds forum are a joke anyway.

Sometimes people try too hard to pretend they are not making their mod for anyone but themselves.
There are people that actually do that. This guy pretends to be like that.
say i collected taxes from a place called praven and never gave the lord the money is this going to come back and bite me in the ass?
I stole taxes from a lord once, I figured that since he already didn't like me, I'd just have to make do with another enemy. About one in-game year later, I have my own decent-sized kingdom where the Rhodoks used to be, and the same lord leaves his kingdom and flees to my capital, Jelkala. He asks if he could join me and I'm like "Sure, why not." The next words out of his mouth were "My lord - I BELIEVE YOU OWE ME 12,000 DENARS."
I then went to my minister and had him indicted for treason.

You are awesome.
I was playing cRPG yesterday for a coupple of hours, and today when I got home from work Mount & Blade crashes when I join a game, native singleplayer, native multiplayer and cRPG multiplayer all crashes. Reinstalling didn't work.

Sounds like a problem I've had a few times in the past. In the end I figured out that it was a corrupted multiplayer profile file. Go to Run (windows+R) and type %appdata% then go to roaming, then Mount and Blade: Warband. Now delete (or put somewhere else as a backup in case it's something else and you don't feel like redoing your character's appearance) the profiles.dat file.
How hard can porting a mod from MB to WB be? I'll try my luck at 1866, I'm to impatient for someone else to do it.
I just can't wait til' the Star Wars mod reaches Warband.

Thanks alot mate! Now cRPG works, but Native keeps on crashing..

Didn't know they were making a proper one.
I can't wait for that warhammer mod myself. Looks incredible.
If you own a castle while in a faction, can you leave that faction and take the castle with you as your own to make a your own faction?
If you own a castle while in a faction, can you leave that faction and take the castle with you as your own to make a your own faction?
No, the castle will still be in the other factions hands. You need to recapture it.

Wrong, you can leave with all your fiefs. You need to take land though. So siege a castle or town or something and request it, and if it isn't given to you, you can choose the option that's like "the king has wronged me, blah blah blah" and that results in you taking all your current lands as your own and starting your own faction. (With your previous faction waging war against you.)
I think you can also initiate dialogue with a companion saying you want them to be a count or some shit like that.
Then you become a rebel faction. Haven't tried it though because I fear all the other factions will gangbang me

What I did was break off and make my own kingdom and declare war on a faction that my previous faction was at war with. They happily agreed to have peace since we had a common enemy. I then proceeded to capture all of the enemy factions territory.

Ooh. That's clever. I'm currently just fighting back the Nords. :c they were my previous faction.

It's infuriating fighting Nords, luckily I already had over 500-700 Huscarls filling my 2 castles, and about 600 Swadian Knights, 200 Rhodok Crossbowmen, and some Sarranids in my town. It's time to fuck the Nords up.
I was always really fond of mercenary troops, especially Hired Blades. I had a good number of them in my warband once. Then I ran into an angry Nordic lord. You can guess what happened next.
The Nords have torn a small hole in my kingdom, but I will patch it right back up with the power of Sarranid Guards and Rhodok Sharpshooters.

I'm pretty sure they weren't even done with the MB one, its still in beta I think.

Your move :colbert:
Trolling crpg players is fun. At the end of a round we lost someone said, "Stupid team" "so sick of heroes". Target acquired.
UGH it just BURNS HIM UP that people would play a video game for FUN
People that say that are 12 year olds.
But really, for some odd reason teams are usually unbalanced skillwise. You rarely get an even battle.

I had a horde of Merc cavalry once. They absolutely smashed the Vaegirs, even armies of mostly Knights. That was in the original M&B though.
I have the utmost respect for modders, but the shogun guy...urg.
I ended up deleting the shogun mod anyway, kept telling me it couldn't find the texture files.
