I couldn't read the freaking text font, and the map is waaaaaaaay too big.
Tell him that, maybe he isn't aware of it. :D
Does anyone else on Brytenwalda see some npcs who are really small midgets (child body man face) i don't think this deformity is historically accurate
I'm not a big fan of CRPG, but it seems like there are no native servers.

Gah i seriously need to fix this damn texture error 'cause I so want to play the Shogun mod. Damn thats strange, switch to DX7 mode and they work, yet not in DX9, though this is the onyl mod i've played so far that does that to me in dx9 mode.
Probably the mod makers fault. Also, does anyone else get invisable slashes online? Sometimes they'd hit me and then ninja an invisable hit right after that before i can even do anything. Or sometimes my animation gets stuck and everything is extremely laggy while i have the best latency on the server.
Big bump I guess (its a megathread w/e) Haven't played a lot of fire and sword yet, but I think I want to to make an alternate Scotsman character, Im just wondering if it's possible for shields to block bullets.. I want to use a claymore, broadsword, shield, and I want to be on foot... but that raises the question "how do I not get arseraped by bullets" So yeah, whats the best way to go about this?
use allies as a meatshield. i dont know any tactics of otherwise avoiding death by bullet
Get better armor by trading, armor really makes a difference, and use meatshields. Never go alone neither because you'll be the first and only target.
Wow i am starting to hate multiplayer. I've been playing siege on native but fuck people are retarded. They play siege as if it's battle and completely forget about the flag and taking the castle thing. hypno-toad, you don't need armor or a shield. Just let your troops attack before you so that not all their gunners shoot at you. If you do it like that you will rarely be hit because the accuracy is so shit. When you walk infront of your guys all of the enemy gunners will be shooting at you.
Anything other than battle is retarded IMO.
Anything other than battle is retarded IMO.
Battle's okay but I hate sitting around forever waiting for the round to end if I fuck up and get 1-shotted by the best guy on their team or some shit.
Battle's okay but I hate sitting around forever waiting for the round to end if I fuck up and get 1-shotted by the best guy on their team or some shit.
Personally I think that's the charm with it, adds a bit of a more cautious thinking and satisfaction when getting kills. But that's not my point, the other gamemodes are fine, it's just that you don't find the same amount of noobs and people who can't do melee in battle.
well yeah that's definitely true, the average battle player tends to be better
Still, I love getting one some TDM or Siege to get a good amount of kills when I feel like not raging as much.
Battle is fine by me when I'm playing a character I've leveled pretty far in crpg but when I'm playing one that's still low level I definitely want to play siege because I'm going to die a lot.
Ah yes, cRPG. I used to play it back in the early beta, it was quite horrible then and it was really hard to get xp and money. I recently started playing and so far I've got a lvl 25 scottish knight named Douglas_MacBlair. The claymore is awesome. I must say though, swords are quite overpowered.

I always seem to run into the wrong people on battle. I know i can block ok but i either get killed by some random super skilled dude, some lucky hit from some random guy, or just surrounded because i think my team will support my heroic attempt at creating some kind advantage over their position. The latter is probably the most common. People seem to think the battle can be won by not fighting.
Big bump.... People keep asking me what mod Im using when I post M&B screenshots in General Ingame Media so Im posting it here for future reference. Dont bitch at me if it's a repost. "But hypnotoad I got this to work because I run 100 other mods so I dont need you to tell me ho-" I dont give a fuck, keep it to yourself. Obviously this is info for people who dont know much about modding the game off-hand. Since it's not compatible with the current version of warband, Im posting this to give modified install instructions and Warband screenshots. For those of you who are mod savvy:[sp]the difference in installation is that you're taking the models and textures only, we are leaving out the (old) "scenes" and config files that are included in the mod (as those are majorly incompatible), all this will do is replace the trees models, grass props and ground textures and intergrate them into the vanilla game.. it's not bug free (some areas may look a tad messy or overgrown) but it still looks fantastic.[/sp] Download Download Fix (dl this too) Modified "module.ini" (overwrite the one that get created in your native module copy) Alternate: module.ini for copy paste (delete everything in module.ini and paste this) Installation instructions: Do NOT overwrite any default files as that is liable to break your game, this must be installed into a new module. An error I'm experiencing (but may not be related to the mod) is that armored horse models don't appear; though this can likely be fixed with minimal effort if it is related to the module. To get Polished Landscapes to work with the current version of warband, you must go into the Modules section of your M&B:W root folder, and create a copy of the "Native" module. Rename the copy to "Polished_Landscapes," or something of the sort. Download the file from the thread I posted above (and the fix) copy ONLY the "Textures" and "Resource" folders, bring them into the new Polished Landscapes folder and overwrite/integrate the folders into the empty ones. In the mod's .rar, take the two .txt files (flora_kinds and ground_specs) and place them into the Data folder of the Polished_Landscapes module. Install the "fix" as is stated in it's readme. Download (or copy the text) of the Module.ini downloads, and overwrite the default one in your new module folder. Ta-Da, you're done; run the mod via the module selection when the game starts up. The mod can be a bit laggy at times so screw around with your graphics settings (changing the grass density helps a lot) Screenshots as the mod is currently installed (full size link below each screen):
http://i.imgur.com/fFzQP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gdXOj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/88h8u.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ytwbo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ftml3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/w5GpV.jpg
I think I may have missed (a potentially un-crucial) step, if anybody followed these directions, tell me your results.
Finally bought all the Mount & Blades from Steam sale for only 9,99$. Started with Warband, I love this game already.
You should get polished landscapes asap. It's just better than native landscapes.
Welp, my gift card is out of money when mount and blade warband is on sell, if anyone is interested in buying me this game I can pay you in books from barnes and nobles (I have a gift card for that).
Books.
Wait, all the M&B as a package for $10? Anyone have ten bucks? I'm getting a gift card this tuesday, i'l pay you back.

Do graphics mods work with multiplayer (crpg)? I'm tired of staring at all the jolly greens and the vibrant blooms, I want some realism dangit. :/
I... don't think that looks right.
Ah, I suspected that would happen. Thanks for posting it. Drop this in your polished landscapes module folder and overwrite the current http://www.gamefront.com/files/20801535/module.ini Or just delete everything in it (it being the module.ini) and paste this text into it in it's current format http://shorttext.com/hqsD7Z [editline]21st September 2011[/editline] should fix the problem, tell me if it doesnt [editline]21st September 2011[/editline] Have a screenshot
