You have to build your base from scratch, so no.
I bought this game yesterday, and there's some weird problem with the bar at the bottom, menu buttons and logo, etc. Anybody got a solution?
As in, pictures show up randomly, where they shouldnt, logo cut diagonally, etc.

I think you have to have a certain amount of money and/or have all the doomsday informations before you can get the second island
You get it when you look at the world domination screen, it'll be at the bottom of the map thing

It's because you need to get the plans from them. Click on them (the enemy agents) till you find one with a doomsday icon. He has the plans. Kidnap him. Interrogate. Then your agent problem should be eased.
Man it would be awesome for a sequel if they ever make one if it had like the TF2 graphics and announcer. IMO Evil genius and Team Fortress 2 look very similar and it would be awesome to play Evil Genius with TF2 graphics.

Well that's great, now you're on Island 2 so that makes this post pointless.
It'd be great if you could have more control over your minions, it's pretty frustrating to have a squad of soldiers just mow down all your military minions one at a time. Be awesome if you could organise your guards into security teams or something and customise the security cameras more. For example only having red security cameras alert red security teams, hell you could even colour their jump suits or something to help coordinate!
The ability to guard doors etc would be great too without having to change them to allow your avatar only.
Oh yeah, and being able to say what type of minions goes where a little more. It's pretty retarded at the moment having all my construction workers and scientists clusterfucking in my armoury while all my marksmen are in the control room being useless.
System works fine IMO.

Yeah it's good, it's fun, but it could still be improved I think. Hopefully without becoming overly complex, maybe.

I used to play this game all the time when I got it like 5 years ago, then I got into it again for awhile about 2 years ago. It's a very fun game, defiantly recommend it. Although, you do get a late, the game is like really damn old.

1.01 changes it to say "load and save" instead.
