If a high-rank minion deserts for loyalty reasons (so before you've gotten a nice collection of loot) you can just knock em out and put them in jail for 5 minutes and their loyalty will be 100% again. The funniest part is that they still stop to salute you when you double-click on them when they are deserting. Makes capturing them very easy.
thanks for the advice. and sorry for being hard headed but what do you mean by showing off loot?
thanks for the advice. and sorry for being hard headed but what do you mean by showing off loot?
Put it in the corners of your corridors or any other place where most minions go to. They have an area of effect that boosts loyalty. Über-loot has like 2x the size of normal loot, which can come in handy.
oh okay I'll try that. and bodybags keep so much space. I filled my freezer room in about 1 hour of gameplay, agents just keep invading my island and shit.
oh okay I'll try that. and bodybags keep so much space. I filled my freezer room in about 1 hour of gameplay, agents just keep invading my island and shit.
Racks are really useful for storing bodybags.
Racks are really useful for storing bodybags.
yeah i have 2 full racks, now they just dump them on the floor. no way to dispose of bodies completely?
yeah i have 2 full racks, now they just dump them on the floor. no way to dispose of bodies completely?
Theres your problem, you only have 2 racks. I always have a minimum of 4. Later in the game you can get rid of bodybags, but the whole point of them is to be inconvenient so that you would consider taking out agents using different means, such as stats draining.
is there really any need to build outside? I unlocked a hotel and stuff but I'm not sure if to build outside or not. sorry all the questions...just trying to figure out how the game works
Personally I think that hotels are just a waste of money. They take tons to build and theyre just there to keep tourists away, which you could just keep away by using doors.
is there really any need to build outside? I unlocked a hotel and stuff but I'm not sure if to build outside or not. sorry all the questions...just trying to figure out how the game works
Every time i've played i've never actually seen my hotel really used even when staffed. Tourists still decide to just wander into my base. Building some other stuff outside can be useful. I usually just build a few of shacks in a row and put barracks in them with some lockers in,then set the door to the 3rd security setting. Enemy agents then decide to break into all of them, which just wastes there time. I suppose if you have the mod/patch that lets you build sentry turrets indoors you could do a similar thing but stick sentry turrets in there instead.
2 things http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1638920 this is the best patch you can get for evil genius on steam and apparently EG2 is on rebellion's short list for new games
and apparently EG2 is on rebellion's short list for new games
Yep, i'm the one who asked about it.
Nice to see this thread revived, i was about to make a new one. Sort of got some news about Evil Genius 2, it's not much, but at least it's something. While seeing if there was any news about a new Evil Genius game a few days ago, i looked at the twitter page of Jason Kingley, the CEO and Creative Director of Rebellion. One of his latest tweets was: "Had 4 big meetings about new games, very exciting, ranging from new AAA and free to play. Industry disruption is challenging and exciting." I thought i might as well give it a try and say a new Evil Genius game would be nice. So i said "New games being made by Rebellion? I hope we get an Evil Genius 2." I didn't expect a reply, but he said " It's on the (very) short list." Sounds like they have plans for an Evil Genius 2 at some point.
Pictures:
"shortest of shortlists" Come on
Sweet, I'm in that screenshot. I am very very hopeful.

I'm not very good at this game, I constantly have soldiers land on the island and can't kill them, and then I normally accidentally save while they're already landing so I have to start again.
Sweet, I'm in that screenshot. I am very very hopeful.
Which one are you? More people should send him a tweet saying they want it.

The fix for the first one is self-explanatory, for the second one, just interrogate one of every faction and they'll stop coming to your island.
it sucks that my minions don't automatically kill/kick out agents and people that walk in my base. I have to constantly watch the door or else they just steal stuff under my nose and minions walk by as if nothing happened. When they get spotted by security cameras nobody rushes to deal with the intruders (even though i have a person at the security post and loudspeakers everywhere). No point in putting traps since my own minions fall for them, and doors are useless because somehow everyone gets past (even tourists). It's a complete mess!
how can i reduce it if i constantly need to send people away and bring stuff in my base?
You can't, I meant in an eventual EG2.
this thread inspired me to start a new game
Do you have the camouflaged door? Setting it to 1 helps, also making many empty shacks with level 3 doors makes agents waste lot's of time, hotels are usualy big and useless. Your minions aren't rushing to the spotted agent because: 1) A minion left the control post 2) The agent wasn't tagged It's not very wise to leave the armory control posts in the armory where you "store" your most delicated "guests" as most times they might get up, leave the post leaving the cameras not so secure. Do you have only one security network? Also I find endurance traps to be usefull sometimes as my vallets or social minions will transport the downed minions to my barracks, most times I rarely get any agent in my base. (I'm in island 2 right now where you also have much more space)
You can't, I meant in an eventual EG2.
yeah, it's a pain in the ass. And i think guards should automatically kick out intruders, instead of having to tag everyone. For instance, i was building stuff and all of a sudden a guy in the corridor caught my eye. It was a thief who stole my loot and was safely walking out of my base while tons of armed guards were walking right past him without reacting.
You might want two main entrances to reduce traffic flow through the total, and have them both lead to a low-heat area of your base. Then have a door in the low heat area to your actual heat generating bit of the base. Agents are physically attracted to higher security doors, so keep it at 2 dots to try to deter them from going to it. Then you can ignore anyone in the low area (just tag them for psych weakening) and only have to monitor the high risk area.

[editline]26th October 2012[/editline] It kinda saddens me that this game, Black & White and Dungeon Keeper will probably never see the light of a sequel. If they ever make a new EG from what we saw I do hope they add more features such as being able to have more control over Henchmen (having them stay in one place, guard a certain path, rts style comands in a way).
someone should make a fan made spiritual sequel ti EG, or a mod that drastically changes the micro management problems.
The closest thing to a sequel to DK2 was that horrible Dungeons game that was released a while back. Blame EA for destroying Bullfrog, they were the ones who made the best games. At least Rebellion grabbed Evil Genius before Sierra was absorbed by Activision Blizzard, and we can be hopeful for a proper sequel to it. EG has a load of bugs that really should have been ironed out, and really needed a freeplay mode with more islands + rooms.
someone should make a fan made spiritual sequel ti EG, or a mod that drastically changes the micro management problems.
I doubt a mod will be able to fix it, as some stuff has been done quite poorly and it would probably require a complete revamp instead. Super Agents are the dumbest thing in the game, they are not challenging, no they are just annoying until you manage to get to the second island and even then there's still one agent wich you can't finish off until the very end.
